This large, 3.500 sq ft. oceanfront estate home sits on 2/3rds of an acre and has 5 bedrooms and 5 baths (sleeps 12). In addition, It also features an expansive (1,100 sq. ft.) covered ocean view terrace with a large seating and dining area, including a Weber gas barbeque. If you have a larger group you may also add our optional (1,000 sq ft) apartment (an extra charge) on the grounds which has another bedroom and bath, sleeping up to 5 more, bringing the total to 17. This apartment offers you a great deal of flexibility as it is optional, and may be added later if your group becomes larger than originally planned. If you don't use it the apartment will go empty to maintain your privacy. You will always have exclusive use of the property.
If your group gets even larger we also have a beautiful 1,080 sq ft two bedroom two bath beachfront condo available just down the beach from our house which can accommodate up to 6 guests. IMPORTANT NOTE: This home is a legal vacation rental property, and has been officially approved and licensed by the County of Maui. A significant number of Maui vacation rentals are not licensed and operate illegally to avoid paying the 14.42% tax due on rental income . The County of Maui Enforcement Division is aggressive in shutting down illegal vacation rentals.
Our home is located on the south-west coast of the beautiful tropical island paradise of Maui. The house was originally built as a beach getaway for a wealthy Maui family living on the slopes of the nearby Haleakala volcano. Built on 2/3 of an acre, and fronting the beach and ocean, the house has the feel of old Hawaiiana with its lava rock walls and fireplace, high beamed ceiling, large covered lanai, expansive lawn, private pool, and beautiful tropical landscaping, which includes a wonderful old Banyan tree, large Monkeypod tree, tropical fruit trees, and 10 palm trees. With its expansive grounds and sleeping capacity, it is perfect for extended family groups, reunions, anniversaries, and other celebrations. Weddings or receptions are not authorized, but low key family celebrations such as birthdays or anniversaries are welcome but attendees are restricted to guests listed on the Rental Agreement.
The moment you walk through the double door entry you will be treated to an expansive, 180 degree ocean view with the white sand beach just 50 feet from the front of the property. We face West and you will enjoy amazing sunsets and during the whale season lots of whale sightings from you lanai. Our home offers everything you could want in a large, luxury beachfront vacation rental.
With its lava rock wall, and electronic entrance gate, you'll enjoy complete privacy and security. There is secure off-street parking for up to 6 vehicles. The home is perfect for extended families, and a great place to host celebrations and other events, however we want to stress that this is not a party house, and we do ask that, in respect to our neighbors, noise levels be kept moderate at all times, and that quiet hours are maintained from 11 pm to 7 am. All events and special celebrations must be approved in advance by the owner, and in some cases there may be a special event fee included.
In the main home the large master bedroom has a king bed and a queen sleeper sofa. There are also three bedrooms that have queen beds sleeping 2 each, and one bedroom that has twin beds sleeping 2. The (optional) apartment on the estate is large (1,000 sq ft) and includes a living area, dining area and kitchen. The bedroom has an en-suite bath and a queen bed. A queen sized sleeper sofa and a one-person sleeper sofa are in the living room of the apartment bringing the apartments sleeping capacity to 5. Our house is really one of a kind... you will be hard pressed to find another oceanfront luxury vacation rental that sleeps this many people comfortably at this price level. PLEASE NOTE... We do not list our home on Craig's List. If you see our house listed there it is fraudulent. We also do not request payments via wire transfer. Any requests for payments via wire transfer for our home is an indication of fraud.
Our Estate Home has a full laundry room and two refrigerators to handle the crowd. A third refrigerator is in the apartment. There is a huge entertainment size living area (31' x 23') and three large dining tables.... one inside and two on the covered ocean front terrace. This shaded terrace is 23' x 47' adding an additional 1,100 sq ft of outside living space and also has a comfortable outdoor seating area. The inviting private pool is solar heated.
We've added many upgrades in the last few years including a 55 inch HDTV, all new major appliances in the kitchen, new outdoor dining tables with 12 chairs, an outdoor lounge seating area, six pool lounges, and new bedspreads and drapes in the bedrooms. Three bathrooms have been completely remodeled. Outside the landscaping has been upgraded as well.
The white sand beach in front of the house is one of the best swimming beaches on the island, with gentle waves, and is very child friendly with no undertows or currents. And if you like to walk the beach, there's over four miles of uninterrupted sand, all the way to Maalaea Harbor!
Our service staff will be on the property from time to time during your stay, but will be as unobtrusive as possible. Our caretaker will drop by to remove the trash on Sunday and Wednesday night, and our landscaping service and pool service is scheduled for every Friday morning. Our cleaner uses the laundry room in the garage weekly to wash and dry towels and bedding, and occasionally other service people will arrive to make repairs, etc.

