About Neil C. Cagle
My wife and I grew up in North Carolina and have lived in New Orleans since 1980. We continue to enjoy our journey through life having been married for 50 plus wonderful years. Our son lives in Valencia, Spain. North Carolina is the home of our daughter, son-in-law and our three grandchildrens. We enjoy working with real-estate, traveling, hunting and fishing.
Neil C. Cagle purchased this House in 2008
Why Neil C. Cagle chose Barataria
Deborah Ann was purchased with the intent to update and re-sale. But within a few days, we fell in love with the location and decided to keep it for ourselves and intermittently share it with others. Thanks to those that utilize VRBO, Homeaway, Rojas Fishing Charters and other locals, it has become a 'home away from home' for us as well as others.
What makes this House unique
Located on the Isle of Barataria, Deborah Ann offers all the comforts of home and is a perfect get-away place to experience southern living on a bayou however you want to spend it. Peace and tranquility for rest and relaxation, fishing, golfing, sightseeing, meetings and conferences, sports events, festivals or just a vacation to the New Orleans area. You will enjoy the comfort of a 'home' - not a hotel room!!

Just what we were looking for!
Great place to get away from the constant hustle and bustle of the city, yet close enough to NOLA. The owner was very hospitable and responsive. The house was very clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and met or needs. We would definitely stay here again.
We didn't want to leave - definitely feels like home away from home! Your own peace of heaven!
Communication with the Cagles was very smooth and prompt in returning emails or calls. No problem whatsoever!
Prior to our arrival we were provided with lots of info on the area and as well as the property; what was expected upon courtesy. Very informative and helped us get around and find our way around the bayou.
The property is very well maintained inside and out - the home is very cozy and in a nice quiet area. Neighbors were so friendly and helpful as well.
I loved that the home has everything you need, even if you may have forgotten something there's a good chance they have it there for you. Full kitchen with all you need to cook plus extras; washer and dryer; security cameras; full cable and Netflix; all linens and bedding. Beds were cozy and comfortable.
I loved waking up and having coffee on the screened in porch and taking in all the sights, smells and sounds. We drove from Canada and we fell in love with the area so much we plan on returning again!
Also, fully stocked outside gear with fish cleaning station, hose, bbq and utensils...parking under the house off street.
We fished in the canal and had a lot of luck: bass, catfish, perch, even gar. Can't say enough how friendly the neighbors were and even their dogs would come and hang out with us. I'm a pet lover so I missed my pups back home.
We came to New Orleans for Mardis Gras but I was happy to come "home" to this peace of heaven and relax and enjoy it away from all the craziness in the city!
It's far enough away, yet just a half hour drive to go in and site see and do whatever else is on your list.
I would highly recommend this home away from home - we fell in love with it and if we could afford it or win the lottery, I'd love to live in this area!
Thanks again to the Cagle family for opening up your home to us and being so gracious and helpful - we will come again!
We stayed here prior to our cruise out of NOLA on Carnival Cruise Lines for the Western Caribbean. The house was everything we were expecting and more. We traveled with two little girls who quickly found the toys and games available to keep them entertained. We had plenty of room so that we never felt crammed in together. There was plenty of supplies in the kitchen as well as some basic pantry staples available.
The elevator was a big help bringing all our luggage up and down from the car. After a long drive from Texas the house was comfortable and a well appointed respite from the road.
Although we were there during the cooler weather days we could see the potential for a comfortable stay during the warmer months.
Neil and his wife were so friendly and accommodating. They kept us informed on events going on during our stay especially considering we were there during the start of Mardi Gras.
We would highly recommend this VRBO to anyone planning a trip to NOLA!
Thanks again for a wonderful visit ♥️
The house was a great location, close to my son who is stationed in Belle Chasse. Very clean and had everything that we needed while we stayed there. Thank you
First Time to New Orleans
This place is everything the VRBO listing says it is! We enjoyed our stay tremendously!!
