My family lives in Knoxville, TN. We love to ski and enjoy outdoor summertime activities
Dale Read purchased this townhome in 2000
I first visited Snowshoe in 1996. I quickly realized this was the best place to ski in the Southeast US and decided to buy a condo. Our family enjoys Snowshoe in the winter for skiing and the summer for the cool weather and all of the great activities.
You will enjoy a fantastic view from master bedroom. This townhouse is nestled in the woods and very homey cabin feel to it, but is also an easy walk to the slopes and the village.
Great for family memories.
we spent new year's eve at this property. there were a lot of things that you might need for cooking.everything is new and clean. beds in bedrooms were comfortable enough.it was more than enough space there for 7 of us. it is really will take you 5-10 minutes by walk to get to the center of village and to slopes. it is also 5 min walk to a small grocery store, in case you forgot to buy something in advance. we were very happy to find that store cause i was needed some ointment because of my great fall) we totally loved the location of this treetop property. the owner Dale was very sweet and quickly responded to every my letter. the only thing we didn't like is the door that couldn't be closed in bathroom downstairs. there were some gap between the wall and door and we had some discomfort using it. but all in all i would totally recommend this place to stay.
We love staying at Treetops 1. It is an easy walk to the slopes and village. And, the downstairs has plenty of space so we always end up being the place that hosts friends for dinner, drinks, games etc...
This treetop unit was a great place to stay! The location is perfect for walking to the village. Everything was clean, the interior was nicely decorated, and best of all the kitchen was well stocked. Unlike most of the places I've stayed up here, there were plenty of plates, utensils, knives, cookware, etc. it may seem like a small detail, but it definitely makes for a much more enjoyable stay. Additionally, the washer dryer combo was new and worked great. Will definitely put this place at the top of the list for future snowshoe trips.
Treetop 1 was a great location for all the festivities during the Freefall Festival. Close walking distance to the Village Center through a small path behind the townhouse. It was also in close proximity to Ballhooter lift that provides access to the lake. Our 4 kids ages 5 - 12 loved it and want to make it an annual tradition.
Our August trip to Snowshoe happened because of a wedding in the family. The location of this townhouse was ideal. Although I had no idea where I was going to end up, we were a very short and convenient walk to the wedding/reception and the village. We parked the car when we got there and never had to use it again. This particular townhouse was at the end of the Treetop complex, and that made it perfect.
The house itself was very nice--well furnished and clean. It was a warm weekend, and the fans provided helped tremendously.
Though not needed, the owner left plenty of contact info in case we needed it. Our check-in/check-out instructions were thorough.
If I make it back to Snowshoe, I would very likely check to see if Treetop 1 is available!
Wonderful place for our extended family of kids/grand babies. Plenty of room and plenty of heat to stay warm. One reviewer said the fireplace was out, but we were able to get it working by lighting the pilot light. Kitchen was very well stocked with pots/pans, utensils etc for us to cook our meals. Beds were comfortable, snow room was exceptional to keep boots and ski's and get suited up for skiing. Dale, the owner, was very helpful and friendly.
We were too tired each night to get out so we never tried any of the restaurants or activities other than night skiing. The walk to catch the bus for night skiing is not super close (especially in ski boots :) ) but some of our group did it twice. Also, make sure you are at the right bus stop that goes to Silver Creek. Note to get to Snowshoe slopes......walk through the woods and the Mountain Lodge lobby rather than behind the building.....it seemed easier and was a last minute warm-up before getting back outside in the cold.
Would definitely come back to this location!!!
