Peaceful & relaxing

  • 4 of 5

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Petite Barn. Highly recommend this property, this is a comfortable apartment for two, it was a shame you couldn't see the lovely view out the windows sitting on the couch but that certainly wouldn't stop me coming back. The drive could be a challenge for some people, just drive slow. Lovely place to relax, take in the scenery and kangaroos! We'll be back.

Unique property with unique views close to town

  • 4 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay. Waking up with views of Kangaroos was a real treat and novelty. We stayed in winter and the heating and fireplace were fantastic. There is a main residence next door so be prepared you may get noisy neighbors (as we did).

The driveway is very steep so if you have a sportscar, be prepared. If it's low clearance you may struggle. Also allow at least 5-7 minutes to walk down to the road from the house, from there town is only 5 minutes.

The only negative is that the amenities were not really up to scratch (wine glasses, tea etc...) but we have let the owners know so they may choose to improve.

We'd stay again.

Owner's Response: Thank you for your feedback. We are happy you enjoyed the property, and that you enjoyed the fact we lit the fireplace for you and left lights on so you could arrive after 9pm at your convenience. We are a country property so please do not expect a paved driveway, or that for $230 per night you could have the 17 acre, 3 million dollar property to yourselves exclusively. La Petite Barn shares the property with the main house. La Petite Barn has no facing windows or shared walls with the main house, which is divided by a large terrace. In regards to not having your choice of tea bag, we sent the property manager out within 15 minutes of your text, I think the service here should be mentioned as the tea bags are not itemized but rather complimentary, so your expectations should not be so particular, and our service call was beyond what you would anticipate for a $230 per night accommodation. I think it should also be mentioned all the extra things we did for you, for example accepted a less than 50% payment at the time of booking, and allowed you a late check out even though all of our booking information says we do not offer late check outs. We do apologise that there were not matching glassware due to a breakage with guests who checked out on your day of arrival, this situation has been corrected.

Warm, comfortable, very clean, beautiful views, quite well equipped. Peacefully quiet. Lovely town, but book your restaurants when you book your accommodation (some were booked out for 2 months). If takeaway pizza is your only available choice - make a toasted sandwich.
