About Margaret

I am an Interior designer/ architect and I love to travel. I have lived in many great cities (NYC, Aspen, Miami, and LA) and I always come back here. I use VRBO wherever I go. It's the greatest way to really get to know how the locals live, find the best restaurants, and walking communities.

Margaret purchased this bungalow in 2004

Why Margaret chose Orlando

Orlando is a great city. I grew up here. When ever I leave the state of Florida, I am reminded of the great weather and ease of living here. I can walk everywhere and there is always something interesting going on.

What makes this bungalow unique

Great local neighborhood vibe! Walk to dining, shopping, and Sunday farmer's market, and enjoy the close proximity to Lake Eola and Downtown Orlando. 5 minute drive/ rickshaw (10 minute walk) to Amway center & movie theaters. 45 minutes to the Beach. Disney Area & Theme Parks & Convention Center 30 minute drive. 20 minutes from airport. 2 miles from Orlando executive airport.

Margaret was a wonderful host, her home is beautiful just like the pictures. The location was PERFECT for us. The beds and pillows were amazing. We will definitely stay here again.

Beware all ye with allergies

  • 3 of 5

Our family had a get-together here before Christmas. We arrived late to an unlit house on a dimly lit (romantic) street. It was so dark that even the cab driver had a hard time to find the bungalow. Still, the house looked attractive. We opened the door to a musty smell, and later discovered that the sheets were soaking wet. The owner apologized the next day when I was able to e-mail her from a nearby restaurant (we couldn’t access the home Web site as we had not brought a printout of basic info, like password, from the HomeAway Web site). The house was attractive and in a great location, but it was in need of better humidity control (not the best choice for anyone with allergies), plus a few repairs. There was some activity in a locked room at the back of the bungalow - not a problem, but the first night we thought someone had broken into the house, better for renters to be informed in advance. Despite these glitches, we had a lovely time in Orlando, and would return, though not to this house.

Owner's Response: This is the ONLY negative response we have ever received and are very concerned. In 2016 We installed new HV A/C, roof, and refinished wood floors... and enjoyed the process. We love our house and maintaining it is an honor. I, Margaret, am a hospitalty (hotel) designer, details are my personal passion. Especially when it comes to sheets and beds. Are you sure you have the right house? This is a restored bungalow in a wonderful historical district. We always try to brief people that it is not Disney World. It's real. This may be a reason not to use the INSTANT BOOK and may find that we need to remove this feature. We pride ourselves on the many happy guests and being transparent as far as expectations, very sad and will do everything feasible to address your comments.

Charm and Location

  • 5 of 5

So much downtown charm in this cute bungalow. The location is perfect to walk to restaurants and coffee or taking a nice stroll around Lake Eola or downtown plus an easy commute to main roads and highways. Nice, friendly neighborhood and very quiet at night. Margaret was great and very helpful if I needed anything. Will definitely consider another stay on my next visit.

Great Place

  • 5 of 5

We loved this place when we were in town to attend a wedding. Beautifully appointed in a quaint historical neighborhood, yet walking distance to restaurants, park, Lake Eola, and downtown Orlando. With family in Orlando, this place is my first choice to stay when we come to visit.

Quaint, cozy, and relaxing home. Close to restaurants and Lake Eola park.

Very comfortable home located within walking distance to many restaurants and park.

Spent many evenings relaxing on the front porch. Also enjoyed walking around the lakes and quaint neighborhoods. The house is well equipped and feels like home away from home.

Just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

I spent an entire month at Margaret's bungalow. The pictures are spot on and we felt home right from day one. I have to go to Orlando every now and then to take care of my business in town and from this day onwards, there's no other place I'd rent to stay in the city. Thanks so much for such a nice place, Margaret! :)
