Great place for a family get together,

  • 4 of 5

Lovely house ,super situation, and great for the children with the animals and play park. Oliver (21 months) is besotted by tractors , so we did have a few issues getting back inside!!

House is well set up and very comfortable, the extra doors upstairs meant we didn’t get disturbed by the grand children too early!

Vice was extremely helpful providing children’s equipment extra sheets etc when needed. He was always very friendly and so keen to please.

It would better to have a larger fridge for the number of guests staying there, and the shower in the family bathroom didn’t work.

There were very good information folders in the house about equipment and places of interest.

We will return and certainly recommend it to our friends.

Lovely property in good location

  • 4 of 5

We were a group of 5 friends staying at The Farmhouse South Wing for 4 nights.

The property is very nicely appointed with good facilities. It was nice to have 5 good sized bedrooms and 4 bathrooms (3 of them en suite) with a separate downstairs loo. (I believe there is now an additional en suite bedroom on the ground floor)

The lounge area is also very nice.

We felt that as the property was capable of accommodating 12 adults (+ room for 2 children on the sofa bed in the family sized room), it would have benefited from a larger fridge & freezer. The under counter ones were supplemented by a wine fridge, which we also used for food.

We didn't see Farmer Vic during our stay, although his son was around & very helpful.

There were no pubs or shops within walking distance, but only a short drive away.

We all enjoyed our stay very much & would recommend the property.

House has the wow factor without being intimidating. Made a great base for our stay. On site facilities are top notch. Children enjoyed feeding the animals with Farmer Vic. Rachel was so helpful, especially with a couple of unforeseeable problems that arose, dealt with immediately. Hope to return and explore the area. Highly recommended is not praise enough!

Clean, lovely decor, very well equipped properties with carefully considered outside areas.

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit, this time with 8 adults and 8 children. This year we stayed in the old milking parlour, lovely kitchen and dining area and very well equipped. We found the smallish communal area a bit too small for the number of exuberant children, and we could perhaps have done with a bigger dishwasher but that's a small gripe! The beds are comfortable, the right number of ensuites and bedrooms vs bathrooms meant there was never a queue for the shower. The outside play areas are excellent and the kids enjoyed the animals and egg collecting again.Vic and team are helpful and welcoming, thankyou!!

Excellent weekend

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderful weekend here with all the family (6 adults, three children and a baby). We were celebrating our Ruby wedding anniversary and were touched to find a card on our arrival - a lovely gesture.

The house lacks for nothing including lots of information about the area (restaurants, trip out etc). It is very comfortable and full of character, with all mod cons and very comfy beds! It is also very tasteful decorated and we felt very much at home.

The highlight for the children was collecting eggs and feeding the animals with Farmer Vic who gave them an experience to remember (he's a natural with children!). Waking to the sound of peacocks was a unique experience too.

The organisation and information given both before and during our stay was excellent. All in all we thoroughly enjoyed our time here making new memories and I would certainly look to stay here again with the family for any future get-togethers.

London, UK.

Excellent accommodation.

We are a group of 7 adults and one teenager who meet up for a post Christmas get together every year. This was our first time at 'Farmer Vic's, but it won't be our last. The Farmhouse South Wing suited our requirments perfectly. All the bedrooms are a good size and beds, bedding and towels of a very good quality and there was a TV in every room. There was plenty of hot water and the house was nice and toasty (a bit too warm sometimes, so next time we need to get the hang of the heating timer!) The large dining table seated us all easily for our evening meals and there were plenty of comfy seats for us to retire to afterwards for playing games and watching TV.

The kitchen was well equipped and the addition of a drinks fridge meant there was plenty of room in the main fridge and freezer for our other stuff. The only items we felt were lacking in the kitchen (or we couldn't find them!) were a chopping board and a tray. The animals outside were a delight, free roaming peacocks and ducks, meerkats, sheep, guinea fowl in the field right outside our door. Lovely Farmer Vic arrived just as we were about to have breakfast on our first morning with a dozen freshly laid eggs and spent some time answering our questions about the animals. We are already planning our return visit for next year
