The entire upper level is for rent with its own entry staircase leading to a balcony with view of both the North and South sides of the island of great Exuma. The balcony is equipped with loungers and table and chairs for outside dining.

As you enter from the Balcony the kitchenette is ahead of you with fridge, electric grill-pan, coffee maker, microwave & toaster oven and sink.
Turning right from the Balcony leads to the master bedroom suite, over 28 ft long with double windows to appreciate the amazing views. The bedroom has a walk-in closet & en-suite bathroom with double sink and walk-in shower.
All accommodation is equipped with fans and air conditioning.
Your hosts: Your hosts have many years in the hospitality business, have lived on the island for 15 years and are on-site to assist when you have questions.
The surrounding area: The villa is set on elevated ground with views of both the North and South shores of this tropical island paradise. From our own dock you can use our 2 person kayaks across the sheltered bay to the deserted island of Moriah Cay. This large marine sanctuary is where young grouper fish, rays, turtles and conch grow to maturity. The island has miles of white soft sand beaches to walk and search for shells. Or explore the inland lake and watch the Ospreys fishing. The colors of the waters vary according to the depth, from dark turquoise to pale green. The chances are that the only footsteps you will see are your own. Rent a car and explore the island and visit the many picture perfect beaches... That's why Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed here. According to MNBC Exuma is among the top 5 tropical islands you must visit. We hope to see you.
Things to Do: Whether you sport is scuba diving or kiteboarding, snorkeling or just relaxing in the sun on a pristine beach, Exuma can provide the venue and Harbour View the setting.
You could eat out at a different restaurant every day, many located on a beach, where local fare such as Conch, either as cracked conch (fried in batter) or conch salad, or fresh grouper or lobster. If international cuisine is more to your taste we have Sandals Resort where you can get a day pass.
We have managed rental properties for over 10 years in The Bahamas. We know the Islands and we are here to ensure that your vacation is one to remember.
We are yards from the Ocean in an area of protected water with offshore deserted islands that are designated as a marine reserve and accessible with our kayaks. We are mid way between the Eastern and Western Ends of the island and close to the best beaches.
The only way to access the marine reserve on Moriah Cay is by kayak or boat from Hartswell. It cannot be reached by a rental boat from George Town.
My husband and I stayed at Harbour view for the best 9 days of my adult life. My husband planned the trip and I went into it with no expectations to avoid disappointment but even if I would have set my expectations as high as possible, this vacation would have exceeded them.
We had a rough travel day, so finally arriving on the island and getting our first glimpse of the most saturated turquoise water we had ever seen, sinking our tired feet into the white powdery sand, while feeling the warm tropical breeze on our skin, set all the stress of the day far, far behind us.
We rented a car to explore the island, which is absolutely recommended. There is so much to see, so a car is a must. Adjusting to driving on the opposite side of the road was an adventure straight out of the gate, but provided some good laughs. When we arrived at Harbour View, which was less than 30 minutes from the airport, we were greeted with 2 warm smiles from Don & Gail. I knew instantly that they were kind and genuine folks, which was comforting. They made us feel right at home and gave us the best advice when we asked all throughout our stay.
The room is lovely. You can't beat the view from the bed. It was incredible waking up to a view of the Mariah Harbour Cay every morning. The kitchen had everything we needed and we loved the shower. We enjoyed many evenings on the lovely spacious deck as well.
If you're worried about what to do and how to navigate the island, if you stay at Harbour View, scratch that off the things-to-worry-about list, because Don has created the Holy Grail of information about the island in the form of a binder full of restaurant suggestions, beaches & maps of how to get to everything. It was invaluable. We didn't leave the house without it. Don and Gail are also there whenever you have questions about anything. You only see or hear them when you need them. I don't know how they did it but we felt totally secluded and alone but with one ring of a bell, they were right there with loads of great information. We really appreciated that.
The best part about Harbour View were the kayaks. Don loans them out for you to kayak and explore The Moriah Harbour Cay. It was our first time kayaking and we LOVED it! It will certainly not be the last time. We chose to explore the Cay 3 days out of the 9. Let me tell ya... It. Is. Beautiful. We visited 8 beaches along the island and the Moriah Harbour Cay was our favorite. And we didn't see one single person any of those day
Harbour View was a great rental experience from the very first email to Don. Always prompt replies and really helpful, especially in arranging our car rental. Don and Gail are lovely friendly hosts with lots of local knowledge. We spent most of our time kayaking over to Moriah Cay, fabulous fun. A nice short paddle over to paradise! I have to mention the most amazingly comfortable big bed with the best view in the world! The kitchen area is compact, but very well equipped. The local restaurants are excellent and the takeout jerk chicken from town is fantastic. Happily, Harbour View is close enough to get the takeout back and still hot! We have been visiting various Bahamian islands over the last 10 years, without doubt this is the best island. The beaches are unbelievably perfect...... the shades of blue in the water will take your breath away. Most of the time you will have the beach all to yourself. Seeing only your footsteps in the sand is, for me, the ultimate experience. We cannot wait to go back!
