Ocean View Cottage has a great location set up above the street and is very close to the surfing beach. The house is beautifully presented, clean and well maintained, with views across to the beach, ocean and hinterland.
Accommodation is on the one level, although there are two flights of steps up to the house from the street. The living and dining areas are generous and a reverse cycle air-conditioner and fan will keep you comfortable. We have 2 bedrooms, 2 toilets and a shower as well as a large laundry with washing machine and ironing facilities for guest use.
The main bedroom has a queen size bed and the large second bedroom has twin beds and a foldout ottoman - it can comfortably accommodate up to 3 children or 2 adults. Each bedroom is fitted with a ceiling fan.
The fully-fenced rear garden is accessed through the tiled laundry. An outside shower is available to wash off sand and saltwater.
Our part-time manager uses the small completely separate flat on the lower level.
As well as the main surfing beach, there's a large leash-free area of the beach for dogs so you can book a holiday for the whole family!
Emerald Beach - quiet village atmosphere
Emerald Beach is a small village with two great restaurants, a pizzeria (great for the kids), general store, hairdresser, video store and bottle shop.
Supermarkets and larger shops are close by at Woolgoolga and Moonee, while Coffs Harbour is about 20km south.
Award-winning Surf St Cafe (formerly Saltwater Cafe and Restaurant) is a moment away, and has been recommended by the Good Food Guide for several years ("...a relaxed and stylish vibe..."). They are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner (great for coffee), and being run by the original owners again. Open Wed - Sun.
Highly regarded "La Hacienda 101" has authentic mexican food, there is a great general store (with a good selection of DVDs and takeaway food), Pizza & Pasta restaurant and a bottle shop.
There is also a fabulous hole in the wall cafe (Wired for Coffee) open early 7 days - excellent coffee and well sourced cafe treats and produce (located on the main street between Hacienda 101 and the Pizza & Pasta restaurant).

Aug 2018 update: please note that our neighbours are currently renovating. There is scaffolding up against their wall. Our view extends from the north of the beach to the hinterland, but the scaffolding is obscuring the southern end of the beach and there may be construction noise.
