About Don & Gail
We have managed rental properties for over 10 years in The Bahamas. We know the Islands and we are here to ensure that your vacation is one to remember.
Why Don & Gail chose Hartswell
We are yards from the Ocean with our own dock and slip, in an area of protected water with offshore deserted islands that are designated as a marine reserve, have the best beaches in all Exuma and accessible with our kayaks. We are mid way between the Eastern and Western Ends of the island and close to the best beaches.
What makes this House unique
The only way to access the marine reserve on Moriah Cay is by kayak or boat from Hartswell. It cannot be reached by a rental boat from George Town.
Canceled bookings will not receive a refund
Damage and incidentals
You will be responsible for any damage to the rental property caused by you or your party during your stay.

This was our third trip to Exhuma, and they just keep getting better! We love staying in Hartswell, as we have access to Moriah Cay, the most beautiful little islands you’ve ever seen! This was our first stay with Don & Gail. They couldn’t have been more accommodating & helpful, all the while giving us plenty of space & privacy. Their place is amazing. We were so excited to have the amazing view from our bedroom window & porch. Such a lovely way to wake up! There was actually more space than what we needed. The kitchen was nicely stocked and the bathroom clean & spacious with a walk in shower. It was a short 2 min walk to where we launched the kayaks each day. There is a nice little swimming area that we didn’t take advantage of but will next time! We would argue that this is the best spot on the island. No direct beach access but is a short kayak ride away to beautiful, quiet beaches, plenty of wildlife & flats for bonefishing. Get a rental car as it’s fun to explore up and down the island. There are many quiet, beautiful beaches and beachside restaurants to stop at. It is the perfect way to spend the week!
Megan, Thank you for your kind words. we hope to see you again
perfect stay, beautiful property, available host
Nice private area in Exuma. Owners are very helpful and knowledgeable about all areas and activities. Their island book is helpful when exoloring.
Robert & Angela lost one of their 5 nights due to their incoming flight being cancelled, which did not get the short vacation off to a good start.
Disappointing weather did not help.
Perfect in every way!!
From the minute my wife made the arrangements we knew we were in good hands. The communication from Don and Gail was incredibly accurate and extremely helpful. You couldn’t ask for better hosts , any questions or concerns were answered timely and honestly. This continued on thoughout our stay at Harbour View. They certainly made us feel welcome . Don’s knowledge of the island is extensive , it’s like having a private tour guide at your fingertips.
The apartment is exactly as stated , small sitting room , basic kitchen , a beautiful bedroom (with a view of Moriah Cay), and a nice large bathroom. There is balcony/deck with a million dollar view of the bay , Moriah Cay , Man-o-war cay , and the outer islands. The apartment is extremely clean ,well furnished and nicely organized. WiFi worked flawlessly the whole time we were there.
There are plenty of perfect beaches to visit on Exuma but we fell in love with Moriah Cay beach. One short adventurous trip in the kayak proved that. If you love nature , sand dunes and sand bars this is your beach , stunning pure white sand bars. You are surrounded by crystal clear water , pure white sand and sea life of all types . You are on a beautiful deserted island by yourselves, we didn’t see a person our whole stay on the beach.
It is highly recommended that you rent a car (we used Thompson’s) , shopping was easy at Exuma market in Georgetown they have all your needs. While there stop in at Sonia’s just across the street for Conch salad or fritters we thought it was excellent. As for restaurants there are , Santana’s on the beach , Shirley’s in Georgetown , Freddie’s (mostly takeout) just across the bridge.5 mins from Harbour View . For a special night out try The Rusty Anchor (exceptional). Don and Gail know all the restaurants just trust them .
We really enjoyed our stay at Harbour View, this trip was exceptional. Don and Gail’s hospitality and knowledge of Exuma was invaluable and made our trip completely satisfying. We would recommend a stay at Harbour View to anyone considering a Exuma vacation adventure. If you only want to see your footprints in the sand then is is the place for you. Consider this ; Breathtaking views , beautiful shades of blue water , flour like white sand and perfect hosts that welcome you like family. Thank you Gail for the birthday cake.
Gail and I thank you both for being the perfect guests. Thrilled that the trip was a roaring success. Hope to see you again.
Absolutely Incredible! Don't look anywhere else. Stay here!
Right away, we knew this was going to be an incredible experience. Communication from the owners was quick, accurate and extremely helpful from start to finish. During our stay, they answered any questions we had. The home was clean and extremely comfortable. The views, INCREDIBLE, both inside and out! The home had everything we needed for our stay...they even included items for a day at the beach. Such a nice touch! Access to a 2 person kayak made the trip complete. The owners gave us information about Moriah Cay and told us where to explore, which we did on multiple occasions and didn't regret it! Words can't describe how perfect this place is. I would recommend to anyone that they stay here! You'll have a blast! We will be back!
Our home is 60 yards from the Ocean and off the main highway. We have our own dock and kayak launch slip. We overlook Moriah Harbour Cay which is a deserted and protected marine reserve. The waters between our home and the Cays are sheltered and calm and a 10 minute kayak ride takes you to the beautiful beaches and warm turquoise waters that the Bahamas are famous for and where yours will be the only footprints. Voted one of the five best islands to live in a recent MSNBC article. The area is recognized as one of the best for Bone fishing.
