The Gite des deux rives, house rental for 6 people with all comfort

On the edge of the Seine, in the heart of the Parc Naturel des Boucles de la Seine Normande, this wooden house, bright and contemporary, can accommodate 6 people.

Very close to Rouen, this small piece of nature in a quiet environment is a privileged place to observe the fauna and flora of the marshes.

You will enjoy extraordinary views over the sea and the mountains. You can relax in a pleasant private garden, not fenced but not overlooked of 5000 sq.m, featuring an unprotected pond shared with its inhabitants the mallards, the moorhens and the frogs.

- one bedroom with 1 double bed of 140x190, bay window with view over the garden

- a bathroom with a very large shower

- one separate toilet

- a room (machine room) with washing machine, tumble dryer, storage space, wardrobe, boiler.

Lovely visit

  • 5 of 5

We rented Gite Les Deux Rives for two couples and stayed two weeks. Everything worked out perfectly. I was able to take peaceful walks in the country and we were minutes away from the bakery and the butcher. Rouen is a hop skip and a jump and rides to historical places in Normandy are easily reached by car. Emanuel and Corinne were delightful and helpful. The property is a lovely way to visit Normandy. Thank you!!!!!!

Fabulous house and garden

  • 4 of 5

The house and it's views were spectacular.

A restful and relaxing place to stay- spacious, clean and lots to see from the boats going by to the wildlife in the pond, including beavers!

Will definitely never forget it.

Very comfortable and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

Our vacation was perfect at Gite Les Deux Rives. The house is ver well appointed with views of the Seine and the countryside. Our goal was to see as much of Normandy as possible and we were well located to see so many historical sights. Corinne and Emanuel are so welcoming and they provide lots of local knowledge and help. We would highly recommend this Gite if you want to spend time in beautiful Normandy.

Great country escape after Paris

  • 5 of 5

After a week in Paris and we were looking for a relaxing get away in the country.

Beautiful views from every window and deck of pastoral scenes of grassy meadows with horses and goats, trees and the boats gliding by on the Seine.

Frogs sing you to sleep every night from the pond and you wish you never had to leave. Great sights to see in the local town and in the city of Rouen.

Our hosts went above and beyond when our rental car had a flat tire on the morning of our departure. They called the local tire repair and got our tow truck driver to our location (we don't speak French) and drove us 12km to the city because we all couldn't fit in the tow truck. We couldn't have asked for better service. A great couple who really take great care of this jewel of a country estate. We used this property to stage a trip to the Normandy beaches to visit the World War II museums and it was a really moving experience on the 70th anniversary.

Superb property in a great location

  • 5 of 5

Very comfortable cottage with the river Seine literally at the bottom of the garden. It was great to find that all the things you might need such as tea, coffee, spices, salt & pepper were already there.

We had great fun watching the boats go past and were geeky enough to use the website marinetraffic.com to see when something big was about to go past - well worth it for the really big boats.

Excellent bakery just up the road in Saint Martin de Boscherville and easy access to many interesting places using the ferries (bacs) across the Seine. We would also recommend driving to Le Grand Quevilly and using the tram/metro to get into the centre of Rouen as it is less stressful than driving into Rouen.

Rouen, Jumieges, Duclair and the Chateau Gaillard at Les Andelys are well worth a visit as are the locks at Amfreville. Chartres is about two hours drive, but worth it for the stained glass alone

The animal park in the foret de Roumare had baby wild boar and a lovely walk and is only ten minutes from the gite.

We really enjoyed our stay and have no hesitation in recommending it as the best place possible for getting to know the Seine valley.

Perfect for our family!

  • 5 of 5

This property fully met and exceeded all expectations! The house is immaculately cared for and the space is perfect for our family of four, and can easily handle more. Everything you could possibly need is provided - linens are of exceptional quality. The location of the house is ideal as it is quite central when exploring the Normandy region and Paris given the excellent highways and efficient train system in Rouen. We were easily able to explore all of the military history sites across Normandy and Northern France, enjoy beach days, Paris, Rouen, and many days watching the boats go by on the Seine. The property is quiet and secluded yet close to the bustling city of Rouen. We enjoyed the fruit trees, local markets and towns, and the amazing river walks as well.

Emmanuel and Corrine were excellent to deal with, prompt, and incredibly thoughtful. We are definitely looking at returning to this property for family holidays in the future and would love to recommend it to others.

The house is at the heart of the Normandy Seine loops nature park, on the edge of the Seine at Quevillon, locality of Le Ronceray. Very close to Rouen, this small piece of nature in a quiet environment is a privileged place to observe the fauna and flora of the marshes. On site, you will enjoy a pond with ducks, mallards and frogs.

Ideally located, the Gite des deux rives is on the tourist circuit of the Route des Abbayes (Saint-Georges de Boscherville Abbey 3 km away, Jumièges Abbey 20 km away), the fruit and thatched cottages trail.

The Roman Normandy Saint-Georges de Boscherville Abbey is a tourist site that offers guided tours to discover its abbey church, its monastic building and gardens 'à la française'. Concerts and singing events are regularly organised.

Numerous hiking trails for all levels are signposted in the region.

The forest of Roumare 3 km away will delight adults and children alike. There, you can find an animal park. You will appreciate the numerous paths and forest roads for outings on foot or by bike with the whole family (no car).

For adventurers, you will find a tree climbing park at Saint-Martin-de-Boscherville 5 km away.

In Jumieges, there is a leisure centre which offers a pool for swimming and sporting activities (climbing wall, golf course, canoeing...).

Close to La Bouille, you can practise speleology in the Caumont caves.

Rouen is 12 km away, the city with the 100 bell towers: this is a city of art and history with its numerous museums (Flaubert Museum, museum of Fine Arts, Musee de la Ceramique, “Muséum”...), its medieval architecture (timber-framed houses), the Gros-Horloge (Big Clock tower), its cathedral and churches... but also a cinema, bowling alley and shops.

Many getaways in the region:

- The Cote d'Albatre (Dieppe, Etretat, Fecamp)

- Honfleur

- The landing beaches

- Giverny and Monet gardens

- and many others to discover.

To visit the capital, Paris is 120 km away (motorway).

The Normandy cuisine deserves to be tasted. Have you heard of the 'caneton à la rouennaise'?

You will have a vast choice of good gastronomic restaurants. We will share good addresses and deals with you.

Books and brochures are available for you during your stay in order to help you discover this wonderful region.
