This lovely 1 bedroom cottage is centrally located to bike trails, ponds, ocean, beaches, and boating. Start your day at Fort Hill watching the sun rise or watch the lobster boats going out to tend their traps. Ride your bike to First Encounter beach on the bay side or go to Nauset Light or Coast Guard beach where you can surf, swim and body surf. You could also go to the Wellfleet Audubon Society to do some birdwatching, rent kayaks at the Goose Hummock, or go shopping in Orleans, Hyannis, or Provincetown. Later in the afternoon you can go to the Beach Comber in Wellfleet over looking the ocean or go south to the Squire in Chatham. At night you can ride your bike to Rock Harbor to watch the catch the fishing fleet brought in or checkout the sunset that rivals Mallory Sq in Key West. We are close to the Cape Cod Institute and centrally located to all things Cape Cod without the congestion of Dennis, Hyannis, and Falmouth...
This cottage was perfect for my stay on Cape Cod. It was clean, comfortable, cozy, open, well lit, updated and extremely well furnished (especially the kitchen). Very comfortable bed. Everything you need is included - towels, beach chairs, bikes, games, etc. Communication with friendly owners Sue and Don was excellent. Would definitely recommend their home and I would stay there again.
This cottage was perfect for me ...it would have been perfect for two adults sharing a bedroom too, or even to include an additional guest or two, as the futon couch in living room opens up (there is also a tiny loft that would fit 1-2 little people if youre ok with them climbing up & down the ladder leading up there).
It's very comfortable...cheery, open, lots of natural light, nice furniture with plenty of storage if you need it , and importantly, a very good mattress.
The cottage is immaculately clean, has quality/new looking linens, including towels and beach towels , all the basics you need in the kitchen, nicely done bathroom, hair dryer, etc. While there is no oven, there is a toaster oven so you have that, the stovetop, plus microwave for cooking. There are even 2 bikes in an enclosure behind the cottage.
If you're walking or on bikes you can walk along the sidewalk for 3 minutes to get to the side street and be on back roads.
I'd definitely go back, it's a great value and you can see it's well cared for in every way.
This was our first visit to Cape Cod. I had no idea what the best area was for us to stay. I booked this cottage mostly relying on the reviews of previous travelers. So glad I did! The cottage itself was perfect. The furniture is great for the space, but I have to give a special shout-out to that bed. I travel a lot for work, staying in hotels, and I can say with certainty that the bed in this cottage was the most comfortable one I have ever experienced--just the kind of bed you want for a lazy vacation.
The location is also perfect. Just off the main route 6, you can easily hit Orleans, Nauset Beach (I highly recommend), Provincetown and even Hyannis/Barnstable, where we did a whale-watching trip.
The cottage is clean and well-appointed, the location is perfect, and Don and Sue are excellent with communication. Should we return to Cape Cod in the future, we will definitely be staying here!
My boyfriend and I had a great stay at the cottage! It was very clean and was fully equipped with sheets, towels, and kitchenware. It looks just like the photos - very charming and cozy. The location is great for getting to beaches in Eastham and Orleans. The owner was very kind and helpful with our questions. I would highly recommend staying here!
My fiance and I just got back from our getaway to Cape Cod. The cottage is wonderful. It's the perfect size for a couple and is in a great location. We like to spend most of our time at the beaches in Eastham and at the shops in Chatham and Provincetown, so this was a perfect spot for us. Right in the middle of everything we like about the Cape! Also, Orleans is right around the corner and there is a Stop and Shop grocery store right there. Plus, one of our favorite restaurants was right up the road. If you stay here and like seafood check out Arnolds, which is right up route 6 heading towards Wellfleet. And the most beautiful bay beach, Skaket, is also right around the corner. Perfect place to watch a sunset!
We loved our stay so much that I just emailed Sue and Don to ask about staying there in the fall for a long weekend.
Wonderful, well appointed cottage in Eastham. Has all the amenities (except wifi, I brought a Verizon MiFi device and had an LTE connection and it worked great! As another reviewer mentioned you can also just go to the library if you want occasional internet access). The cottage was spotless, the towels were soft and the beach chairs were comfortable. We would come back to Sue and Don's cottage in a heartbeat!
