Our property is situated on one of the most exclusive area in Paris, Ile Saint-Louis, on the famous tree-shaded Quay de Bourbon. Facing the right bank of the River Seine, the apartment is on the 5th floor, with elevator access, of a 17th century building.

This 45 sq.m. flat was extensively renovated by French architect Marc Deloche in 2011 to a very high standard. It has retained its original charm, while being modernized with the everyday conveniences one would expect from a five-star hotel.

In the living area two large windows offer lovely views onto the city town hall all the way to Bastille plus in-between Sacré Coeur Basilica, the Louvre, Pompidou Museum.

I'm Parisian working in the finance industry and have being living in this city for about 20 years.

I've spent the other part of my life living abroad, travelling worldwide for business or entertainment. Throughout my extensive traveller experience on all the continents, I had the opportunity to stay in some of the most renowned and exclusive hotels and places in the world, from the unique Atacama Desert resort in Chile, to fashionable and privileged Mayfair addresses or opulent maharadja castle in Radjastan.

When refurbishing this recently acquired apartment our goal was to make this place which benefited from a first class location on the Ile Saint Louis, a 5-star-hotel-suite like flat.

Decorated and furnished with personal items, mixing French antic with souvenir de voyages you will find here cosiness of a flat and functionality of a hotel suite.

I've been living in Paris for some 20 years and Ile Saint Louis is really the essence of Paris to me.

I've been looking for years for an exclusive property in the centre of Paris without suffering from the trouble of a megapolis. I found it...

The isle is a retreat from the stress and motion of the city. In addition to its exclusive setting in Paris the Ile Saint Louis offers peaceful and romantic tree-shaded quays accessed by stairway and, of course, the views on the city. This attests to the fact that, despite its development, the island has not lost its original function as a place for people to gather and relax in company with the Seine.

The island has had many illustrious residents such as the poet Charles Baudelaire, physicist Marie Curie and philosopher Voltaire. In the 1920s it was a favorite haunt of Hemingway and more recently home of late President of France Georges Pompidou as well as, Foreign Affairs Minister Roland Dumas.

  • The bedroom, adjacent to the living area, features a brand new queen-size bed (160 * 200 cm) with firm antibacterial mattress, 2 built-in wardrobes and storage areas for long dresses and suits. and is equipped with a flat-screen TV with cable channels including the CNN and the BBC, Blu-Ray DVD player and in-floor lighting. The bedroom has one large window looking onto the courtyard and is separated from the living area by a plate sound proof glass window. This allows you to have river views and sunshine while in the bedroom. Both windows have blackout motorized roller blinds operated from your bed (one to provide privacy from the outside, the other from the living room) allowing the perfect night’s sleep. All the lighting and blinds can be controlled by the panel next to the bed.

Beautiful, Intimate, romantic apartment

Great location. Relatively quiet neighborhood in the center of Paris. Easy metro, velib bikes, taxi access. Full cooking & dining setup, w/d, well-equipped bathroom, lighting & sound system, etc. Sleeps no more than 2.

Stunning apartment has everything you need! Extremely well appointed. Amazing view of the Seine directly outside. It is in the center of Paris. Be prepared for some street sounds, but easy to manage with simple cheap earplugs. The trade off is a quiet neighborhood with few tourists, great restaurants, shops and markets just outside your door.

Cautions: if you are at all claustrophobic you may way want to find a different space. Apartments in Paris are extremely expensive so square footage is critical. Bathroom and elevator are quite tight.

Perfect apartment for two in Paris

We stayed in Pierre's lovely apartment for 6 nights and were thrilled with our stay there. We were fortunate to have met him when we arrived and he explained the workings of all the appliances and features. Luckily for us he speaks English fluently. His housekeeper does not speak English but by using a translater app on her phone we were able to communicate. Pierre designed the apartment himself utilizing the space very efficiently. He provided personal amenities including toiletries, ear plugs (not needed), snacks, toothbrush and toothpaste, etc., not usual for a HomeAway rental. My only caution is that the toilet, being separate from the shower, is very small and could be uncomfortable if you are a large person, though it was fine for my husband and me.

The location of the apartment was right on the Seine close to two metro stops. We used the Saint-Paul stop which is a five minute walk because it is on a main metro line and was able to get us wherever we wanted directly. The other metro stop is right on the corner of the apartment building. We felt safe in our upscale neighborhood and would always be out walking at night. Lots of good restaurants in the close vicinity.

I highly recommend this apartment and when I return to Paris, I'll definitely stay here again. Thank you Pierre!

Charming flat near everything

My wife and I stayed at this flat while in Paris to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and we could not have been more pleased. It is cozy with plenty of old-world charm mixed with all the modern conveniences to make for a very comfortable stay. While the apartment is just as described on the website, there were all these extra little touches that added to the experience: a good sound system with an I-pod dock, a variety of lighting options in the bedroom area (which had a comfortable bed), and most delightful was an automated coffee system—filled with all the beans we needed—that allowed us to quickly and simply prepare espresso each morning (along with a milk steamer, for café au lait!). This treat, along with the views outside the dining table, prompted us to eat breakfast in the apartment several times. The apartment was filled with guide books and maps to help navigate Paris, but the information book that Pierre provided actually was one of the most useful—all his suggestions were spot on. Pierre was great to work with in arranging the stay, and he stopped by the first day to check in and answer any questions. As noted, the apartment is cozy, but plenty of room for the two of us (however, I should note that the toilet room—which is separate from the shower area--is a bit tight for larger guests: nothing to be done about it, but worth being aware of). It really made for the perfect base for both exploring Paris and for relaxing and enjoying a Parisian life, at least for a little while. In terms of exploring the city, it is very well situated. We were able to walk to many of the key spots on our agenda: Notre Dame, the Pantheon, the Picasso Museum, Le Marais are all within 15 minutes, but we were also able to walk to the Louvre, the D’Orsay, and the Luxembourg Gardens in under 30 minutes. In addition, there is a Metro stop within minutes of the apartment. We highly recommend this property and will definitely look to stay here again the next time we are in Paris.

A stylish hideaway in the centre of Paris

We stayed for four nights and enjoyed our trip very much. The flat is truly a luxury experience - full view on Montmartre and the Seine, great furniture, fully equipped kitchen.

The island is a real gem - great restaurants, bakeries etc. and in the flat, you find a full library of travel literature to explore Paris just like a local.

Great location, wonderful view

Came to Paris for my first time and stayed here as opposed to a hotel. What a great choice that was! The location was perfect with many restaurants and shops right around the corner.

The apartment is on the top floor of a 5 story building with secure access via two, locked, downstairs doors. The two windows look out onto the river and let in plenty of light. Everything was very clean and comfortable and had a great homey feeling.

Working with the owner was very easy and my deposit was promptly returned the day I left. I will absolutely stay here again.

Warm, charming, picturesque, and functional!

The owners attention to detail was obvious. Automatic shades, a great washer/dryer, a good lift, sound retardant windows and a compact kitchen. Everything you could need. The apartment has even more charm than the pictures would indicate. Located in the very heart of Paris it could not be more convenient. Walk across Pont Marie to the Metro and the best coffee shop in Paris. The windows look out on the Seine and Quai de Bourbon, arguably the most beautiful street in the most beautiful city. Right on the Seine and yet quiet at night. Even our Parisian friends were impressed. This is without a doubt the best apartment we have rented anywhere. Thank You Pierre