Harbour View was perfect for what we were looking for in our vacation. The owners Don & Gail were amazing! Don was a wealth of information before we got there and throughout the entire time we were there. He even offered to be our guide on a private boat we rented at Minn's, which was awesome because he knew all the great spots to visit. Everyday he would give us suggestions on where to dine & set up a couple excursions for us as well. As others mentioned even though they live in the downstairs portion of the home you don't even know their there unless you seek them out. The upstairs portion had everything you need with you own little kitchenette. We arrived on a Sunday & everything was closed so Don offered to pick up a few things for us for the first night & they were waiting in the fridge when we got there. I can't stress enough how amazing Moriah Cay is & only a short kayak ride from the house. Also, we did the all day trip excursion with 4 C's but would recommend a half day over the full day. Many thanks to Don & Gail for making our trip unforgettable and we can't wait to come back!
If vacation spots had a clutchness scale, Don and Gail's home would be a 10/10. Everything far exceeded our expectations. They were fantastic hosts and my girlfriend and I will definitely visit again. Adding to that, the pictures of the incredible views and beaches honestly do not do the real thing justice. Also you'll need to rent a car if you want to go into town or to other beaches. I'd recommend Berlie's Rentals, they're the cheapest (prices start at $60 a day) and I personally think his cars are in better condition than some of the other rental companies.
We love Exuma and have been several times enjoying the laid-back lifestyle and wonderful weather. The Moriah Cay area is hands down the best on the island with sheltered water, amazing beaches within a short paddle by kayak (provided by the owners), and stunning views.
Harbour View was just as advertised - a pristinely clean and comfortable apartment and Don & Gail are great hosts. They answered our million and one questions and were a great source of island information. We are already booked again for two weeks in February, and can't wait!
We missed out on seeing the swimming pigs this time, but will ensure we take the trip in Feb, as well as visiting some of the restaurants on the extensive list of options that our hosts provided.
Thanks Don and Gail for sharing your paradise. See you again soon.
This was our first trip to Exuma and we could not have been happier with our choice. Don and Gail are fantastic hosts. They were available when needed but never intrusive. We spent our nights looking at the stars from the huge terrace and our days exploring the beaches and locations recommended by Don and Gail. The binder that Don and Gail created is priceless. We brought it along and explored many of their recommendations. Moriah Cay was a short kayak trip away and well worth it. We were the only ones on the island and were privy to the beautiful ocean and beaches where we saw a small nurse shark. The beaches look like an advertisement for a travel brochure. This was the most relaxing vacation that we have had in years. You won't be disappointed with your choice of Exuma or Harbour View.
The apartment is totally perfect for a couple who want to relax, get away from the crowds and enjoy the best beaches we have ever seen. We could not recommend it more! Plenty of room for 2 couples or a family. Not ideal for a family with young children or someone who wants lots of shops and restaurants on the doorstep. For us the highlights were:
1. Using the apartment's kayak to go 10-15 minutes across the bay to Moriah Cay - 2 miles of deserted beaches and incredible turquoise sea. We took a picnic and spent 4 days there, and only saw someone else once.
2. Sitting on that fabulous balcony enjoying the stunning 180 degree harbour view, and fabulous sunrises and sunsets.
3. Hiring a small motorboat for the day from George Town and doing some great snorkelling around the reefs in Elizabeth harbour.
4. Our hosts Don and Gail were wonderfully helpful and welcoming and their recommendations on what to do and the best restaurants were spot on, as were their directions! We ate out half the time, and also greatly enjoyed using the BBQ and eating on the balcony, enjoying those views....
Our home is 60 yards from the Ocean and off the main highway. We have our own dock and kayak launch slip. We overlook Moriah Harbour Cay which is a deserted and protected marine reserve. The waters between our home and the Cays are sheltered and calm and a 10 minute kayak ride takes you to the beautiful beaches and warm turquoise waters that the Bahamas are famous for and where yours will be the only footprints. Voted one of the five best islands to live in a recent MSNBC article. The area is recognized as one of the best for Bone fishing.
Other Activities: fishing, bone fishing, kite boarding, shelling, wind surfing, snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving, sun bathing, beach exploring, boat trips, kayaking, paddle boarding, perfecting the art of doing nothing!
