I enjoy the hiking, backcountry skiing, rock climbing and ice climbing around Ouray. Quite a few of my friends have migrated here from Boulder, and I've been thinking that the San Juans would be a good place to retire- or maybe just work a little less!
The view from the deck is the best in the valley! This is a great place to get together with family and friends.
We had a large group with us including children and there was a place for everyone to sleep. Kitchen and eating space was very roomy. I have never done dishes with a more beautiful view of the mountains! Great deck for reading a book and looking at the mountains. Garage door was hard to get down and the downstairs had a musty smell. Otherwise property was nice for a large group and convenient to town. Any questions we had were promptly answered. Thanks much!
The property was clean and modern with plenty of room for ten. The kitchen needs attention --the stove barely works, dishes are a mix of odds and ends, and there is not one knife that is sharp. The fridge should have an ice maker in a summer rental. The rental process was very haphazard. We rented and paid in full in Feb. but heard nothing more until we called in June, a week before our arrival. No rental agreement or information ever came until we requested it. However, when we did have issues, after arrival, they were dealt with quickly. The view from this house is fantastic and it is well located for various activities.
This house easily accommodated 9 adults and 1child. Plenty of seating and comfortable beds.
If you plan to cook a lot, suggest you bring a sharp knife or two and a baking sheet. Flame on stove is low-allow extra time for cooking!
Plenty of games on hand, plenty of towels (even beach towels for pool), and several fans available. It was in the 90's during our stay, and it was problematic to cool the house down before the sun went down -not unbearable, but uncomfortable. The fans helped.
The view is unbelievable-stunning!!
Located close to Ouray.
We had several ice climbing families that we needed to pack into one space and this house was perfect. While not a 5 star hotel, it had everything that we needed and the space to do it in! Peggy, our host, was attentive and responded quickly to our inquiries. Thanks, Peggy!
We loved the property - it slept 12 of us comfortably and there is a great open space for eating cooking hanging out. Close to ouray and easy access, it was perfect!
It could have used a bit more prep - the wood pellets were empty for the stove, and a few small things like this but overall wonderful experience and will try to come here again,
We stayed here last year and liked it enough to reserve the property again.
Upon arrival the property really shows signs of wear and lack of maintenance. We noticed bad smell as soon as we opened the door. after airing the place out for 4 hours it still smells and the place is really HOT! Needs Air conditioning!
The kitchen, dining area and living room have a few very small windows for ventilation making it very hot... It was 82 degrees in the home after having windows open and fans running for 4 hours.
