Villa, 1,3 or 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3-4 Baths, (Sleeps 8-10)

Enjoy a unique, beachfront luxury villa vacation on Cancun's best beach in the hotel zone! The only thing closer to the water is the fish! Only 10 minutes from Cancun's airport, let your vacation begin in this quaint boutique condo community for the true feel of Mexico.

My well-maintained villa has the feel of a beach home but also includes hotel amenities. The resort property has 2 pools including a shallow pool for children, a restaurant, a pool and a beach bar and a palm tree garden. Unlike staying in a high rise with long hallways, a villa vacation offers you space and privacy. Be “exclusive,” not” inclusive!” Easy access to Cancun’s premier restaurants and attractions via buses running every few minutes. I also offer an optional Meal Plan including breakfast and lunch. Excursion desk available to book tours to the Mayan Riveria’s famous ruins, snorkel and eco parks. For a memorable, one-of-a-kind vacation to relax or explore, feel 'at home' in my home!

Ask about sleeping arrangements for maximum comfort. Crib and high chair available.

- 3 bedroom penthouse - 2 king bedrooms, 1 bedroom w 2 double beds, 3 baths, kitchen, living room, private terrace with panoramic view of the beach (rented separately can accommodate up 6 adults comfortably or adults with children). About Terri

Hi, my name is Terri and I would be happy to speak with you in person to answer any questions you have about villa or beautiful Cancun. Please call me.

Terri purchased this villa in 1998

Why Terri chose Cancun

The weather and the water of Cancun are the best in the world.

What makes this villa unique

We love the Solymar because our 3 level Villa is right on the beach in the hotel zone. We can relax in total solitude or take advantage of the nightlife- restaurants, and clubs and shopping malls located in the hotel zone! We enjoy being able to eat breakfast and lunch in our villa while viewing the water and enjoy fine dining and entertainment at night at one of the fantastic restaurants in Cancun at night. It is the perfect vacation spot!

Great place for large groups

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 14 arrived in Cancun for our week of fun and relaxation. It turned out perfectly. 8 of us stayed in Villa #8.

This place has everything you need. 2 sitting areas, 4 Bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.

Direct access to the beach is great along with 2 private terraces for those that don't want to deal with the sand.

Terri has a great support staff in Cancun and they take care of any concerns promptly. Her manager took care of slight AC issue ASAP.That issue is all that we had during our stay.

However Terri's ace in the hole is her maid/housekeeper....Erika....she is just a joy.....She is just as sweet as she can be....Also a great cook....please take advantage of the Meal plan is well worth it.....Erika took care of our entire group of 14 for breakfast and lunch.

Our entire group can't wait to go back....a great time at a great place.

Thx Terri

Sad Sisters

  • 1 of 5

I hate to be so different from the other reviews but I feel I need to let folks hear the downsides of this unit.

First, there is no oven in the upper unit. There is a stovetop and a one slice toaster oven/coffemaker we pulled out from under the counter. We, along with help from sweet Erica, were never able to get the oven working in the lower unit so baking was out of the question.

Next, the refrigerator in the upper unit made a horrible roaring noise and would not keep our food cold. We finally had a handyman come in and look at but the response was to unplug it and let it defrost. I used a hairdryer to melt the layers of ice which helped the freezer but did nothing to keep our food cold in the lower part. The noise coming from it was over the top and intolerable.

Third, there was no wifi in the upper two floors. We found the router and line in the upper unit but traced the line downstairs where we found it dangling loose with no place to connect it. If you wanted wifi, you had to stand in the master bedroom on the first floor as close to the router as possible.

Last and most importantly, the red flags were up and down the entire beach the ten days we were there. My son came in the first day, completely disappointed after the lifeguard told him he could not get in the water, not even his feet. This went on all week. Our kids would walk down to the right where they saw other kids getting in but were eventually called out. The last day they went to the left where a bunch of people were let in on a sandbar. Again, they were called out because they didn't have the wrist bands belonging to the place next door. Mexico beaches are public beaches but we were not in our own country and had no leg to stand on. I don't put the owner at fault over this item but did want folks to know.

There really needs to be a contact at the resident for emergencies. It should not take several days to get in touch with the owner only to hear she was on a trip and had no email. Yeah, well so are we and it was not going so well. I really don't see how these units could be rented separately unless folks knew what they were getting.

On a personal note, as if this is not all personal, this was a trip to help my sister and I get over the recent loss of our mother. It had been three years of sickness and sadness I wish never to repeat. It meant a lot to us. I apologize of the long review but it was an honest one.

