Wonderful home, incredible location for accessing all of the expanded Park City (+ Canyons) mountain

  • 5 of 5

Property had nice upscale finishings, beautiful hardwoods, fireplace and great kitchen/appliances and very comfortable bedrooms with really well-decorated, roomy bathrooms. Hot tub was large and the perfect place to chill after skiing all day! Couldn’t ask for a more convenient location for accessing the ski mountain. We literally took an elevator up to the walkway and walked 75 yards to our own Silver Star lift. Silver Star Ski and Sport is literally 15 steps from the lift and they are a fantastic crew working there. Slightly more expensive then other rental locations, but in my opinion well worth it for the convenience. They stored our skiis every day and made it so easy. A ski or pole literally never saw the house the whole week....we just walked back and forth in our boots each day. Thats as good as it gets! Additionally the home had underground parking right smack in front of the basement door....that was hugely convenient and saved us getting to the airport on time as we got caught in a snowstorm the last day. Silver Star base is relatively small compared to PC base or Canyons base, but the restaurant and bar there were very good. Our crew ate in every night but one, so it worked perfectly for us. Silver Star base is 2 quick lift rides from the gondola that takes you over to the Canyons side of the resort. This gives you the ability to efficiently cover more of the mountain as opposed to coming from PC base or Canyons base.....i feel like we were better able to hit more good skiing in less time over our stay. All in all, we had a great trip and couldnt have asked for a nicer home with fantastic owners who worked with us every step of the way to make sure our stay was effortless. I would absolutely stay here again in a heartbeat. I’ve rented in the PC area 15-16 times over the last 25 years and this location competes with the very best of them!

This place was perfect for us! We have 4 adults and 4 kids (ages: 7-12) and the space couldn't be better. It is a 3 level townhome, which offers plenty of privacy with 2 separate families traveling together. The furniture is comfortable and the beds are cozy. The hot tub was awesome to sit in after hitting the slopes. The kitchen is well-equipped and the appliances are very high-end (Viking). The convenience of the washer/dryer on the 3rd floor was great as well.

The location to the slopes is awesome (Silver Star Lift Chair) and the access to ski in is good for any skier level. Rent your skis from Silver Star Ski & Sport, just at the bottom of the lift and they will also let you store your skis overnite.

When checking in, make sure you download the Homeaway App -- because the online version did not have all of the check in details. It took me over an 1.5 hours to figure out how to get into the unit (garage entrance) for the code was only in the App to enter the Common areas, but I never looked at the app. I had to beg the Facility Management company to give me a code.

One last thing, you will need to space out your showers for the hot water runs out quickly!

2nd Time Visitor—Still Just Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

We love this rental unit and plan to return again. Two tips we learned this trip vs. our first: 1. Use the Silver Star shuttle service to go downtown or to Deer Valley and leave the car in the garage. It is free. We tipped the driver each use, but still it is just too easy, convenient not to use this service. 2. When leaving the condo, instead of hauling ski gear up the stairs to exit the condo via the front door, to then walk over to the elevator (for ski out access), it is easier to dress downstairs, where the ski gear is already stored in the condo, then enter the garage, cross to the other side of the garage, and access the (same) elevator from the garage. When you return from the slopes, reverse these steps and access the condo, not via the front door, but via the garage—it’s so much easier this way! Enjoy!

Stunning Ski-in & Ski-out

  • 5 of 5

This Silver Star condo was beautiful and truly had the comforts of home. The proximity to the slopes and town was superb. It was nice to be able to walk directly into the home from the parking garage. The private hot tub was great after a long day out on the slopes.

The beds were comfortable and having them on different levels allowed for privacy of each family we had staying. It was a trick hauling our heavy bags up both flights of stairs - not a problem if you don't pack a bag as full as I do!! The beds were comfortable, which when you are away from home, is SO nice. Being foodies, the kitchen was awesome! It was the best supplied kitchen I have seen in a rental yet. The appliances also were top notch.

This is a home that is on my list of return rentals! It was a very pleasant stay. Thanks, Iris, for sharing your home!

Silver Star location perfect for skiing family

  • 5 of 5

Two couples, 3 children stayed comfortably in this 3 bedroom, 3-1/2 bathroom corner unit townhome. The ski locker at the HOA office at the base of the Silver Star lift was awesome for us to store our skis, then walk comfortably in our shoes back to the condo. We did have a little trouble finding our way from the around the townhomes to the Silver Star base (a layout map of Silver Star area would be helpful; we didn't see one) We rented from the Silver Star Ski Rental place which is 10 steps away from the Silver Star Lift (it wasn't as friendly as the reviews rave about, but it sufficed for good rentals and returns and location is key!). It does require an intermediate skier to return back to the Silver Star area by way of a blue or black diamond run (no green runs return to this lift). The kitchen is well equipped with plateware, utensils, cups and common spices. The kitchen faucet needs replacing and the manager is aware. The property manager always promptly answered the phone when I called (twice). The hot tub was clean and inviting (and I usually never go in other people's hot tubs!) The rooms are large, comfortable. There are some family games, books, DVDs that my children enjoyed. Some of the cable and DVDs were not working in various rooms (cable & DVD not working in family room, no DVD in master bedroom, and cable not working in lower master bedroom), but it wasn't a big deal to us because we did not need to watch tv or dvds. One of the levels walked right out into one of the community fire pits and our kids roasted marshmallows and made s'mores several times during our week stay there. My parents enjoyed taking the free bus throughout Park City and its outskirts since they don't ski. One day, I took 2 of the kids to the ice rink at the Park City base which they enjoyed. We did enjoy some of the restaurant recommendations in the owner's book. The Park City Mtn base was fairly busy since we were there during spring break (ski school is absolutely crowded during this season!) but Silver Star base is nice, quiet, remote and so much more peaceful if that is the vibe you are looking for. Dropping my kids off at ski school was stressful to lug all our gear over there and wait in line (kids are too young to carry and put on their own stuff, so it was a pain), so much so that I didn't want to sign them up again. So this condo is more ideal for intermediate skiers that can ski in and out, which we did do for the rest of the week. Thanks!

Family Ski Trip

  • 5 of 5

The pictures of this condo do not do it justice. We had 5 adult and 2 kids and never felt crowded. The condo is in an excellent location with easy access to ski. There is a lift within steps of the condo that provides access to Park City Mountain and Canyon Mountain. Also, I recommend renting your ski equipment on site, it is very convenient and you don't have to worry with carrying skis and boots back and forth to the condo as the owners locker is right by the rental store. The shuttle is within steps so you really do not need a vehicle. We used Uber to get to and from the airport, both times they picked us up within minutes. The condo truly has everything a family needs. It is really a home away from home. The owners are great to work with and they literally have though of everything. The condo is very clean and comfortable. I have never provided a review before, but truly loved this condo and I highly recommend this rental and location.
