My husband and our dog wanted to get away for Christmas and this was the perfect cabin!!! We had sooo much fun. It had everything you need in the kitchen and the view was spectacular. We can’t wait to go back!

Very cozy and nicely situated.

Great experience and I would return. The only recommendation I have is to have Wi-Fi. It would have helped for weather and especially directions and maps.

Loved the cabin itself & the area, a few minor issues...

  • 4 of 5

The cabin itself was quaint, homey, comfortable, and the views were just spectacular. Close to town to dine in or walk through the shops or use the WiFi when necessary. I loved that the cabin had no WiFi itself so that my husband wasn’t attached to his phone on our honeymoon!

Stopped by the Ingles a few towns over on our way in for groceries, so we had everything we needed in that sense.

Sitting out on the porch was the best whether it was on the rocking chairs or in the hot tub (which was sparkling clean for us).

*Why not five stars? The cabin really needed to be dusted. There were cobwebs everywhere. Admittedly, it’s difficult to dust the logs/wood where the majority of the dust and cobwebs were, but still it was obvious that a thourough clean was necessary. Especially because the book about the amenities was not updated on how to use the gas fireplace, so we were searching for the “remote” for the fireplace & saw that it also needed vacuuming under the couch and beds. The Sherwood book for info on the cabin and town needs to be updated for sure- especially on that blasted fireplace. It only worked once for us after the maintenance guy fixed it (he was so awesome and friendly- had a good time chatting with him) before it crapped out on us again :( The shower had no hot water for 3 of the 5 days we were there- mainly because of the difficulty of getting in touch with the real estate company. Once we finally got in touch with them, things went pretty smoothly.

About Ann Harold, French Broad Real Estate Company

We've always loved the mountains and Hot Springs is a delightful little village, with great restaurants, interesting local shops and literally on the Appalachian Trail. The French Broad River is an added boost, with fly-fishing, rafting and swimming and just plain relaxing.

Over the past few months we have replaced the interior window treatments, added window screens, replaced and added several pieces of furniture, added chairs and a hammock to the fit pit area, upgraded the landscaping (an ongoing effort!), upgraded kitchen cookware and utensils, upgraded the gas fire place, added games, books and magazines to enhance the cabin experience and added a phone for our guests' use.

Guestbook comments from the manager

Really enjoyed my stay at your cabin! Quiet, clean, beautifully furnished, and did I mentioned QUIET? Close enough to town to visit the local community and had the best omelet I have ever had at the local diner on Main Street. It had everything I needed and more-wish I could have stayed longer.