Owner's Response: It’s always disappointing not to be able to please every guest, and I was surprised to have finally gotten a “sad” review in more than 10 years of renting my property. I am happy to respond. I believe that most of the disappointment came from angst unrelated to my villa. This renter’s husband had been in a motorcycle accident and asked if I could change their dates. I was happy to accommodate but did not have any weeks open until the following month. They decided to go anyway. As far as the red flags, well, that is something I can’t control! If I did, I wouldn’t be trying to make a living off of renting! However, I am told that the day after she complained that the water was completely calm. This complaint does not seem at all to be legitimate. Saying that her children were called out of the ocean when they were at a sandbar at the property next door is suspect, since she already admits that all beaches in Mexico are public. I have owned my villa since 1998 and I can tell you, no one has ever said to get out of the water if you are not wearing a wristband. She addressed the oven in the penthouse. Although I do have two kitchens, the penthouse does only have a cooktop. Most folks simply do not turn on an oven in a hot climate, nor do they do extensive cooking, but one is available on the main level, and I was there only 2 weeks prior and it was working fine! I also have other appliances mentioned, in addition to a large electric pan. The problem with the refrigerator in the penthouse was because these guests overloaded it and left it slightly open, leaving the ice melting inside, only to have it refreeze in globs. As far as getting in touch with me, it is true that I was on a cruise ship at the time, but apparently she did not report any of her concerns to my maid who contacts my maintenance guy. I don’t live on the property and I leave a full packet of information and instructions on what do to if there is a problem. As far as the Wifi, I had installed a router and it was apparently stolen. I have already replaced it, works perfectly throughout the first floor. I welcome constructive criticism..because feedback from my guests helps me improve my property. I am not an absentee owner; I travel every 3 to 4 months to Mexico to “fluff the pillows,” repair, paint and update my villa regularly! Though this guest believes her review to be “honest,” if she complains about the waves of an ocean, I’d have to question her sincerity!

Perfect Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

"Las Cinco Hermanas" visited the lovely Villa Number 8 the third week of a frigid northern January to celebrate a birthday. Cancun, the weather, the water, the location, the villa, and Erika, (doubling as cook and maid), made this a birthday celebration to remember.

The most striking and important benefit is the location and the view. The Villa is RIGHT ON THE BEACH, just a few steps from the shoreline. There was no need to go down to the beach and hustle for the shade of the limited palapas. Terri has a marquee that offers shade for the padded lounge chairs. This is where we spent our afternoons, listening to the sounds of the sea, marveling at the ever changing colors of sky, reading, talking and relaxing.

Our mornings started with view of the sunrise - always different - always

miraculous, along with coffee ready to brew, set up by Erika the night before.

Between breakfast and lunch, while Erika cleaned the Villa and prepared our lunch, we either hung out on the terrace or gathered by the pools, which are between the villas and the condos, just out the entry door and up a few stairs.

Erika's lunches were delicious and served outside at the table on the terrace. Memorable main courses were spaghetti with poblano crema and breaded, fried chicken breasts, poblanos stuffed with beef, beef fajitas, rolled chicken stuffed with cheese in Erika's wonderful poblano cream sauce and fish tacos

Erika added to the relaxing week immensely. She is just a sweet heart and added to our enjoyment of our stay just by her presence and her cheerful "Buenas dias" each morning.

We were lucky to also be able to view the moon rise some evenings from the terraces. But our evenings and rainy times were mainly enjoyed in the living area downstairs. The decor is welcoming and eclectic. Of special note is a whole wall of various mask on display. Your eye was always drawn to them. Various ceramic animals in strategic places added to the ambience as well.

The resort is gated and has unobtrusive security guards. It is well established and extremely clean. It is located a short drive to the airport and a bus ride to many wonderful restaurants.

Come on down and relax at Terri's wonderful Solymar Villa 8! You'll get the rest and relaxation you need and an up close and personal experience of the Caribbean Sea. Highly recommend you engage Erika to cook for you. It will add an extra dimension to your Cancun experience.

Great Vacation Spot

  • 5 of 5

We will be back. Your home was awesome and fit our family well. We traveled with a total of 10 people. What a fantastic location, the view, the beach everything was great. Erika was awesome, fantastic, sweet, and so much more. We wish we could bring her home with us. The meals were fantastic . We are truly looking at dates when we can return. Met some of your great neighbors which were very welcoming. I was a little worried about taking our family out of the U.S. however not one time did we feel unsafe. Everyone we met was very friendly. All the information you provided was very helpful and without that info it sure would have been stressful. The USA transfer service was terrific. Thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your home. Everyone thought this was the best vacation. Very relaxing. Next time we will venture to XEL HA

Great time in this Villa. Access to the private patio and to the hotel pool was wonderful. We had a great time there. The Villa was spacious and very clean. The bus picks you up right out front of the Hotel to go shopping, sightseeing, clubbing, etc. it was an awesome experience! Thank you Terri for having a great place.

My paradise

  • 5 of 5

I can now say that I know what it is like to vacation in paradise. From the location alone, with multiple balconies and rooms that overlook the ocean (which was just a few steps from the patio door), this villa had me speechless. I hate staying in hotels because they feel dirty, small, or haven't be redecorated in years. However, this was not the case at this villa. Every room was clean, updated, and felt like a home--not a hotel! The beach was beautiful and we even got to carry baby sea turtles to the water after they hatched! To say I was sad to go is an understatement. I will definitely vacation at this villa again.
