I had high expectations for the boat house after seeing the pictures on vrbo and I was not disappointed when we arrived. Owner communicated well and gave us all the info we needed to get into the house and what we would need to bring (only soap and shampoo). The owner had someone come the night before to make sure everything was taking care of and it was ready for our arrival. We had 2 couples and their was plenty of room. The whole house is in excellent condition and the views are amazing. We went into to Boston everyday/night. We took uber every time but once, one time we took the free shuttle to the T-Train but we quickly learned that uber was the easier choice. The ride into Boston was about 15-20 minutes every time we traveled and that was with traffic and without. Only one time in the evening when we came back to the house to change did the boat actually rock a bit, other than that besides looking out of the window, you would have swore you were on land. It was cold out first night and we had the heat on but after that we just had the central a/c off. We had an awesome trip and I'm glad we chose this house instead of an ordinary hotel. I highly recommend staying here!!!
We stayed here back in July 2015 for a few days visiting family in Quincy. The boathouse is awesome! Comfy beds and great location at Marina Bay. Our favorite was watching the sunset from the top deck. We can't wait to come back!
We had a great stay at the Leah. Perfect location for all locations around Boston. Slight maintenance issues needed to be addressed but they were on top of it. I would recommend this to anybody coming to the Boston area thank you.
We came for a Red Sox game and had such an amazing time. There is a free shuttle that takes you to the T from the marina. The area around the marina is delightful and the restaurant food was very good. We are definately coming back. We enjoyed the houseboat so much.
THERE ARE SEVERAL REASON THIS DOESN'T MAKE IT A 5 STAR. FIRST EASY TO ACCESS, BUT DIDNT UNDERSTAND THE PARKING PASS, BECAUSE YOU DIDINT HAVE A SPECIAL SPOT TO PARK IN AND VERY DIFFICULT TO FIND A PARKING SPOT.
THE MATTRESSES ON THE BEDS WERE VERY POOR. SO HARD, MY BACK HURT FROM SLEEPING ON THEM. ALSO THE FURNITURE (COUCH) VERY WORN, THE LEATHER COMING OFF IT AND SUNKEN IN THE MIDDLE VERY UNCOMFORTABLE TO SIT ON. THE INTERNET WAS TERRIBLE, NEED NOT TO EVEN SAY YOU HAVE IT, COULD NOT SEARCH ANY SITES AND COULD NOT STREAM ANYTHING. ALSO NOT MANY CHANNELS TO CHOOSE FROM ON THE DIRECT TV. ALSO THE WASHING MACHINE WAS OUT OF ORDER, WAS GIVEN INFO ON THAT BEFORE WE CAME BUT IT WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE TO HAVE TAKEN OFF SOME ON THE RENTAL.
THE KITCHEN VERY NICE. THE MASTER BATH HAD A WASH CLOTH WRAPPED AROUND THE TOP OF THE SHOWER HEAD, DID NOT UNDERSTAND THAT. DON'T TOUCH THE BLINDS IN THE LIVING AREA AND UPSTAIRS THEY ARE FALLING APART. SOME MINOR ITEMS THAT COULD EASILY BE FIXED TO MAKE THIS A 5 STAR. ALSO THE MUSIC AT NIGHT ON THE BOARDWALK WAS VERY LOUD AND WENT ON INTO LATE HOURS....... THE ONLY HOUSE BOAT IN THE MARINA, SO YOU CANT MISS IT. THE CARTS WERE NICE TO CARRY YOUR STUFF TO THE BOAT, BUT THE INCLINE ON THE RAMP IS VERY STEEP. EASY TO ACCESS ENTRY WITH A CODE, SO NO KEYS TO KEEP UP WITH WAS NICE. WE HAD TO BUY ICE AND WATER..... THE ICE MAKER OR WATER ON THE FRIG WAS NOT OPERATIONAL. IT WAS NICE TO HAVE SOAP TO BATHROOMS, BUT NO SHAMPOO. THERE WAS KITCHEN SOAP ALSO TO WASH DISHES WITH AND PAPER TOWELS AND NAPKINS WHICH WAS NICE.
IT WAS CLOSE TO THE CITY WITH AN EASY ON AND OFF 93 AND THE FERRY AT THE MARINA RUNS TO BOSTON AND TO THE CAPE. IT WOULD NOT TAKE MUCH TO MAKE THIS A 5 STAR IN MY OPINION
We had a fun week staying at the Miss Leah. The location was perfect for us. There was five of us, one teenager, two parents & two grandparents. Getting on & off & around on the Miss Leah was not a problem for any of us. The waterfront was fun to walk around & we enjoyed the restaurants within walking distance (especially the ice cream shop!). We were there during a hot spell & had trouble keeping the place cool, but there were plenty of fans, so that was just an unfortunate time of year & it was hot for everyone! With the "notes" beforehand we brought plenty of paper towels, coffee filters & cleansers, but looked like so did everyone else, so if you stay you may want to see what is there prior to purchasing more. The water from the faucet is drinkable...being from Arizona where it is NOT, this was great & we refilled bottles quite often. The manager responded quickly to any question which was greatly appreciated. There is some construction close by, but other than that it was a very peaceful location & we did enjoy our own happy hour on the upstairs deck at sunset!!
