About the property

House, 6 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, 1 Half Baths, Sleeps 13

With a private tennis court, a game room, and room for as many as 13 guests, this lovely Edgartown vacation rental is the perfect choice for your next Martha's Vineyard getaway!

Only four miles from downtown Edgartown, it's just a short way to gorgeous views and hikes at the Mass Audubon's Felix Neck Wildlife Sanctuary. The surrounding area is calm and peaceful, and the bike path into town goes right by the house.

Curl up to watch some cable in one of the two living areas with TVs, or select some music over the WiFi and play it over the sound dock. Downstairs, the basement has a pool table and a Ping-Pong table where you can be entertained for hours. If you're feeling a bit more active, head to the private tennis court outside or take the kids to play on the playground!

A fully equipped kitchen has updated appliances, including a dishwasher, and fun extras like a mixer and a blender. Outside on the deck there's a grill for sunny afternoon barbecues and patio furniture where you can enjoy the food in the fresh air. Or, if you'd rather, there's a formal dining room for a more sophisticated atmosphere.

There are six bedrooms, sleeping a total of 13 guests (eight adults maximum). Two of the bedrooms are ideal for couples, one with a king bed and one with a queen. The rest of the bedrooms are great for kids - one has a double bed and twin bunk bed, while the others have twins. There are three-and-a-half bathrooms and a washer and dryer, so it's easy to keep everyone neat and clean.

Bring along the camera so you can photograph the historic Cape Poge Lighthouse, fish for bass to eat for dinner, or tour Vincent House, the oldest house on the whole island.

For a great time with your favorite people, reserve your dates at this wonderful Martha's Vineyard vacation home now!

About Vacasa, MA - Martha's Vineyard Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Oak Villa, Edgartown

Nice large clean family home, close to beaches, shopping and ferry. Nice, little private neighborhood. House is great for children with game room and play area. Tennis court is also a plus. Can accomodate large family get together. Lovely location!

Health Hazard- Black Mold and No Hot Water- Among Numerous Other Issues

 • 1 of 5

This house was virtually uninhabitable and a considerable health hazard. We arrived late Thursday night for a long, relaxing weekend to celebrate a family wedding and my mother's birthday, but unfortunately had to spend half of our day on Friday finding new accommodations and complaining to the management company about the myriad issues we encountered during our short stay.

From the second we walked in the door, we smelled something extremely stale, musty, and dank. It was very clear the house had not been inhabited for quite some time. The warm refrigerator and cold water in the kitchen were another indication of what we would encounter in the morning. The issues with this property ranged from the mundane and cosmetic - lack of basic supplies and outdated, tattered furnishings, to serious and health threatening - no hot water and black mold infestation in the basement and possibly through the rest of the house.

In the basement it was quite evident that the house had known mold issues that were attempted to be masked with several coats of paint. When we realized the extent of the black mold issue, we decided to make other arrangements. We had a 4 month old and two adults with severe respiratory issues to which this posed a major health hazard.

This property is completely misrepresented on VRBO and several other booking sites. When I addressed the issues with the management company, VACASA, both their local and national representatives gave me conflicting information and kept me waiting for calls back. There was a general lack of concern about the condition of the property and when I requested to be moved, I was informed that they did not have any other accommodations for us and that we would be on our own.

Here is a list of the issues we encountered:

Extensive Black Mold in the basement and stairs leading up to the main level

Broken Water Heater/No Hot Water

Stove would not turn off

Stale musty smell

Insects and spiders all over the house

Bunk Beds very unstable and not attached to each other

Broken AC Window Units

Ripped, stained, and battered couches

Stained bed linens

Broken Bed Frames

Broken dining table chairs

Mold covered decks

Cracked, broken and potholed tennis court

Lacked basic necessities- extra toilet paper, paper towels, dish soap, hand soap, extra towels, etc

Several people were trapped in one of the bedrooms because of a faulty door frame

Game room- pool table did not have balls or cue sticks
