Kooroona House Moonta Port Hughes Rural

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 1 - 3 nights

About the property

Kooroona House offers total seclusion for a completely relaxing holiday. Only 5 minutes from the most beautiful beaches, boat ramp and Moonta itself. Situated on 1.25 acres with no neighbours for half a kilometre.

Kooroona is tastefully decorated with everything you will need to unwind.

Please NOTE.

(1) You will need to bring sheets towels and pillow cases.

(2) Kooroona is not suited to very young children due to many breakables.

(3) Kooroona is surrounded by farmland and is subject to the vagaries of rural life.

(4) Kooroona like the majority of YP holiday rentals are " dry hired". You are required to leave Kooroona clean and tidy, as you found it, on departure. The price reflects this.

It is not rented as a Bed & Breakfast which would make it more expensive.

Other attractions include the Dunes golf course, fishing charters, history of Moonta mines, scenic drives to the bottom end including Innes National Park, excellent shopping, places to eat, coffee places, surfing and spectacular coastal scenery.

Pets with responsible owners welcome, but you MUST tell us if you are bringing a pet and outside unless by STRICT arrangement.

christmas stay

  • 3 of 5

old beds very hard mattresses .house very dark much clutter everywhere, looks like someone goes to garage sales buys stuff and then finds somewhere to put it. kitchen bench has again clutter ,must be 4 oil pots around stovetop and empty jars. found about 6 useless frying pans when 1 decent pan would be better.

Owner's Response: Sorry to hear you didn't enjoy your stay Jason. It was obvious that at least your dog enjoyed its stay. The photos of the house clearly show the lovely old brass, cast iron and wooden fretwork beds. The queen size bed has a pillow top mattress which guests usually find very comfortable. We don't go to garage sales, but we do go to upmarket kitchenware shops. The "jars" were brand new glass canisters. We will certainly get rid of the excess fry pans when we can find them.

Kooroona House - 12 out of 10

  • 5 of 5

Best holiday house on the York Peninsula. Relaxing, inviting and enjoyable holiday house. Calm, peaceful and enjoyable place to stay. Private and secluded, yet so close to Moonta main street and Moonta Bay & Port Hughes jetties. Perfect in every way and AFFORDABLE !! Well done as always. Our 6th stay there in 5 years. The York Peninsula is breath-takingly beautiful and we wouldn't stay anywhere else whilst holidaying there - end of story.

Peaceful & Great for Dogs

  • 4 of 5

All in all, my partner and I really enjoyed staying at this property. We loved that you had such a large yard with secure fences for the dogs. The outdoor setting was peaceful, shady and a lovely place to cook on the BBQ and eat. The kitchen was fully stocked with almost everything you may need (excluding cake tin) which was very handy. The bedrooms were all nicely decorated and there was always something to look at in every room. I love the small touches like the picnic basket and the pet magpie who came and sat at the table with us. The only downside was the adequate cleanliness, we found underwear from a previous tenant and there was only 2 toilet rolls on arrival. Other then that we would definitely come back. Thank you so much for the opportunity to relax and enjoy the local beaches.

Owner's Response: Our normal practice is to supply 2 toilet rolls. We did the check and a thorough clean before Katrina went in, but the underwear must have been well hidden.

Peacefull, excellent

  • 5 of 5

the house has a warm inviting charm, the garden and surrounds attract the local birdlife and the baby gecko who at about 20mm sat on my hand with mouth at maximum open capacity squeaking at me in anger, certainly was punching above its size to weight ratio. The spaces are large and comfortable, everything a holiday maker who enjoys a peaceful rural retreat without a caravan park feel will enjoy.
