We have a guest house complete with a second kitchen, hot tub overlooking the forest, sledding hill right behind the house, deck with picnic tables and bear and coyote viewing.
My friends and I enjoyed our stay! The cabin was warm and cozy with a beautiful gas fireplace and a wonder spa on the deck. There is plenty of room with a very open feel to the. Cabin. We would love to return with our children and grandchild in the near future!
We stayed the first week of January, 2017. Unlike some of the other
reviewers, our dilemma was not too little snow, but too much. There
were times that we were snowbound, a rare occurence that other renters
of any house this time of year might need consider. That said, the
house itself was terrific, the views of several feet of fresh fallen
snow were fantastic and ``magical'', our own hill behind the house to sled
on, a functioning hot tub, lots of room, a blazing fast internet,
pleasant neighbors, clean, well lit, and warm. A private service came
and removed snow when it got too deep on the stairs (though we
shoveled too). The house was immaculate when we arrived and Christmas
lights were burning. Kathy Winkelman was a terrific (remote) host
and answered all our questions and gave advice by e-mail on a daily
basis. We strongly advise anyone visiting Lake Tahoe to stay here if
The property was quaint, comfortable, and well outfitted. The owners were very helpful and always responded within a few minutes of us reaching out to them. The cabin is in a great location backed up against a nature preserve with plenty of surrounding wilderness yet only a few minutes drive to great amenities in South Lake Tahoe. We would highly recommend to anyone looking for a mountain getaway.
My family and I was in this cabin from Dec 17-19th. Only down fall about this property is that it's a 2 story and we had to carry all of our luggages and things we brought to cook with up to the cabin. It's a lot of work to walk everything up to the cabin. Garage was excluded for us to use. But other than that it's a very nice property. No snow for us so we had to drive out to the find some for the kids. The kids love the attic! Everything was kept nice and clean so we did enjoyed the stay.
Kathy is very warm person and great in helping us through the reservation process. Her house is so cozy for the Tahoe winter, it has a true home feel to it. Our 9 year old daughter and two friends had a blast in this kid friendly house. They slept on the attic space with sleep bags by themselves, it's like a girls sleepover, they had so much fun. The hill slope next to the house is a great place for them to do sledding. We adults have enjoyed the hike along the creek and the hot tub so much! Would love to return sometime again.
Excellent clean house. All essential amenities. Lots if beds and bedding.
