Misty Glen sits on the high side of the street in leafy Popes Glen (just like being in a treehouse remarked one of our guests) and offers you an escape from a busy lifestyle. Private and close to bushwalks (Popes Glen walk starts directly opposite), restaurants, antique shops, art galleries, golf courses, swimming pools and only two hours drive from Sydney.
Tastefully decorated bedrooms with queen-size beds, electric blankets and feather quilts. You can relax with a book from our small library, watch a movie from our DVD library, listen to one of our CDs, or you can bring your own. In the bathroom there is a relaxing spa bath big enough for two while out on the deck you can look out over the glen as you dine on the meal you cooked on the gas BBQ. The cottage is completely self contained with a well equipped kitchen.

The pic is my dog, Clancy. I'm a retired school teacher and muso who loves travelling both OS and within Australia. Love my dog, the Blue Mountains, Curl Curl and my friends and family but not necessarily in that order. Have a long bucket list of places to visit and have been to Antarctica, Africa, Americas - I'd better get moving if I'm ever going to get out of the As.....

Property was very clean and very well provisioned.
It is so nice to arrive in a strange place and find all your immediate needs have been anticipated and provided for. It makes for a very welcoming experience. In addition the house was very comfortable and cosy. The only downside I found was the steps to the front door. They could be an issue if you have mobility problems. Other than that we had a lovely stay for a reasonable price. Would come again.
Hi Sue, thank you for the lovely review. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and we do try to anticipate guests' needs. As for the steps, yes the cottage is not designed for those with mobility problems but we have tried to ensure that the listing shows the steps and have mentioned them as well. We look forward to welcoming you back to our little piece of heaven in the Blue Mountains.
It was perfect
Everything we could have hoped for
So glad you enjoyed your stay Cathie. Please book with us again, it was a pleasure having you as a guest.
The more time we spent in this cottage the more we loved it! Great layout, wonderful shower and such a well-equipped kitchen which really made us feel at home! Not to forget about the huge spa which after a 68km running race was pure bliss!
The fireplace was heavenly and the couch was so comfortable for lounging on! Very cosy in a peaceful location and had a great sleep in the comfy beds.
The owner was extremely pleasant to deal with and more than accommodated our request for a late check out, we'll be back!
Misty Glen is a really comfortable and homely property, with everything you could need or want provided. The kitchen is well supplied and stocked with basic cooking needs as well as some lovely extra; there is a supply of dvd's and music, loads of blankets, Doonas and pillows and loads of heating. It is located directly across from an entrance to the Pope's Glen walk, and nearby lots of other beautiful walks and views at Govett's Leap. It was a great base from which to explore the area.
Misty Glen was a fabulous property. Very well appointed and excellent position, close to walking tracks and nearby lookouts. The only possible issue was with the driveway, which was quite steep and not in ideal direction relative to Bkackheath town.
Thank you for choosing Misty Glen for your stay Paul. Actually, the driveway direction is fine because the street is a loop, you can go either left or right from the driveway to get to town but yes, like many Blue Mountains driveways, it is steep and takes a little getting used to. After a while you find reversing up is a breeze and turning at the bottom to exit right is also not really a problem especially in a small car, we do it in a Landcruiser Prado but not as easily as in my old RAV4.
Fantastic stay lovely home from home, lovely added touch of welcome basket much appreciated, my husband son and I thoroughly enjoyed the stay, beautiful views, great walks on the doorstep. Thanks misty Glen team
Thank you Avril for your lovely comments, we are happiest when guests our little piece of heaven. Come and stay again when you next visit Australia.
Popes Glen is quiet and bushy with a narrow country style lane running through it. There is a bushwalk to Govetts Leap lookout that starts directly opposite the cottage. Blackheath village is a 20 minute stroll through the Memorial Gardens. The local swimming pool is located in this area. There are amazing lookouts just a short drive away.
