We had an amazing time! My fiance and I wanted a short weekend getaway from Virginia with our dog and found this perfect little cottage. The creek was beautiful and relaxing and had a great little outdoor area with a fire pit. It was so clean and everything you needed was right at your hands. Patsy was very kind and let us stay an extra night due to inclement weather. During off season there isn't a lot to do around town, but it was such a nice, warm and cozy little cottage. Would highly recommend and 10/10 stay again!
We stayed for a week in the Blackberry Suite and had a wonderful, relaxing vacation. We had everything we needed and the family was a pleasure to interact with as well. The area is so peaceful and quiet. I also highly recommend booking a horse ride. It was worth every penny and then some. Thank you for a terrific anniversary.
What a getaway! We spent 3 nights in the lodge bunk-room with our dog as all other rooms were full. We loved having coffee on the front porch with the mountain vista and seeing the early morning deer. We went on a couple of hikes on the property and lazed about on the open meadows.
Patsy and her daughter Becky make you feel right at home. The Lodge Living room/dining room is great. We met the other guests and played cards and games with them and in the evening my husband played the piano and we shared some wine.
This is a very relaxing and quiet place to stay. If you are looking for hot tubs and large screen TVs, then this is not for you. There is wi-fi. The town of Spruce Pine is nearby with a great grocery and restaurant, as well as a wal-mart etc.. The rates are fantastic as are the views.
We will be back same time next year.
My experience with Patsy and renting the cottage was great! Checked in very late due to travel and she had everything ready. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The people were very nice and the locations was great to go to lots of places. Spruce Pine is a nice little town with some great little shopping stores/restaurants, etc. Access to the Parkway was easy and in the middle of some great places to visit while on the parkway. Patsy's daughter took us on a trail ride and it was so relaxing and they were so easy to work with. Will go back to stay again with family!
Thank you to Peak Mountain Family!

On 300 private acres, we're secluded but not remote as we're only about 2.5 miles from Historic Downtown Spruce Pine, a lovely town of antique shops and unique restaurants as well as groceries, gas, and medical facilities. In addition to antique and craft shopping, local activities include horseback riding, fishing, tubing, golf, and gem mining. Spruce Pine and Mitchell County have an array of small town festivals throughout the year while also resisting over commercialization. Mitchell County is conveniently located half way between the high country ski slopes and the culturally diverse mountain city of Asheville, NC. Within about an hour radius you'll find snow skiing at Beech Mountain, Sugar Mountain, and Appalachian Ski Mtn, hiking at Mt. Mitchell, Roan Mountain, and Grandfather Mountain, whitewater rafting, zip-lining, and much more!.
