About Reg and Sue

We are a family from British Columbia, Canada and have enjoyed spending vacations in Hawaii over the last few years.

We have travelled to some of the other islands in Hawaii, and found the Big Island to have the most to offer. We love the peaceful relaxing environment , and the wide range of activites and wonderful beaches.

One day we hope to spend several months of the year in Hawaii when we retire. We want to share with you, our guest, our future retirement home in beautiful Hawaii.

Reg and Sue purchased this condo in 2011

Why Reg and Sue chose Waikoloa Village

We chose our condo in this location because of the proximity to some of the best beaches on the Big Island. We also like the upscale feel of the Waikoloa area.

Reg and the boys are avid snorkelers and we really enjoy exploring the vivid underwater life that the west coast of Big Island has to offer.

This condo is also within walking distance of the Kings & Queens shopping area, with restaurants and shops so once there, you don't really have to drive anywhere.

However, there are so many great places to see on Big Island, you will probably want to rent a car anyways. Where else can you go to see a real, live active volcano! A must see for geology buffs!

What makes this condo unique

We very carefully selected our condo after researching and visiting most of the complexes on the west coast of Big Island.

The Vista Waikoloa resort is one of the best constructed buildings with very pleasing architecture and beautiful manicured grounds. It has one of the best pools on the island (heated and salt water = no chlorine and easy on the eyes).

Our ground floor unit has a very large, peaceful lanai which is very close to the pool. You can walk from the lanai to the pool in seconds without stairs or elevators. Great for kids coming and going to the pool. The pool and hot tub area is very quiet, and at times you have these places to yourself.

One of the other reasons we selected this unit was for the expansive windows, floor to ceiling on two walls. The condo is very bright, with plenty of sunlight, but still cool to be very comfortable. Our condo is properly oriented to have the gentle breeze flow through in the afternoons and evenings.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Aloha Terry,

It is wonderful to hear that your family had such a good time on Island. It is our hope that at the end of an amazing day you can come home, relax and enjoy the amenities at the Vistas. We would love to have return and create new memories.

Excellent property, great owner.

The property was terrific and perfect for us as my wife was at a conference at the Hilton just up the street.

The owners were terrific and didn’t even freak out at me when I called them at 3:30 am their time!!

Sue and Reg have a wonderful condo. It is well situated in a quiet garden and only a few steps away from the best pool ever! We appreciated the extras that Sue and Reg provided, including a well supplied kitchen, and beach chairs, boogie boards, and towels.

The area is beautiful and feels very safe. It is located in a region with several great beaches and easy drives to the island's many splendours.

Wonderful condo - will be back!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here! Reg and Sue are lovely people to work with and their condo is incredibly comfortable and well-appointed. The kitchen has everything you need. There is a/c but we found with cross breezes and the ceiling fans, we did not need the a/c. We took advantage of the beach chairs, coolers, towels and boogie boards. We took Reg and Sue's tips to heart and enjoyed A Beach (we drove to it's parking lot since it's a bit of a hike if carrying beach chairs, etc. If just walking there it is a short walk. Lava Lava has a great setting, food is ok), Hapuna Beach, Mauna Kea beach (got there by 815am in order to get a non-guest parking space), star-gazing on Mauna Kea and Volcanoes National Park. We did most of our grocery shopping at Island Gourmet in Queens. Kings has a good fish and chip shop - Island Fish and Chips. The best meal we had was at Foster's Kitchen in Kailua. It had been many years since we had been to the Big Island. We won't let too many years to go by and we hope to stay here again! Our young daughter left a cherished item behind. Reg and Sue went out of their way to help return it to us. We were so grateful!
