Maisies Cottage - Close to Beach, Town (Sleeps 4 Adults, 2 Children)
MAISIES COTTAGE is a quaint original workers cottage from the early 1900s. Small, cosy, clean and pet-friendly and just a short walk to the pristine beach, town centre, shops, cafe's, restaurants & Busselton Jetty.
Maisies has irregularities and may not suit guests seeking all modern conveniences of today. We have blended the old traditional character of yesteryear with some modern conveniences and priced the cottage to suit families.

Doonahs, pillows, blankets all provided as standard. R/C air conditioning and gas heating in main living area. Room heaters, coffee machine, toaster, kettle, TV, additional TV in Master Bedroom, large refrigerator, outdoor BBQ, washing machine, tumble dryer, iron, complimentary baby hi-chair, port-a-cot and stroller, some complimentary bikes available (outlined below) and pets welcome by arrangement (conditions below).

We prefer guests bring their our own supply of sheets, pillow cases & towels however guests are welcome to use our supply of linen at the cottage conditional that upon departure, guests wash & dry all sheets and towels used - using the tumble dryer for fast drying prior to vacating - and return items dry and folded to the storage cupboard.

WINTER AT MAISIE'S COTTAGE
Please note it is cold in Busselton in Winter. The cottage has reverse-cycle wall mounted air conditioning unit in the main open plan living/kitchen area and a gas fire. The two main large bedrooms each have an oil column heater in each room. There is no bath, just a standard walk-in shower. As the cottage has wooden floorboards, make sure you bring warm slippers or socks for the brisk mornings. We do ask that the old traditional fireplaces and wood oven are not used as they pose a fire risk.
HISTORY OF MAISIE'S COTTAGE, BUSSELTON
We named the Cottage after Maisie, the original owner who raised her 4 children here for over 50 years. It reminds us of our past and is still a work in progress for us at every opportunity.

... We had a great time in Busselton at Maisie's Cottage it is in a fantastic location. The owners are brilliant to deal with no problems what so ever. Bond refunded very quickly. Everything you would need was there. Would recommend it with or without kids. Thank you
... Have stayed a Maisie's Cottage 3 times with our dog. Its great to have such a nice place to stay where you can bring your pet. Perfect for families with babies and children of all ages.
... We all enjoyed our 3 day stay at Maisie's cottage (3 adults /3 children)found the accommodation cosy and comfortable, outdoor bbq area was great and lots of room for kids to play, easy access to town and short walk to beach and in a nice area!
... A wonderful place for my daughter and I to have a 'girls weekend'. We didn’t put the TV on at all and were delighted with all the little knickknacks in the rooms. I've started recommending it to my friends in Geraldton and no doubt we'll be back.
... We loved our stay at Maisie's Cottage. It was clean, cosy and was everything we hoped for our holiday. It had everything we needed which made our holiday even more relaxing. We especially loved sitting out on the back deck in the afternoon sun! It was a perfect place for a family holiday. We will be back next year!
... "Maisie’s Cottage" - what a lucky find for us! A beautifully restored cottage with accommodation that has everything you need for a comfortable stay. Neat, clean, close to town and the beach. Great base to explore the region from. Will definitely repeat our visit here again later on.
... Thanks for a great place to stay right in the heart of everything we really enjoyed are stay here we will hopefully return 2016.
... We absolutely loved our stay at Maisie’s Cottage. The situation is excellent - a short walk to the jetty and beach. Our kids loved the range of toys and books (which were used more than the toys they brought with them) there were in the cottage. My father wished he could take the front veranda with him; he loved reading there in the morning sun (away from the grandchildren!). We will be back
... Thank you for your perfect family accommodation for our recent visit to Busselton. The amenities and atmosphere of your property were just what we were looking for, and the location to the town sites was great.
... The house was perfect for us - close to the beach & shops and had everything we needed, and very 14-month-old friendly. We were particularly impressed with the welcoming feeling we got from being able to share toys, books, bqq and other things.

My husband and I found ourselves stranded with our dog and new baby after arriving at a place we had booked online only to find it was filthy and not fit for us to stay in.
This is where the wonderful owner Heidi came to the rescue. She let us view her property at 7pm to make sure it was ok for our little family.
The cute cottage doesn't have all the mod cons like a dishwasher however it is very clean and comfortable and full of character, a great base to come back to. A five minute walk to bussleton jetty, the beach and just as close to the shops and restaurants. I will definitely be recommending Maisie's Cottage to anyone wanting a trip down south!!
Cute, cosy, comfy!
Had a lovely stay at Maisie's. 2 adults and 4 kids fit comfortably, loved the King size bed! The littlest kids had a great time playing with the toys. Lots of books too. The cottage was very clean with everything we needed. We were aware that the cottage is not modern but honestly we prefer the vintage vibe! Ate out most night's so cooking was never a problem. Location was great, beach at one end of the street, trendy cafe at the other. Owners were very responsive to our last minute booking and communication was excellent. We can't wait to come back!
We generally enjoyed our stay. The beds were comfortable, and the furniture good quality, but guests need to remember it is an old cottage so all mod cons are not available. In particular the cooking facilities were not as modern easy to use as expected, and the showers were as best as could be expected given the wooden floors throughout.
Dear James Kyle in South Fremantle Thank you for your review and we agree with your comments. Maisies Cottage is a small old workers cottage (C1900) and doesn’t have all the modern conveniences which people may anticipate these days. We do our best to point this out on our website and the photos are pretty much as it is reflected. Despite the lack of modern conveniences we hope the cottage represents good value for money in its current form for families and holiday makers (generally $160 per night for 4 adults & 2 children) and our nightly rate offers complimentary linen for guests if required, some bikes available and also allows them to holiday with their pets which is pretty unique.
We loved our stay at Maisie's. It was close to everything and the children loved the garden room where they mostly played. Had all the comforts.
Needs a few minor upgrades
The house would be quite adequate in most conditions, but we were there in very cold weather and the heating was not able to keep up at night. We had quite an elderly person with us who was struggling with the cold and as a result we left a day early. Also, the bed in the front room needs replacing. I did some repairs on arrival, but basically it's had its day. With a new bed, and warmer conditions, I'm sure it would be ok.
Dear Neil Giblett in Perth Just a courtesy message to thank you for your comments which we greatly appreciate. We stayed there ourselves a few weeks ago and it was freezing, so we know where you were coming from. To assist with combating the cold we have placed a new gas heater at the cottage now (in addition to the R/C a/c wall mounted unit and the two column heaters). The wafer thin doonas have all been replaced with the highest warmth rating 5/5 doonas and new queen soft fleece blankets have been placed in the robes for the rooms for additional warmth for guests if required. The old bed has been replaced with a KING size bed and tempur mattress (the type NASA use) and king sheet sets are available for guests to use complimentary (as long as they are happy to wash, tumble dry and fold away prior to their departure) as we realize guests may not ordinarily have king size linen themselves. A new blind has been installed in the main bedroom, the tumble dryer has been changed over, the boards on the front verandah boards have been replaced with beautiful 6" solid boards and we have also re-stumped the west elevation to improve the floor. We're grateful for your honest feedback and hope this resolves these issues and improves the comfort level for future guests and we hope to keep improving the old cottage as time and finances permit.
Really nice, clean and cosy cottage. Pleasant experience. Very nice people to deal with. This is where we will stay when we go down to Busselton again.
