Welcome to Brooklyn, Michigan. Home of the Michigan International Speedway and located deep into Irish Hills. There are many lakes in the Irish Hills, Michigan area. Lake Columbia is one of the largest, approximately 850 acre's of beautiful water. Lake Columbia is an all sports private lake, where you can enjoy boating, fishing, water-skiing, and the list goes on.
Our home is a two story colonial with a lower level walk out.The entire home has been reconstructed in January 2008. The main level has one bedroom and full bathroom. The upstairs has three large bedroom with two full bathrooms. The walkout lower level has two bedrooms and one full bathroom. The gourmet, fully equipped kitchen is very large with an center island and many windows looking onto the lake.
The French door off the kitchen leads to a raised deck for additional relaxation on the water.
The home offers two living/family rooms for your comfort needs and a first floor laundry. This home is completely furnished from TVs to bathroom towels. Completely stocked for all your needs.
This is not a rental income property for us, but rather our summer home. We only share it a limited time each year when we cannot use it, and ask that you'd respect it as if it were your own. Thank you
This has been our 3rd time renting this home on Lake Columbia. Beautiful home and views of the lake. Large back yard with fire pit made for some fun evenings. Mom struggled to walk to the boat on her own but was able to get a golf cart to get her back and forth from house. Everything is very clean and Diane is always accessible by phone or email for any questions. Love the fact that the kids can have the whole bottom floor to themselves, mom has her bedroom/bath on the main floor to avoid steps and the rest of us are all on the 3rd floor with good views of lake from master. Cute shopping in Brooklyn for the girls and good variety of restaurants to choose from. Grocery store just 10 - 15 minutes away. Artisan Wells is a must for dinner and don't forget to go to Time Again for a great girl's shopping experience! Thanks Diane!
We were in town for my son's wedding. Since family came from all over, it was also a mini-reunion. We found the home superb. The views of the lake are magnificent. We highly recommend.
Prior to our stay, Diane was very helpful in answering our questions quickly and accurately.
We had our family reunion here and it was very special. There is ample room for larger family gatherings, as well as spaces for smaller groups to play games, chat, etc. The layout of the home is very flexible for sleeping arrangements as well. It has been recently remodeled and we found it in excellent condition. The air conditioning wasn't working for part of a day, but Diane was on that right away and it was fixed immediately. Thank you, Diane!!
We also rented the pontoon boat which allowed us to swim in various parts of the lake, since the home is on a canal which allows for younger children to wade, but not to actually swim. The surrounding area is very picturesque but we didn't even have time to explore since we were busy on the water. Maybe next time...
The listing was very accurate in giving us an idea of what our experience would be like, but it was even better! We are hoping to rent this again next summer and again make very special memories.
We had a great week and were pleasantly surprised when we walked into the house. It was great to have three levels so different activities and family members could have their own space without feeling crowded.
What a find! This lake home is a gem. The pictures do not do it justice....it is a large home! Parents could stay on main floor with out having to climb stairs, kids could hang out on first level and plenty of room on top floor to view the lake and have peace and quiet. I was a little leary of booking on a "canal" but found it to be a treat. Shallow enough for the kids to goof and fish and peaceful too. Plus the fishing was by far the best within 100 feet of the house. We caught more fish than any other lake that we have stayed on in the past 10 years. The 2 boats we rented really added to the vacation. Skiing and tubing were great for the speed boat and the adults could watch from the pontoon or do a night cruise. There is even an island on this lake to pull up to and have a picnic. Many things to do in the area for the kids....putt putt, cascade falls, deer feeding, ice cream, movies, MIS, Bunde Hill, and the grocery store is close too! God willing we will be back next year. Thanks to Diane who did an awesome job of communicating info. Thanks for the great memories!
Diane was wonderful to work with. She went out of her way to make things nice for us. We were a bit disappointed that we were really on the canal and not on Lake Columbia, but it was rather easy to walk to the lake area through the water since we were the first house down. You can not enter the lake from the "park" area adjacent to the yard. The house is beautiful, but not much seating space in the kitchen for large groups. The yard was great for the kids (big and little) to play in. They even had the extra bonus of having a basketball hoop to play with. The older kids fished for hours!
