5 bedroom, 3 bathroom house with 2 living areas and deck overlooking the water
About Jenny Johnston
I grew up in Berry on the NSW South Coast and had many memorable family holidays at Currarong. We bought a house ourselves in Currarong in 2000 and so my children have also grown up having family holidays in Currarong. I now live in Sydney and our favourite holiday destination is Shore Thing
Jenny Johnston purchased this House in 2010
Why Jenny Johnston chose Shoalhaven
I'd holidayed in Currarong since I was a child and I wanted my children to have the same experience. We bought a small house across the road from this one in 2000 and we had some wonderful holidays there. This house came up for sale and we thought that it would be fantastic to be on the water and have a house with more space. It needed a major renovation, we were able to keep the original look at the front of the house and extend the back to make the most of the incredible views.
What makes this House unique
As soon as I walked into this house I was captivated by the uninterrupted views out to the lagoon. When we renovated we maintained this vista, so when you open the front door, the view is there

Home Away from Home

We had a great long weekend staying at Shore Thing. Very well appointed, clean, tidy and comfortable home. We were 2 families with teenagers, so lots of space and great outdoor areas.
Loved the location , and the view.
We hope to be back soon.
Best location, wonderful beach house
Kayak straight from your backyard and walk to all the beaches. Superb location on the creek. House is well appointed.
We had a lovely 4 nights at Shore Thing. Great location and everything that you needed in a rental property and more. Kids and adults enjoyed the pool table. Loved all 3 outdoor areas especially the ‘Bali’ balcony (as we called it) at night outside the main bedroom. Large BBQ for outdoor cooking on the front balcony. Jenny the owner was a pleasure to deal with and answered all our questions . This was our 6th annual get together at. Currarong. We will be back!!! Going to miss the Chinese restaurant at the club though🙁 Loved the quietness of Currarong and all the walks and beaches. ☀️☀️☀️
Thanks for your wonderful review, I really appreciate it. I like the Bali Balcony name you came up with. Yes, I heard the Chinese restaurant at the club is going, it might be replaced with Italian, which would be good. I look forward to hearing from you for your 7th annual visit!!
The whole family had a great time, the house is fantastic with superb views and we really enjoyed staying there.

Loved our stay here over the weekend , everything we wanted as a relaxing weekend away with family would highly recommend if you're planning on pure relaxation and stunning views
The beaches around Currarong are peaceful, uncrowded and beautiful. The main beach, which is 50m from the house, stretches for 13 kms around to Culburra. There are plenty of places along the beach to surf, snorkel, swim , fish and kayak.
There are excellent walks around Beecroft Head with tracks accessed from Abraham's Bosom Reserve, also known as Bosom Beach.
There's a boat ramp in the village if you have your own boat.
Spot dolphins and whales frolicking in the pristine waters as you walk along the shoreline. There are also whale-watching charter cruises from nearby Jervis Bay
Visit Point Perpendicular light house at Beecroft Peninsula for views over Jervis Bay and explore the many nearby beaches with squeaky white sand and pristine turquoise waters. Just 10 minutes drive from the house.
There are golf clubs at Callala Beach and Nowra.
There's a number of wineries nearby which are great for tastings and meals. Try Cupits in Milton, the Silos in Meroo Meadow or Cambewarra Estate wineries.
Nowra is the hub of the area with shopping, cinema and ten-pin bowling.
There's plenty to see and do or simply choose to sit back and enjoy the scenery
