Cosy little cottage.

  • 5 of 5

Rose Cottage in Ballandean was a nice little base for a weekend away.

The location could not have been better. Close to some of the best wineries in the region and walking distance from the Ballandean Tavern for dinner and Le 'Bel Café for breakfast.

The cottage is comfortable, cosy, has a fireplace. little kitchen and fridge to store your loot from a weekend of wine and local produce.

Tempted to free up another weekend before the end of winter and stay again.

Nice little cottage

  • 4 of 5

The cottage is cosy, with a fire place, nothing fancy but we were very happy with our stay.

nice spot

  • 3 of 5

Although the property was adequate it was a bit tired and needed some attention to revitalize it internally and externally.

Comfortable but in need of a little love

  • 3 of 5

Definitely only for a couple or a single looking for a break in the countryside the Rose cottage is cute and functional. The bed is comfortable and the towels are big and fluffy. The kitchenette is everything I needed. On the down side the couch is not comfortable and needs to be replaced and the fire extinguisher is 15 years out of date. With an open fire and a gas cook top this could be an issue. Finding that, I started to look at everything more closely. The gardens are in desperate need of a clean-up. Garden beds are full of weeds and there is nowhere to sit in the garden and enjoy the 6 acres around it. There is a small table and chairs on the patio but it looks out towards the road. A little love and maintenance would make this a place I would love to visit again.

Owner's Response: Hi Thanks for your comments The gardens are rustic country gardens. What you think is overgrown and weeds are Californian Poppies with an Orange Flower. We let the flowers die and the seeds regrow again in the same place We do pull some out sometimes. Across the road are acres of Grape Vines. The fire extinguisher is not 15 years old. The local council inspect every year for our Licence. The couch has cushions to position where you like to for your comfort