Great place and great location.
We came to Maui with our peeps to celebrate my husband turning 50. The owner, Rob was awesome to deal with and very accommodating. Darrel, property manager was great as well. We had many laughs and great memories going home.
A beautiful house in a perfect location.
We are three generations (6 to 80) gathering for a family vacation. We found this house quiet (the road is lower than the property), very well equipped, large, beautifully landscaped yard, with a stunning view. The pool was used daily! The beach across the street is family friendly and it isn’t far from our favorite snorkeling beach. We mostly ate “in” as there is a great grill and again, the VIEW! It was an ideal choice for us.
This is a very well maintained property. There were 11 in our party, 7 adults and 4 children. We all were very comfortable. We loved being right across the street from the beach, and close to shops in Kehei. Snag this house for your vacation if you can!
Very nice home with a beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean
My family and I stayed here for a little over a week in January 2018. The property is large and accommodates large groups nicely. The view is incredible and the landscaping beautiful. We also rented the bottom apartment and it also is very nice. We would have liked to see a TV in the apartment as well as the bedrooms however we realize some people do not care about this. Also the WIFI was very slow.
The kitchen is well equipped and we were pleased with all of the beach items provided such as chairs, umbrellas, toys, mats, etc. The pool is not heated but it is well maintained and very nice. If you have small children the owner/manager does offer a fence that can be put up. The covered stone deck is a gathering place for everyone and it is lovely. Nice furniture and tables along with the outdoor grill.
The property has a locked gate at the entrance of the driveway and a wall around the yard. This was comforting due to all of the traffic including people walking buy. The home is located right across the street from the beach and there is a bus stop right there which is fairly busy.
We would stay here again. Rob the owner is very nice and accommodating. He responds quickly and was always available even during our stay.

We've upgraded our internet several times, and it has been fast for us, but I think when the house is full and there are lots people accessing the internet at the same time that the speed can be an issue. We haven't had comments requesting additional TV's before but will consider it. By the way the pool is heated. We have a solar system that definitely pumps warmed water into the pool... but does depend on it being sunny to operate effectively, so maybe that was the issue.
A great Maui gathering place!
We have a rather large family that actually "Likes Each Other" and travels well together. We needed a big place and this was it. We rented the house and the attached apartment. Kids down, adults up - that is the ticket. It worked out well, really well. Most of the bedrooms have a bathroom attached. That was a plus. The best part was the large lanai as we watched the sunset every night over the pacific ocean. I cannot tell you how nice it was to relax on the lanai for hours into the evening just talking and eating dinner. The family loved it. The pool was great (although we did not use it much thanks to the beach in the back yard (25 feet across the street).
The location was super easy to get to from the airport. Literally only 15 minutes from OGG. Shopping, restaurants, grocery all close by.... very conveinient.
If you have a large group, this is the place for you. It made for a memorable trip.

Dec 9-15, 2017 Kihei
Property is easy to get to from airport. We had a new person from the property management company showing us the property so there were a few hiccups on finding light switches for the lanai, and where certain things were. First appearances are amazing. Pulling in to the property and seeing the lava rock and large yard with beautiful trees is quite a nice introduction to the property.
Bedrooms are spread out in corners of the property and give some privacy and quiet at night. Most bedrooms have separate bathrooms which is nice. Kitchen is smallish for working with a large group, but all appliances worked well and having 2 fridges is great.
The lower level (apartment) was great for the group that was situated there. They were able to have quiet area for small kids at night.
With 15 people in the house, we really didn't feel cramped at any time.
The landscaping, pool, and outside are absolutely gorgeous and probably the highlight of the property for us. We stayed outside on the covered lanai or walked across the road to the beach or in the pool when not out enjoying the sights. Watching the sun rise and sun set from the pool area made for some great photos.
Groceries, golf, shopping, and even doctors were within 5 minutes drive. Ululani's was within a 10-15 minute walk and is worth the walk.
If there are some things we would say could be improved on, it would be some of the bathrooms could use some renovations or modernizing . The gate operation could be better if they provided door openers for the vehicles. (although understandable if they constantly get lost in rental vehicles) We did run out of propane for the grill, but it was simple to get more and the property manager did contact us to apologize and offer to get some for us.
The owners also were very good to work with and responsive to all questions and concerns from initial booking through the stay.

Thanks for your review and your constructive comments. Our guidelines for our property manager is to always have a back-up propane tank behind the grill but it sounds as if that didn't happen. Your comments on the bathroom are spot on... in fact that is our next project... starting next month when we are there. Two baths upstairs and one in the apartment will be completely redone. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay, and hope to see you back with us some day.
We are located in quiet residential neighborhood, directly across the street from a beautiful white sand beach. It offers great swimming, fishing, boating, snorkeling, and beach walking. Our home is in N. Kihei, extremely convenient to beaches, shopping, restaurants and activities. 30 minutes to Lahaina, 20 minutes to the airport, and 15 minutes to Wailea.

There is also a large one bedroom one bath apartment that rents for $195 per night and sleeps five. The cleaning fee for the house is $600 and $250 for the apartment. This apartment may only be rented to guests who are also renting the home. We accept Pay Pal.
