"The only thing we can say is WOW!!! An absolutely gorgeous place, far beyond our expectations." 300 Clifton is an expansive 20,000 sqft estate with secret doors, gorgeous state rooms and the most amazing residential gardens in Minneapolis.

There are three things guests love about staying at 300 Clifton:

1) Close to everything: The mansion is IN downtown so everything is walkable. Museums, shops, bars, dining, theater, sports, comedy, light rail, lakes, river walk and on and on are an easy walk from 300 Clifton

2) You don't even have to leave the mansion for a complete vacation. The history, recreation and relaxation at the estate are such diversions that it takes days to soak it all in.

3) Staff is included. The mansion is always staffed.

A couple of things some guests don't like about 300 Clifton

1) There is only one accessible room at the mansion, and several rooms are on the third floor. There is no elevator, but staff is happy to help with bags up and down the stairs.

2) There is a resident Great Dane at the estate. She is gentle, aloof and never allowed in guest rooms, but if you have an aversion to big dogs, this is not the place for you.

if all that sounds good, get ready to visit in the library while sipping wine by the fire, drink a beer on one of the three expansive porches that overlook the grounds, fix a dinner in the the gourmet kitchen, work at a quiet desk in the drawing room while you gaze out over the gardens, have a private snack in the seclusion of the servants dining room, slip through one of the secret doors, read in the third floor sunlit atrium, eat a meal at the magnificent dining room table that seats 16, and lounge in the 7 person hot tub in the walled-in secret garden! These are just a few of the experiences available at 300 Clifton. The mansion is fully staffed for your ease and comfort. Why Norman Kulba chose Central Minneapolis

For a decade 300 Clifton languished looking for an owner. Vines and trees obfuscated the property and grew in broken windows. But after two years of renovation, the Grand Old House is back to looking as it did in its glory days at the turn of the last century.

Now it is accessible to travelers and visitors from around the world, who want a unique experience, not a cookie cutter hotel. The house is designed for big groups and end entertaining, so get your creative juices flowing and organize an English Tea Party themed Bridal shower, or Great Gatsby Reception. Best of all, the elite guests can stay at the mansion, so what normally would be a 4 hour event, becomes an entire weekend to remember.

Charming, Historic, and Owned by Lovely People

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I have stayed at 300 Clifton several times over the past few years. It has been interesting and endearing watching the owners' loving restoration of the mansion and its grounds.

When we got engaged, we decided to have our wedding at 300 Clifton, and could not have chosen a better venue. We rented both the mansion and the carriage house for our guests, and the variety of warm, public spaces throughout both buildings was enjoyed by all. We were able to seat a total of 24 people quite comfortably for both the ceremony and reception, and most guests also spent the weekend at the B&B.

The highlight of the venue, however, was John's (one of the owners) careful attention to detail. He was behind the scenes, quiet and unassuming, and such a treasured and helpful addition to our day. He conducted a tour of the property during the social hour after the ceremony, and it was clear that our guests loved him as well.

If you are considering a quiet, warm, inviting space to book a getaway with a group of old friends, this is the perfect place for you. The rooms have character, and the mansion has many comfortable spaces to enjoy and share. It also is not a long commute to sights in downtown Minneapolis, and 300 Clifton is in a very walkable neighborhood during the warmer months.

Great wedding weekend at 300 Clifton!

  • 5 of 5

We had our son's wedding on the front porch with about 150 guests at 300 Clifton. Our family stayed in the main house and our son fiance's family stayed in the Carriage house. We did the rehearsal dinner on the covered porch and everything was amazing.

Norman and John were great hosts. They were around when we needed them and visiting with them was great fun. Madonna the Great Dane was also a fun part of our stay.

We were able to decorate and work around the house as needed to make it a perfect venue for the wedding. It was a beautiful spot, great setting, convenient and everything we could have hoped for.

As a place to stay it was also great. Clean, quiet and comfortable. Very welcoming to our family and guests.

My entire family would highly recommend staying at 300 Clifton! We plan to visit again soon!

Beautiful home in a perfect location

  • 5 of 5

We recently hosted a large group at the house for my son's wedding. All of the out of town guests stayed here and we had the rehearsal dinner at the house. The accommodations for guests were comfortable and we had this unbelievable house to spread out in. We had lovely weather so spent a ton of time on the porch where we also had a great rehearsal dinner. John and Norman were very gracious and helped us with whatever we needed, but did not get in our way. The location of the house was also perfect so everyone could explore the sculpture garden, Loring Park and downtown Minneapolis on foot. Everyone loved it. This is a great home and we would highly recommend it for a big group.

Great place. Gorgeous and more work being done. Very accommodating!!! to our group.

  • 4 of 5

Just a few FYI for those looking-- nothing to not make me stay there---Has large dog and cat that were very friendly and didn't bother us but not noted on website anywhere and owners live in house too and that was not noted anywhere and their rooms are beside guest rooms. Overall it was great. No AC in main floor and did not know that until arrival and had booked the house so didn't get to utilize the amazing rooms as much if there had been fans around -do have ceiling fans- we did move a fan around ourselves. It is a gorgeous home. And the carriage house was done very cute with real 1930? taxi cab in game room. The owners are beyond accommodating. Such a fantastic atmosphere to the home.

Amazing Wedding Weekend

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I booked the main house and the lower level of the Carriage House for our wedding weekend. It is very hard to find accommodations for two families under one roof and we are very glad we found 300 Clifton. We were able to use the dining room and kitchen to prepare meals and eat as a family. The grounds are a hidden gem within the city that served as a backdrop for our ceremony. The new porch created a 'third-room' for our families to spread out and relax. Norman and John were very accommodating and were there to answer questions, get extra towels, and share stories about the history of the home. All of our family members were pleased with their rooms and the rest of the property. We are so glad we chose 300 Clifton and would highly recommend it to travelers as well as people looking for a venue.

Wonderful Experence - Highly Recommended

  • 5 of 5

My family and I rented out the entire location including the carriage house to hold a family reunion and the facility helped make the event a tremendous event. The house lent an elegant setting, plenty of room, excellent sound system, and beautiful landscaped gardens and yard for people to gather. Our hosts, John and Norman, were great resources and were very helpful in both planning the event and helping us once we were on the property.

My wife and I are looking forward to spending time here again by ourselves as it is a B&B when not entirely rented our for events.
