We stayed at Tikkandi over the Australia Day weekend. It was spacious and comfortable and was ideal for couples and children. The location was great and allowed us to cover off what we had planned for the weekend. The booking process was hassle free and we could easily stay at Tikkandi again in the future. Thanks again!
Awesome, we loved this house.
Loved the views and how close it was to mt Buller
House was very clean and cosy
We will return soon
Warning ! do NOT book with these people!
Warning! Do NOT fall for their cheap rates ! the owner took a bond from us and never returned $100 of that bond money. During our stay we brought a safety issue to his attention and despite lateron realising this was a false alarm, he took the liberty of taking $100 out of our bond! Since then he hasnt been returning calls and never returned the money despite having agreed to give our money back! Be Warned!!!
Leila, I'm disappointed you have left this review. After repeated requests from you to check in early and check out late (and after repeated responses from me advising I was happy for you to do so subject to the availability of the property manager who requires sufficient time to service the property between guest bookings) we arranged for you to do so at no additional cost to you. You left frantic messages and texts about an ‘emergency’ explaining that you were on the mountain and had left something cooking on the cooktop and was worried about burning the house down. I explained that I was in Melbourne and would call the property manager to go to the house and investigate. The property manager was out with her family some distance away and rushed to the property. The property manager advised me you had not left anything on the cooktop. I advised you the same and that the property manager would probably invoice me for the call out and inconvenience. On the day of your departure you text me 'Firstly I’d like to thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us - we very much enjoyed our stay and will leave positive feedback’. I then advised you of the charge for the call out fee and deducted this from the bond when I received the invoice from the property manager. I value honest and constructive feedback and we consistently receive great feedback from our guests. This review is factually incorrect and what’s more troubling, is that you are prepared to unfairly rate the work of the property manager to get back at me. Hosts be warned, disingenuous and vindictive guests such as this one who don't want to take any personal responsibility for their actions and then blame others should be avoided.
Tikkandi measured up to the expectations, which we had gleaned not only from the initial advertisement, but from the early phone call/ email from Michael, which explained everything
that we need to know about the layout and running of the house. The house was clean, very tidy and above all else very well appointed. In particular, the heating arrangements, ( air con and
open fire provided a warmth which enabled great conversations, lots of board games, videos and of course a fine array of reading material. Great kitchen, although bbq was to good to not put into use for our roasts and grill nights.
Fortunately for me, but not my younger fellow travellers, not having a great wi fi or technological connection to free to air tv provided a stumbling block. All said,
I would happily recommend Tikkandi to any traveller looking for respite in great surroundings.
