The 'Salty Dolphin' is a spectacular canal home with over 2,000 square feet of clean, uncluttered, living space with direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. This home offers a contemporary, Caribbean flare with many special touches by the owners. The lanai has an extra large heated pool with a cage and baby barrier gate (optional), a cushy seating area with a bar, grill and lounge chairs. Double dock for your boat and a new seawall. The quiet neighborhood is great for walking, running and biking and is only minutes to Fisherman's Wharf & the downtown area. We welcome short-term & long-term rentals. Whether you are coming for a week family vacation in the sun, to visit family over the holidays, a couple looking to get away or explore PGI real estate, or are retirees getting away from the cold weather, you'll find our home a great fit. Our master bedroom overlooks the pool and we have a queen guest room and a third guest room suitable for children or another couple. We are child/baby-friendly.


AIRPORTS: PGI (Allegiant) is 10 minutes; 40 minutes to RSW in Fort Myers; 1 hour to SRQ in Sarasota; or 1 hour and 45 minutes to TPA in Tampa.

GREAT LOCATION: Punta Gorda is one of Florida's last great gems. It's a boaters paridise with great cruising/sailing and fishing right from your back door. The atmosphere is casual and low key and the people here are friendly and helpful. There is a beautiful historic downtown with shops and restaurants. The town is off the beaten highway path, yet close and easy access to everything you need. Beautiful beaches, unlimited shopping, children's attractions, movies/theater and cultural activities are all readily available within short drive.


SHOPPING: Less than 5 minutes to Fisherman's Village and lots of charming local shops in town or several major shopping malls about a half hour drive. Several Grocery Stores, Drug Stores, Banks, Super Wal-Mart and Home Depot within 2-5 miles.

BOATING: Bring your power boat or rent one at Holidaze. The double wide boat dock is just steps from the pool. We are a 20 minute canal cruise to Charlotte Harbor.

RESTAURANTS: Fisherman's village and lots of great restaurants downtown all within 5 minutes. Jack''s and Lashey Marina are two of our favorites.

Lots of Extras

Meticulous owners have included lots of extras. Nice linens are provided including beach towels, beach chairs and coolers. The owners have added many special touches to ensure your vacation is perfect and carefree. We welcome couples who are looking for a romantic get away, snow birds seeking long term rentals and young familes who are visiting family in the area. We are family friendly to those with young children and offer a high chair, packnplay and toys. If you are renters who return to the area a couple of times a year, ask us about storing personal items for your return visit.

Home is maintained with much TLC. It has all the little extra touches you won't find in most rentals. The master bedroom, living room and kitchen all open to the pool with an open, airy feel. It's extremely clean, uncluttered and well furnished. Very convenient location yet in a quiet neighborhood.

What makes this house unique

PGI is a friendly, laid back boating community. Our pool is an oversized, heated pool,, not one of those little tiny 'bathtub' pools. Great for swimming laps, floating in the sun with a cocktail or playing with the children. Comfortable, one floor living with easy flowing floor plan open to the lanai. Quiet neighborhood, great neighbors and convenient to everything you need.

Much more than a Great Pool

While the home has a great pool, it's a big one, the whole package is truly spectacular. The updated home is super clean and has everything you need from the comfy beds, to the two reclining living room chairs (his and hers), everything you would need in a kitchen (including a nice selection of Tervis Tumblers) use of a gas grill on the lanai with nice outdoor seating and a great master shower.

Everything is labeled which helps a ton and the owner, Lisa is just text message away with any questions.

We found that we loved Punta Gorda and will keep coming back.

We had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful. The pool was so relaxing. Did a little fishing off the dock. Met one of the neighbors who was really nice. The area is so pretty. We found many great restaurants close by. We would love to book it again. We also did alot of sight seeing.

Winter in Punta Gorda

While, I have rented condos in other parts of Florida, this was our first experience renting a house. The Salty Dolphin is a comfortable home in a quiet neighborhood about two miles to Fisherman's Village and about the same in the other direction to Ponce deLeon Park. We are walkers so we logged many miles during our stay, and found the location to be very convenient. Within a half mile there is a 7/11, a plaza with a restaurant, a wonderful pottery studio and a fun consignment store.

The house has a HUGE swimming pool and once the weather started cooperating, we enjoyed that very much. The Master bedroom and bath were spacious and well appointed, and the kitchen was stocked with just about everything you might need.

We got off to a bumpy start with a mix up by the cleaning crew, and found ourselves doing laundry upon arrival. There were issues with the Internet, and the pool to name a few but Derrick was very thorough in resolving things. He was most accommodating. The house is stocked with things for young children(which we don't have) and would be a great space for extended family, as there are two wings to the house. The view of the canal was great, and we enjoyed the egrets, and the boats going up and down the canal.

We loved Punta Gorda, and ended up purchasing a condo in the general area of the Salty Dolphin. So thanks Lisa for providing a convenient temporary home base from which to explore the charming area of Punta Gorda!

Great Time at Salty Dolphin

My family -- Mr, Mrs, 11 year old son and 5 year old daughter arrived in Salty Dolphin for a long weekend getaway from our Brooklyn home. We found Salty Dolphin to be very clean, comfortable and well appointed. The kids loved the pool and spent a great deal of time frolicking in it. We all had a great time even catching fish right in the canal, although no keepers. This was our first time in Punta Gorda and we found it it be a very pleasant place. Our stay was very relaxing. Lisa gave us excellent recommendations about things to do in the area.

Amazing stay at the Salty Dolphin

My wife, 3 year old daughter and I went to the Salty Dolphin this past September for 5 days and 4 nights prior to heading off the Disney. We absolutely LOVED it. We didn't venture out much past getting groceries, so not very familiar with what sights one could see in that part of Florida... But fantastic spot right on the channel, close to the Publix grocery store, super comfortable beds, and very very clean. Very relaxing and comfortable. We spent most of our time floating around in the pool out back, which was heated, clean, and thankfully also had a child safety gate, so no need to worry about our daughter around the pool! Incredibly relaxing stay before the hectic adventures at Disney. The owner is an absolute delight to deal with to boot! Great experience, would highly recommend and cannot wait to get back to this little gem ASAP!

Excellent rental!

This was our first experience with VRBO and we will definitely be doing it again. The owner was very easy to work with and returned calls and emails promptly. The property is nicely maintained and was exactly as described. I would highly recommend this property for a nice relaxing vacation. The subdivision is nice and quiet, but still close to some stores and restaurants.
