This is a perfect getaway from the city for a weekend retreat or week long vacation or longer. There is a large dock and seawall in the cove swimming area and a large grassy yard for games and running around. Jacuzzi Hot Tub, nice patio and screened in porch to enjoy the outside.

Heavily wooded on three sides to offer a lot of privacy.

Beautiful stone fireplace in the great room and a firepit in the yard in an open area so no dangers. Everything provided and all you have to do is bring yourselves and good company.

Large great room, fully remodeled kitchen, fully stocked silverware, DVD Player, DirecTV, wireless internet, dishes, glassware, toaster, other small appliances, etc. Pull out couch, recliner, love seat...very open great room for party atmosphere or gathering of family. Exceptional Price. This is the lake house my family uses some weeks as well so we rent for cheap instead of staying vacant and thus you can be the winner with a cost effective place to stay that is on the water and very nice.

PS - This is not the area of Atlanta known as Buckhead and is indeed an hour east of downtown Atlanta since some inquiries get confused.

Thanks! Greg

About Greg Goslin

My family grew up always having a lake house and having a retreat on the water has become important to me now with my family but we also share it with others.

Greg Goslin purchased this house in 2006

Why Greg Goslin chose Lake Oconee

We bought this home because it was in the perfect part of the lake in the nice clean water and we have the ability to get to the Ritz by boat or car in short time. We liked being in a little finger off the lake for fishing and kids to swim without boats and waves going by. The yard is great with a fire pit in the middle for marshmallows and late nights relaxing around the fire. It is so peaceful at Oconee in a seasons and a great retreat for us to get away from Atlanta. We have enjoyed so many good times at Lake Oconee with family and we are able to help many other families make great memories.

What makes this house unique

Reynolds Plantation 10 min. away', Marina with jet ski and pontoon boat rental 10 min. away', Movie theater, restaurants, Publix Supermarket, and many other things just 10 min. away. Public boat ramp about 1 mile away.

GREAT time on Lake Oconee

  • 4 of 5

We loved our first ever VRBO experience on Lake Oconee. The property sits right on one of the many fingers of the lake. We took a fishing boat and kayaks and had a great time on and around the water...when the weather cooperated! The yard slopes downhill from the house to the dock where we kept the boat. The boat was ready for immediate use and wonderfully convenient! While we didn't do as much fishing as anticipated, we did see lots of fish jumping!

The house has a very open kitchen, LR, and screened patio for family time. It was very relaxing and comfortable. Owner, Greg, was most accommodating and helpful with all my many questions before and during our stay. When we did not have WiFi as advertised, I texted Greg about it. He immediately texted back where it was and that he could call telco about it. Found it unplugged, so it was quickly remedied. You could not ask for anyone to be more helpful or responsive than Greg!

The house driveway becomes steep right before the garage. If you are parking multiple vehicles, as in our family get together, the last vehicle in becomes what you drive while there. The house did have a couple of issues, which I advised Greg of, so hopefully they will be corrected. I would definitely stay there again, but take the kayaks without the fishing boat due to driveway and limited parking.

Great lakeside getaway!

  • 5 of 5

This was the perfect girls bachelorette weekend getaway!! There was plenty of room for all of us to hang out inside and out. The beds were comfortable and the house came with so much we never thought we needed until we did! Such a laid back atmosphere which made for a fun, relaxing lakeside getaway. Would definitely recommend for a nice, quiet stay. The fire pit and hot tub were a huge plus. Thanks for providing us with the perfect stay for an unforgettable weekend!

Vacation Interrupted

  • 1 of 5

It's a decent house though the cove is much smaller than the pictures show.

The owner started texting us half way through our vacation asking if he could send his real estate agent by with prospective buyers to look at the house. The first time I declined but then received more texts describing how things were in a dire situation and the house had to be sold. We ended up leaving a day early as we didn't think it was very professional to interrupt our vacation and expect us to show the house. I asked the owner to refund us for the day/night, as we wouldn't have left had he not been so persistent about having the agent and buyers come by. This isn't something you even remotely want to deal with when you vacation once a year. He refused to refund us, we will not stay at this house again.

Owner's Response: Art Thank you for the review although I take exception in that I merely asked you if you were willing to let an agent show the property. On Friday you said you would prefer not since you guys were sunbathing. I asked it the next day would be feasible and you replied sure and just let you know what time. I texted you in the morning proposing between 1pm and 2pm but insisted that no realtor would ever be allowed to go to the house without my permission. I never heard back from you until after 3pm so I didn't get permission from you so I didn't let the realtor go. I was very confused with you sending me a message that you left that afternoon instead. Then a couple days later I received your email saying that the cove was great and house was nice but insisting on a refund of 1 night even though it was never discussed, went against the rental agreement, and wouldn't have given me the opportunity to rent to any other guests on such short notice. It was of particular concern that although you said everything was nice you were demanding a refund before posting a negative review and then in your review you say how the cove is not nice yet the exact opposite of the first sentence of your original review email directly to me. You also ignored the response I sent you and call I made to you to discuss any displeasure you had. Not to worry as I have reported this to VRBO and hopefully they will take care of the review and prevent you from trying to harm another homeowner and their family with such a review. Thank you and hopefully you enjoy the rest of your summer. Greg

Tranquility at the lake

  • 5 of 5

We had a great stay!

The owner, Greg is wonderful, responsive to any questions by phone or text . The neighborhood is very quiet, the hose sits far from the road making if very private. Wifi worked very well. The house had everything you need for a great stay at the lake. I would definitely recommend this place and we are planning to be back soon.

Thank you Greg for sharing your house!!!
