Well appointed vintage home, great for our family if 16!
Great kitchen, cooked for a crowd. Well supplied. Lovely dining room and living room. Would return. This was our second time.
A well-equipped and comfortable house.
We had 16 people stay over the Thankgiving holiday. The kitchen and dining room were large enough to accommodate our group and there were plenty of dishes and flatware. The bedrooms were nicely furnished and tastefully decorated.
Cozy home, full of charm!
Our group of 15 really enjoyed this place. Alex made sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. The grounds were gorgeous, especially in the fall season.
Large house, large yard, small trip from NYC
Space, space, space! This house and property are perfect for a large gathering. Our group of 20 fit comfortably and we could’ve fit a few more! We had ample room in the yard for lawn games, wiffleball, etc. The lighted patio area was AMAZING for spending time by the fire pit (wood provided) and enjoying one another’s company after a day outside. The string lights above created a friendly, welcoming atmosphere that made us not want to leave. Inside, the kitchen and it’s two sinks gave us more than enough space to cook for such a large group. A giant dining table, electric fireplace, and two sitting rooms made it easy for everyone to sprawl out once we came inside. Two full floors of bedrooms and two bathrooms on each floor meant we all had beds and didn’t have to compete for bathroom use. The atmosphere inside the home creates a warm cottage feel and we all felt like we were spending a night a grandma’s house. There is plenty of room to park and Alex was incredibly responsive. All of our expectations were exceeded and everyone wanted to know: “how did you find this place!?” If you have a large group and need some relaxation, this is the place for you!
Fabulous property with fabulous host!
The pictures, while great, do not do this place justice. The property is beautiful and the house is spacious and thoughtfully prepared for renters. The bedrooms great size and all air conditioned, although we didn't need it; the four and a half bathrooms all good sized and well equipped; the kitchen large and stocked with plenty of things for prep, with sinks and prep areas on both sides, a large table in the middle and a large Viking stove - perfect for lots of cooks in the kitchen; the dining room is huge - we had no problem sitting 16 people for dinner the first night; and the outdoor patio with string lights, plenty of chairs and a fire pit (with lots of cut wood) was the hit of the weekend. Alex is fantastic, couldn't do enough for us, and was responsive whenever we needed anything. The ability to have vegetables and flowers delivered from the adjacent farm was a fabulous surprise. We had 18 people staying there and there was plenty of room for everyone and everyone loved the property. One of the best managed and most comfortable rentals ever!
Beautiful home with attentive hosts
We rented this home for our company retreat. Alex and Linsay were more than attentive and receptive throughout the process to our special requests, and helped figure out logistics for fitting 18 people and the best uses of the space. The home was clearly meticulously and lovingly kept. It truly felt like moving into a home together for a day. We spent time in their spacious yard spaces, talked over a fire on their porch, and all slept soundly. We were able to order catering from Panera and DeCiccos nearby (ended up with way too much food) but felt a little better about it because of their composting system. The house was full of amazing flowers and little notes to give us history and context. If I could describe it in a short phrase it would be, Good Vibes. We were all blown away and felt really privileged to be able to stay there. Also, the bathroom on the first floor was amazing! Check it out.
Definitely would not rent this home if you aren't willing to be careful or have a group you don't think can take care of the space, as it's full of vintage pieces that need a little extra care and caution. We had no issues.
