About Ann Harold, French Broad Real Estate Company

We've always loved the mountains and Hot Springs is a delightful little village, with great restaurants, interesting local shops and literally on the Appalachian Trail. The French Broad River is an added boost, with fly-fishing, rafting and swimming and just plain relaxing.

Over the past few months we have replaced the interior window treatments, added window screens, replaced and added several pieces of furniture, added chairs and a hammock to the fit pit area, upgraded the landscaping (an ongoing effort!), upgraded kitchen cookware and utensils, upgraded the gas fire place, added games, books and magazines to enhance the cabin experience and added a phone for our guests' use.

Sherwood Cabin has been a Hot Springs favorite, especially for those who want the convenience of being close to town but also want privacy.

What makes this cabin unique

Sherwood has all the amenities you need - she is quaint, comfortable, close to Hot Springs and truly a retreat get-away. It is the best place to re-connect, re-energize, re-group and reflex - all while having a wonderful time!

Guestbook comments from the manager

Really enjoyed my stay at your cabin! Quiet, clean, beautifully furnished, and did I mentioned QUIET? Close enough to town to visit the local community and had the best omelet I have ever had at the local diner on Main Street. It had everything I needed and more-wish I could have stayed longer.

Great retreat in the woods. Very secluded!

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a relaxing getaway with mountain views this is awesome. The spot was close enough to Hot Springs (5 minutes) but far enough away where you could have privacy. Mountain views surround the property and good hiking near by. We loved the gas fire place with convenient timer, amazing hot tub, fire pit, and hammock (perfect for look at the stars). I would recommend this to anyone looking to getaway. Couple of things: fridge/freezer is about half the size of a standard one and the kitchen area is smaller. Also, the roads were windy and somewhat steep. We have a small compact car and made it up fine, but just be aware with heavy rains or snow. All that said we would recommend this to anyone and look to go back soon!

A perfect tucked away retreat in the mountains

  • 5 of 5

We decided to have a destination Christmas and invited our family to meet at this cabin. We felt totally at home in this cozy home and felt all the comforts we needed. The view was great, we loved the fire pit, and enjoyed taking in the scenery from the hot tub. The beds were really comfortable and so was the couch (perfect place to chill after hiking max patch in the rain!!!) We will definitely book here again when we come back!

Relaxing Weekend Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, along with our best couple friends, stayed a long weekend at the Sherwood Cabin and we LOVED IT!!!! My husband is not big on trips but he has not stopped talking about how great the weekend was and how we need to find a time to go back! It travel a bit for work and I have pretty high standards for accommodations and I was very pleased with the rustic amenities of Sherwood.

The cabin is pretty secluded but just a 5 minute drive from the spa, shops and restaurants in Hot Springs. On the road up to the cabin, there are a few other cabins along the way. We never heard anyone the entire time we were there other than a man walking his dog. I would recommend a 4x4 vehicle to get up to the cabin. There are some steep and sharp curves to get there. But once you do, it is so worth it!

The outdoor fire pit is absolutely fabulous. Bring some chocolate and marshmallows and definitely make s'mores! We were unable to use it due to rain though.

We used the hot tub. It was very clean and the temperature was perfect for a fall night.

The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and supplies! Just bring your food.

The beds were nice and comfy. A little squeaky, but I think that is part of the character of the place! The TV picks up most stations, but is a little on the small size. I would recommend getting a larger TV.

Overall, the cabin is small, but the high ceilings, porch and loft make it feel so much larger.

If you are looking to getaway, for a weekend or longer (if you are lucky), Sherwood Cabin should definitely be on your list!
