Summertime Cottage is the ideal location for a relaxing break away with or without the family! Relax in laid back shack style with only a bottle of wine between you and the beach. Light the fire, drag over a couple of easy chairs and kick back…
This spacious and cosy cottage combines comfort and convenience with an outlook that is to be envied! Stunning views from inside and out as you take in the absolute beauty and quiet activity of Southport’s bay.
The beach fishing is second to none. A fishing rod will soon have a couple of good sized flathead in the bag. Squid can be caught from the end of the jetty at night, under the light. Huge Oysters and mussels can be collected off the rocks past the boat ramp at low tide.
Whether you are after a romantic getaway, a great family holiday or a week’s fishing, your dream holiday awaits you at Summertime Cottage!
This area has become known as "Far South Tasmania" and is quite unique. There are lots of things to see and do, if you can drag yourself away from the beach.

Cute comfy holiday house
Great view and cosy with the fire going - we bought a local lobster and had a cook up ... simple facilities but functional
This place is a gem. You can watch the waves roll over the length of the beach from the couch, dining table and sun bed. The sound of the waves and the wood heater had us relaxing in minutes of arriving. The place is a perfect layout and had absolutely everything you usually forget to pack (I.e salt, oil, paper towels etc). Comfortable furnishings and very comfortable beds

We very much enjoyed Summertime Cottage and the beautiful Southport beaches. Both Crookfoot and Pearl came to visit - they were at first a bit perturbed by the presence of our dog but soon realised she was no danger to them at all. The possum came to visit too, and I know the wallabies did - it just proved harder to see them at night. We had a marvellous week, and left feeling very relaxed and very much enamoured with Southport! The beaches there are truly magical - blue, blue sea, white sands - just gorgeous. Great fishing too - not by us, but certainly observed by us. Many thanks for a lovely week/

The spot with sea views (and the day bed with a view!). Also the main room was really pleasant to sit in and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage even though it was cold and rainy most of the time!

kick back and unwind, strolls along the beach, lovely walks, had fun exploring nearby towns and attractions. would have liked a boat for fishing on the bay. great stay, didn't want to leave.
WE REALLY LIKED IT.
Southport is a sleepy little holiday village with a very small permanent population of about 20, which swells to about 200 in the peak summer period. The beach in front of the cottage is clean and safe, ideal for beach combing or just strolling. There is a nearby double concrete boat ramp in the Lune River with direct access to the bay and Southern Ocean, this is an all weather protected ramp. Bird watching, fishing, reading, walking, bike riding, boating, sailing, relaxing in front of the fire while gazing out to sea, listening to music and watching movies are just a few of the activities to be enjoyed in and around Summertime. If you are into seafood, there are millions of Oysters and Mussels to be collected off the rocks along the edge of the Lune River at low tide. Beach Cottage. Other nearby places of interest are the Lunaris Gemstones, Hastings hot thermal pool and caves, Ida Bay Tourist Railway, a leisurely picnic trip to Reserche and Cockle to check out the rich Aboriginal and French history. The Tahune Airwalk is always a great thing to do. Take a car ferry from Kettering across to Bruny Island and spend a night or two over there.
