The house has one queen bedroom with ensuite, one double bedroom and one room with four singles as two sets of bunks. An easy hour's drive from Adelaide and around 35 minutes from McLaren Vale or Langhorne Creek wineries and 10 minutes to the Currency Creek wineries, makes Seaspell the ideal location to explore the coast and the vines.
Relax in this beautiful environment where couples and families can feel equally at home. There are separate spaces for adults and children/teenagers to enjoy.
There are many local activities on the door step for all ages to enjoy during different times of the year from the historic Cockle train to delight young and old ,to the whale watching season, surfing and surf schools and wine tasting at the local wineries.
Local activities include beautiful beach walks at any time of the year. There are a number of tracks through the dunes that only take 3 minutes
Riding the Fleurieu bike trail along the magnificent coastline to Middleton, Port Elliot and Victor Harbor. The bike trail passes near the rear entrance to Seaspell!
Golfing is available on 2 local golf courses - one only 2 minutes drive from Seaspell and has excellent facilities including a restaurant open to the Public.
Surfing and surf lesson on Goolwa beach and the famous Boomer Beach at Middleton.
Water-sports such as sailing, windsurfing,water skiing, jet ski hire are available on nearby Lake Alexandrina and the River Murray.
Sightseeing and Places of interest
Coorong National Park - is adjacent to the mouth of Australia's longest river system. The River Murray consists of long shallow sailing lagoons that stretch over 100 kilometres in length. It offers accessible wild environments, towering sand dunes shallow waterways, rich flora and fauna and the opportunity to learn from the Ngarrindjeri cultural heritage.
Trips are available from luxury 4 wheel drive tours, backwater boats that can be hired, kayaking tours, eco-cruises, sailing cruises and camping tours. These can be booked at the main wharf in Goolwa.
Paddle Steamers - take a trip to the Murray mouth or enjoy a lunch or sunset cruise aboard the historic paddle steamer Oscar W from the Goolwa wharf.
On occasion, and in season, whales have been visible from the windows on the first floor of the house.
Hindmarsh Island(5 mins drive)
Take the bridge over to the island and drive down to the point where the river Murray meets the sea. Also available on the island is the Marina housing an excellent restaurant and Narnu Farm where horse riding is available.
Goolwa itself is a charming town which retains much of its heritage and history. It is the gateway to the River Murray and the Coorong National Park. There are several interesting arts and crafts shops and galleries in the main street and surrounding area including works in glass,oils, watercolour and metal and more.
The Sunday morning market is held on the wharf side, every Sunday in January and on the 1st and 3rd Sunday at other times.. Local fresh produce is sold along with arts and crafts- well worth a visit.
There are many restaurants and cafes to suit all tastes including Bombora on the beach front,Aquacaf on the river, Hectors on the Wharf, the Australasian Hotel, Motherduck, Salty Lime and other eateries and hotels on the main street, or Kingsbrook at Currency Creek.
