Sea Turtle is located on Brighton Beach, at the south end of the Platinum Coast of Barbados, with direct access to the sand, and with uninterrupted views of the Caribbean Sea.
Built in the 1960's this spacious 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom bungalow is set in a quarter of an acre of mature gardens and underwent a full refurbishment in November 2011 (including new soft and hard furnishings throughout). A 500 sq ft sun deck and a pool were added in November 2012. Situated in a quiet residential neighbourhood two miles north of the city center the house feels very private and is ideal for groups or families wanting a private hassle free beach experience or for intimate 'honeymooning' couples. The beach is over 1.2 miles long and it is the largest turtle hatchery on the island. Turtles are often seen laying eggs, hatching and swimming in the surrounding waters. Green monkeys visit the property and the garden is full of humming birds. Being set back over 100 yards from the main road, Sea Turtle does not experience the road noise suffered by most West Coast villas and as Brighton Beach is a mainly residential beach it is almost deserted for most of the day/week.
The Master and second bedrooms are both 'en-suite'. The Master has a 'California King-size' bed and the second and third rooms can be configured as either 'Large Double', 'Twin' or three singles. The house is child friendly and there is a baby cot/crib available if required.
In addition to kitchen, laundry and lobby, the living area comprises of an internal 18' x 28' lounge with giant TV, an external 30' x 12' covered dining area with seating for 8, and 15' x 30' canopied wooden sundeck with loungers and barbecue, leading onto a 30' x 15' sundeck with outdoor pool. There is also a porch to the roadside with seating, where you can catch the early morning sun.
There is a daily maid/laundress to wash-up, do laundry, and to clean and service the rooms.
The house is a five minute drive south of the best restaurants on the island, 600m from a large modern supermarket, right on the beach and walking distance from Kensington Oval Cricket Ground.

I like to be brutally honest in my reviews as I think this is most helpful! Our booking experience was sublime - Andy is a dream and real pleasure to chat to!!!!! We arrived to be met by the House Manager with a fridge of hospitality and pre-ordered food and drinks and a cooked fresh chicken on the stove. On first walking into the house it was not quite as "plush" as we had expected and so initial 1st impressions were not great.......BUT.......OMG..... This villa is SO comfortable and has everything needed for a relaxing break. Maureen - the Housekeeper cannot do enough for you and keeps the house immaculate!!!! The Owners Manual, otherwise known as "the bible" is spot on and we followed many recommendations. All in all ...... Highly recommend!!!!!!
Diane, we are all very happy you enjoyed your holiday and our home so much. We feel much of what makes Sea Turtle (and our beach) so special, in addition to the privacy, is its understated “last century” charm; accordingly we have tried to include all modern necessities simply and discreetly, without too much “bling”, so as not to disturb it’s tranquillity. We would much prefer your appreciation to grow with each new discovery (and you want to come back again) than to initially “wow” and then disappoint. Thank you for being model guests – we hope you will return one day.
As close to perfection as you can get
Beachhouses are all about the beach and this one is quite perfect and you have the beach almost for yourself, just steps from the house. Two sets of deckchairs, one for the beach and one for the terrace, umbrellas for the beach, a big cooler if you can't make it back to the fridge, a state of the art BBQ - its all there. Michelle took good care of all the work in the house - we had a fantastic vacation. The pool looks much bigger in the pictures than it really is - its more like a big bathtub but with a beach like this you don't really need a pool for swimming.
We loved the house, the beach, gardens and pool. We stayed 8 nights and felt safe and at home. The outdoor covered dining and lounging area was our favorite place to relax and enjoy the wonderful weather. The owner's guide book was so helpful and we enjoyed many daily excursions to all parts of the island. The location of the Sea Turtle home was an ideal base for activities (snorkeling, catamaran cruise, Mount Gay tour, cave tour...) and going out to eat at wonderful restaurant dinners.

THE Best Location in Barbados!!
What an amazing family vacation in Barbados! The Sea Turtle on Brighton Beach is as good or better than all the reviews I read prior to staying here! We are a family of 5 with 3 younger children and we could not have been more comfortable, safe, or relaxed than we were at the Sea Turtle :)
What more could a family or anyone want?? We had the entire Bay to ourselves every day with only a few locals and no one hassling us for beach chairs/umbrellas, jet skis, tube rides, turtle boats, etc etc. Beautiful coral with plentiful fish to see just off your own personal beach and my daughters LOVED finding all the sea glass!
Any activity you would want to do is covered in the "handbook" and we did ALOT of them! Probably our best family vacation EVER and when we come back to Barbados we will definitely want to stay at the Sea Turtle!!!

Our stay at Sea Turtle was great! The house was clean, neat and the layout was great. The beach was fantastic! Susan, Maureen and Chris were all very helpful and nice. Car recommended. If you need a taxi...Vernon King is the one! (his cards are at the house) We all had a great time , and plenty of room at the Sea Turtle in Barbados!!

We loved the Sea Turtle. Brighton Beach is a wonderful location, and we felt safe there at Sea Turtle. Shondell (the house keeper) was wonderful and did a very good job, and we also appreciated her and the company's flexibility with allowing us some privacy throughout our honeymoon. It's so nice to feel comfortable enough to feel "at home" while travelling, and the privacy was a big part of that.
The property seemed to be in good shape, and we loved the colors and the turtle theme throughout the house. We did use the grill once, and that is a great addition, I think. Really, the home fit just what we waned: a place to relax, have privacy, cook our own meals, nice bedroom, etc. Oh yes, the "handbook" or whatever we call it (as I can't remember what was written on the front of it) was really helpful, also.
Sea Turtle is located on Brighton Beach, 2 miles north of Bridgetown (city centre and main fish market) and 3.5 miles south of Sandy Lane Hotel. Kensington Oval is walking distance and, being 4.5 miles from both Holetown and St Lawrence, the beach house is equidistant between both the major tourist/nightlife areas on the island. Some of the islands best bars and restaurants (CinCin, The Cliff, Daphne's & Scarlett's) are all less than a 5 minute drive north. There is a large modern supermarket only 600m away, and from there cheap local buses can be caught either up the West Coast or, via Bridgetown, to anywhere on the island.

There is also a porch to the roadside, with seating, where you can catch the early morning sun.
There is a daily maid service which includes making up the rooms, all the cleaning, washing-up and all laundry. A cook can be arranged, at additional cost, if required.
