Our property is situated on one of the most exclusive area in Paris, Ile Saint-Louis, on the famous tree-shaded Quay de Bourbon. Facing the right bank of the River Seine, the apartment is on the 5th floor, with elevator access, of a 17th century building.

This 45 sq.m. flat was extensively renovated by French architect Marc Deloche in 2011 to a very high standard. It has retained its original charm, while being modernized with the everyday conveniences one would expect from a five-star hotel.

In the living area two large windows offer lovely views onto the city town hall all the way to Bastille plus in-between Sacré Coeur Basilica, the Louvre, Pompidou Museum.

I'm Parisian working in the finance industry and have being living in this city for about 20 years.

I've spent the other part of my life living abroad, travelling worldwide for business or entertainment. Throughout my extensive traveller experience on all the continents, I had the opportunity to stay in some of the most renowned and exclusive hotels and places in the world, from the unique Atacama Desert resort in Chile, to fashionable and privileged Mayfair addresses or opulent maharadja castle in Radjastan.

When refurbishing this recently acquired apartment our goal was to make this place which benefited from a first class location on the Ile Saint Louis, a 5-star-hotel-suite like flat.

Decorated and furnished with personal items, mixing French antic with souvenir de voyages you will find here cosiness of a flat and functionality of a hotel suite.

I've been living in Paris for some 20 years and Ile Saint Louis is really the essence of Paris to me.

I've been looking for years for an exclusive property in the centre of Paris without suffering from the trouble of a megapolis. I found it...

The isle is a retreat from the stress and motion of the city. In addition to its exclusive setting in Paris the Ile Saint Louis offers peaceful and romantic tree-shaded quays accessed by stairway and, of course, the views on the city. This attests to the fact that, despite its development, the island has not lost its original function as a place for people to gather and relax in company with the Seine.

The island has had many illustrious residents such as the poet Charles Baudelaire, physicist Marie Curie and philosopher Voltaire. In the 1920s it was a favorite haunt of Hemingway and more recently home of late President of France Georges Pompidou as well as, Foreign Affairs Minister Roland Dumas.

  • The bedroom, adjacent to the living area, features a brand new queen-size bed (160 * 200 cm) with firm antibacterial mattress, 2 built-in wardrobes and storage areas for long dresses and suits. and is equipped with a flat-screen TV with cable channels including the CNN and the BBC, Blu-Ray DVD player and in-floor lighting. The bedroom has one large window looking onto the courtyard and is separated from the living area by a plate sound proof glass window. This allows you to have river views and sunshine while in the bedroom. Both windows have blackout motorized roller blinds operated from your bed (one to provide privacy from the outside, the other from the living room) allowing the perfect night’s sleep. All the lighting and blinds can be controlled by the panel next to the bed.

A stylish hideaway in the centre of Paris

We stayed for four nights and enjoyed our trip very much. The flat is truly a luxury experience - full view on Montmartre and the Seine, great furniture, fully equipped kitchen.

The island is a real gem - great restaurants, bakeries etc. and in the flat, you find a full library of travel literature to explore Paris just like a local.

Great location, wonderful view

Came to Paris for my first time and stayed here as opposed to a hotel. What a great choice that was! The location was perfect with many restaurants and shops right around the corner.

The apartment is on the top floor of a 5 story building with secure access via two, locked, downstairs doors. The two windows look out onto the river and let in plenty of light. Everything was very clean and comfortable and had a great homey feeling.

Working with the owner was very easy and my deposit was promptly returned the day I left. I will absolutely stay here again.

Warm, charming, picturesque, and functional!

The owners attention to detail was obvious. Automatic shades, a great washer/dryer, a good lift, sound retardant windows and a compact kitchen. Everything you could need. The apartment has even more charm than the pictures would indicate. Located in the very heart of Paris it could not be more convenient. Walk across Pont Marie to the Metro and the best coffee shop in Paris. The windows look out on the Seine and Quai de Bourbon, arguably the most beautiful street in the most beautiful city. Right on the Seine and yet quiet at night. Even our Parisian friends were impressed. This is without a doubt the best apartment we have rented anywhere. Thank You Pierre

very lovely place in the best location in paris.

the place was really great. i highly recommend it. And we had a wonderful time there. The rooms are light, relatively spacious for Paris, the furniture and bed comfortable. But there were some issues in terms of everything being crammed into a very small space (although both rooms had plenty of room and light). but the kitchen for instance -- a lot is crammed into one console and we did find ourselves hitting our heads with doors and stuff. and the bed is fitted into cutouts in the wall with bed "table" niches which were so narrow we were constantly knocking things off. the elevator-- and how wonderful to have an elevator to a high floor on Ile St. Louis, really rare and great not to have to climb flights. but it was really the smallest elevator i have ever seen. really only room for one person and a bag or two people with no bags. we are not big people but we often felt we were bumping into things. the toilet as well, just enough room to get in and out. adjacent bathroom not too bad in those terms, with nice fixtures, (oddly high sink and toilet, though) good shower.also, the view, is only amazing if you stand up and look down from the windows to see the Seine. seated it is still nice. some paris in the distance and a lot of sky. I only mention these things if you would be particularly bothered by them and not to raise expectations too high. We really were happy we rented it.

Owner's Response: The apartment is exactly as per the website description and the pictures speak by themselves. The unit is roughly 45m2. It features a living space with built-in “kitchen lab”, a bedroom with 160x200 bed and cupboards, en-suite bathroom with shower and separate toilet. By definition a 100m2 apartment would be more spacious. A studio, less. Just a question of choice and price. Regarding the lift, I just wanted to remind readers that this building dates back to 1660. The lift had to fit in the structure and the size of the building. So far guests have been very satisfied with it. As we say, it does the job and carries people and goods up and down effortless. Lastly, the view. Again being located on the 5th floor should you wish to observe the boats on the river Seine you might have to stand up and look down. Otherwise slightly turning your head you will only get an impressive 180º view of Paris roofs from Grand-Palais to Place the la Bastille with in-between Louvre and Georges Pompidou museums, Sacré Coeur Basilica, Paris Town Hall to name but a few. We pay very much attention to guests’ comfort and satisfaction during their stay. We do our utmost to meet their expectations so long as they are reasonable and aligned with what we committed with.

Decorated tastefully with comfort in mind

The property was exactly what we wanted for two weeks in Paris: close to major attractions and yet quiet at night, decorated tastefully with comfort in mind, a thoughtfully designed small apartment with a place for everything, and very well equipped.

The owner replies promptly and helpfully to every communication, and provides useful recommendations to attractions, museums, and shops. His recommendations were spot on (e.g. the best boulangerie, good restaurants, and excellent freshly squeezed orange juice, all very close by).

Once again we found Paris to be fabulous city with some very helpful people, particularly in restaurants. We would add one restaurant to the list, Alliance, 5 rue de Poissy, just across Pont de la Tournelle. It's innovative, fresh, delicious with a very helpful staff.

I happily recommend this apartment with complete confidence.

Stylish apartment with excellent attention to details

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the apartment. It was just the right size for a week (or more) and even though we did not cook , the facilities were certainly all there.

The guide book to the apartment and its facilities was excellent (wish more places produced such a booklet) and even though we have been to Paris many times , we still got useful hints from your guide book.

Although we stayed on the island 2 years ago , a new (for us) feature was the closure of the right bank river side road and the establishment of café / restaurants on the moored boats and riverside . We went down several times for a late afternoon drink and listen to a band.

Thanks for the advice of the refunded deposit and thanks for allowing us to use the apartment beyond the usual departure time.

We would certainly recommend the apartment.
