Overview

About the property

Dramatic sustainable house designed for relaxed hoilday living by Mapleton local Philip Boorman who has many awards for his outstanding Architectural work and modern furniture designs.

Located on the escarpment in the centre of the 125 acre site. This privileged isolation has allowed the house design to be opened to the volume of the surrounding private space by the extensive use of timber framed bi-fold doors and windows. Solar panels generate the power supply and roof water is collected in tanks for filtered reuse within the home.

When John Seccombe obtained the land by way of the selection process in 1904 the original survey plan of the day noted that \"All the country here on shown is of an Extremely Rugged and Broken nature.\" This rugged landscape has protected the area from the encroachment by subdivisions for over 100 years, providing flora and fauna with largely undisturbed area for species listed as endangered, such as the Coxen Fig-Parrot and the Regent Honey eater\'s to thrive.

What a place!

  • 5 of 5

We spent two nights at the Eco friendly lodge and loved it!

After finishing work late on the Friday night, we were met by the very hospitable Michael at the local tavern who showed us to and around the property. Our puppy loved the open land and dam, plenty of space to run around. We enjoyed the great walk, which is apart of the property walking to a relatively close water fall. Best of all was the house's balcony overlooking the valley. So nice that I popped the question to my now fiancée!. Michael was very kind even offering to light the fire place for us on arrival! An absolute gem!

Tranquil haven

What a beautiful property and location. A real sanctuary for those wanting to be surrounded by nature. Michael was very friendly and informative on both the property and the local amenities. Our two boys loved the property, we explored the fruit trees, played soccer and toasted marshmallows - divine!

Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

Wow, this place is gorgeous! We had an amazing long weekend and thoroughly relaxed. The surroundings are breathtaking, the house is fantastic, and comfortable. The kids missed not having internet connection, but we were fine with that. Only thing that could make it better is a dishwasher, microwave, and I know it's not possible, but not quite as steep entry road, but at least it was well maintained. I would definitely recommend a stay to my friends and family, and we will go back again eventually.

Private paradise perched in tranquility

  • 5 of 5

Have just enjoyed 3 wonderful nights at the lodge and absolutely loved everything about it. Magnificent views from every window, excellent facilities, clean and welcoming. Amazing sunsets from the deck. Location was so private and perfect for an escape from the rat race. No sounds other than the birds, the fresh breeze and some lovely rain on the roof for our last night. Highly recommend a stay here, recharge and refresh, you won't regret it.
