Location and transport
Mole End Cottage is situated in Walker Street, South Fremantle, a special place only 5 minutes from the centre of historic Fremantle, Western Australia's most visited destination.
Walker Street is only two streets back from the beautiful and family friendly South Beach. It is a no-through road that has minimal traffic. The beach is accessed via a path at the south end of the street.
Walker Street is a residential area with Mole End Cottage being the only short-term accommodation in the street so that when you stay here you will feel as if you are at home in your own Fremantle holiday house.
There is ample free parking in the street and one under cover bay beside the cottage however if you do not have a car you can hire bicycles from the local bike shop just around the corner and the nearest stop for the free CAT bus into the centre of Fremantle is only a 5 minute walk away.
Fremantle is well served by excellent public transport, both bus and train. Quite frankly if you are only interested in visiting Fremantle, you don't need a car.
Nearby South Beach offers safe swimming and is a great kite surfing, canoeing and sailboarding area.
There is an extensive range of reasonably priced restaurants and cafes just around the corner in South Terrace including our local pub the South Beach Hotel and the State's if not Australia's best bakery - Wild Bakery.
Fremantle boasts a large number of attractions including the WA Maritime Museum, which houses the America's Cup winning yacht Australia II and the Ship Wreck Gallery, a world leading maritime archaeology institution that tells the story of the Dutch discovery of the Western Australian coast including the infamous Batavia wreck and mutiny.
The Fremantle Prison is world heritage listed and its tours have won multiple awards.
Fremantle is famous for its art and music scene - the Fremantle Art Centre being a "must" visit and with most pubs and clubs featuring live music.
The historic harbour, unlike most in the world is still open to the public and you can enjoy a coffee at B Shed while watching ships come and go.

About Jenny Longley
I left England to live in Western Australia over 40 years ago and have lived in the same house in South Fremantle since then. We live next door to Mole End Cottage which enables us to ensure that our guests have the best possible service while they are staying in the cottage.
Jenny Longley purchased this Cottage in 1976
Why Jenny Longley chose South Fremantle
Our love of the beach led us to this area and over the years it has blossomed and become one of Perth's premier beachside destinations. The delight of this area is that it is close to the heart of Fremantle and yet is far enough away to be quiet and peaceful, with a safe beach within a short walking distance.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottage is over 120 years old but was completely restored 20 years ago so that it has the ambience of a heritage house but has the convenience of new amenities. It is light and airy and open plan and has charming outdoor living areas. It is in a friendly street with friendly neighbours.

Home away from home
We had an amazing stay at this charming and well-equipped cottage and can highly recommend it!
The moment we walked in the door, we realised special care has been taken to make guests feel welcome. The linen was fresh and crisp and everything was in excellent working order and clean. The attention to detail was apparent with little things like a variety of teas, coffees, all sorts of condiments, an amazing collection of books for old and young, tea lights and mosquito coils on the patio, tissue boxes spread throughout, bathing robes in every room, and extra beach towels for guests in the laundry. It was only a short walk to the beach and there are a variety of shops walking distance from the property. We enjoyed our stay so much, we did not want to leave. Truly a home away from home.
I am so pleased you enjoyed your weekend at Mole End Cottage Amelia and sorry that I was away and couldn't greet you myself. Your kind words are very much appreciated and I will pass them on to my cleaner who plays an important role in the way I manage the cottage.
Great place for a family stay
We loved our stay at Mole End Cottage. The property is really suitable for young kids and there are even toys and children's books to keep the kids occupied. Location is fantastic, close walk to the beach, playground just at the end of the street. Supermarkets are also very close by. The property is spacious and had everything we needed. Jenny was easy to reach if we ever had a question and accomodative to our needs. We had an enjoyable and relaxing stay and would love to return.
Thank you Jie and Alex we would be delighted to have you back at Mole End Cottage.
Classic Freo cottage is a great location.
We loved this character cottage in South Freo for its fantastic location, well-appointed kitchen, and comfortable beds. Our family of 5 was comfortable, and Jenny was helpful throughout our stay. Would definitely recommend for self-catering holiday close to the beach and CAT buses to Freo.
Loveliest cottage in Fremantle
We loved Mole End Cottage, with its proximity to Sth Fremantle, the beaches, great fresh seafood and the free bus. Our hosts made us feel most welcome. It was so comfortable we didn't want to leave.
