THERE ARE SEVERAL REASON THIS DOESN'T MAKE IT A 5 STAR. FIRST EASY TO ACCESS, BUT DIDNT UNDERSTAND THE PARKING PASS, BECAUSE YOU DIDINT HAVE A SPECIAL SPOT TO PARK IN AND VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND A PARKING SPOT.
THE MATTRESSES ON THE BEDS WERE VERY POOR. SO HARD, MY BACK HURT FROM SLEEPING ON THEM. ALSO THE FURNITURE (COUCH) VERY WORN, THE LEATHER COMING OFF IT AND SUNKEN IN THE MIDDLE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO SIT ON. THE INTERNET WAS TERRIBLE, NEED NOT TO EVEN SAY YOU HAVE IT, COULD NOT SEARCH ANY SITES AND COULD NOT STREAM ANYTHING. ALSO NOT MANY CHANNELS TO CHOOSE FROM ON THE DIRECT TV. ALSO THE WASHING MACHINE WAS OUT OF ORDER, WAS GIVEN INFO ON THAT BEFORE WE CAME BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE TAKEN OFF SOME ON THE RENTAL.
THE KITCHEN VERY NICE. THE MASTER BATH HAD A WASH CLOTH WRAPPED AROUND THE TOP OF THE SHOWER HEAD, DID NOT UNDERSTAND THAT. DON'T TOUCH THE BLINDS IN THE LIVING AREA AND UPSTAIRS THEY ARE FALLING APART. SOME MINOR ITEMS THAT COULD EASILY BE FIXED TO MAKE THIS A 5 STAR. ALSO THE MUSIC AT NIGHT ON THE BOARDWALK WAS VERY LOUD AND WENT ON INTO LATE HOURS....... THE ONLY HOUSE BOAT IN THE MARINA, SO YOU CANT MISS IT. THE CARTS WERE NICE TO CARRY YOUR STUFF TO THE BOAT, BUT THE INCLINE ON THE RAMP IS VERY STEEP. EASY TO ACCESS ENTRY WITH A CODE, SO NO KEYS TO KEEP UP WITH WAS NICE. WE HAD TO BUY ICE AND WATER..... THE ICE MAKER OR WATER ON THE FRIG WAS NOT OPERATIONAL. IT WAS NICE TO HAVE SOAP TO BATHROOMS, BUT NO SHAMPOO. THERE WAS KITCHEN SOAP ALSO TO WASH DISHES WITH AND PAPER TOWELS AND NAPKINS WHICH WAS NICE.
IT WAS CLOSE TO THE CITY WITH AN EASY ON AND OFF 93 AND THE FERRY AT THE MARINA RUNS TO BOSTON AND TO THE CAPE. IT WOULD NOT TAKE MUCH TO MAKE THIS A 5 STAR IN MY OPINION
We had a fun week staying at the Miss Leah. The location was perfect for us. There was five of us, one teenager, two parents & two grandparents. Getting on & off & around on the Miss Leah was not a problem for any of us. The waterfront was fun to walk around & we enjoyed the restaurants within walking distance (especially the ice cream shop!). We were there during a hot spell & had trouble keeping the place cool, but there were plenty of fans, so that was just an unfortunate time of year & it was hot for everyone! With the "notes" beforehand we brought plenty of paper towels, coffee filters & cleansers, but looked like so did everyone else, so if you stay you may want to see what is there prior to purchasing more. The water from the faucet is drinkable...being from Arizona where it is NOT, this was great & we refilled bottles quite often. The manager responded quickly to any question which was greatly appreciated. There is some construction close by, but other than that it was a very peaceful location & we did enjoy our own happy hour on the upstairs deck at sunset!!
My wife, three older kids and I spent 4 nights on the Miss Leah over July 4th. It was awesome! Everything exceeded our expectations. It was clean and very comfortable. The location and views are second to none. Marina Bay is a great location with great restaurants and night life. There is a coffee shop less than 100 yards from Miss Leah that opens up at 7am. We would go there for breakfast and coffee each day and sit outside by the water enjoying the views. We would uber into the city each day to shop, sightsee and watch the Sox! We've never had a more enjoyable vacation! We are already discussing our return trip.
The house boat was clean and well maintained. The upstairs bed was small for a queen and not very comfortable. The downstairs bed for 2 people is way too small....Occasionally there was some rocking from the waves which was a bit annoying but to be expected on a house boat....The stairway going to the upper level is difficult when bringing luggage up and down. Overall was a good experience...
Found it easily with navigation in my I phone. This is a great location and a unique experience. Carts available to put your bags in so easy to get them to the Miss Leah. Its is very spacious and plenty of natural light. The upper dock area has plenty of restaurants, from fancy to take out. Busy area and plenty of choices. It is a boat, but you really feel like your in a home. Two bedrooms and plenty of space. Everything is modern and clean. Plenty of towels etc and 2 full bathrooms. This is an experience you will enjoy.
Staying at the floating boat house was such a fun experience for me, my husband, and our 2 friends! I loved how clean it was and the views were fantastic. Plus the boat was very still, you would never know you were on a boat. I definitely recommend it to couples or a friends retreat! An added bonus is all the restaurants nearby that are walking distance, including some fun bars. The only heads up I can give is the small gap in between the dock and the front door, the slim stairway that may be tight for your luggage (mine was small for me so it wasn't a problem) and the parking (you may not get a good parking spot depending on how crowded it was at the restaurants). Again, this wasn't a deal breaker especially since my husband dropped us girls off first with the luggage and then parked but this only happened 1 x out of the 3 days. Overall, I loved it because it wasn't your usual hotel in the city. I felt I had the best of both worlds staying at the marina in a cool boathouse and driving to the city (short drive). I definitely would stay here again!
