The narrow little roads around St. Peter's, the Borgo area, have a different feel and you can sense the hum of everyday life. Ordinary people live here and go about their daily business like their fellow Romans, who breath less holy air, away from the magnificence of the Vatican. Our electrician is the Pope's electrician.
Prati is a great shopping area for shoes, handbags and clothes in all price ranges and there are many tempting profumerie selling cosmetics and perfumes. A Saturday morning spent window-shopping in Via Cola di Rienzo you are ready for a more self-indulgence and pleasure in the fabulous food stores.
The gastronomia Franchi is right next to the Alladin's cave that is Castroni and nearby supermarket in the basement of COIN store. All these food stores are irresistible. Franchi has a great salumeria counter piled high with every form of temptation, with cheeses from Italy, France, and Great Britten and many different hams and salamis. Deeper into store are prepared dishes like stuffed tomatoes and splendid looking shelled prawns, and Rome's favourite fried nibbles, which are prepared in batches. I was born in the apartment below ours. Our daughter lives in the other apartment opposite and it is very convenient to have my space yet so near my dear family as I am married to a wonderful English man and live a lot of the time in the UK. We have a daughter and two sons and 8 grandchildren.
Clara Censon purchased this apartment in 1920
My father bought the apartments in 1920 and left them to the family in his will.
I am glad to have been so lucky to have my place in my city, it makes me feel I am still a Roman.
Vaticano and Prati. Although this area is dominated by St. Peter's dome, and the attractions of the Vatican Museum and the Sistine Chapel, food is what draws Romans to Prati. Two of the city's best food stores, Castroni and Franchi, on the main shopping street via Cola di Rienzo, are where Romans from all over the city stock up on prosciutto, cheese, salame and olive oil. In this distric you can see a great range of Historical ages and architectural style as you move away from the Roman Empire in the historic centre. Before Italy was unified the neighbourhood called Prati was just open fields and meadows (prati), but in 1880 careful planning and construction led to the ordered grid of streets that you see today.
St. Peter's dome acts as a homing beacon when exploring the city. The other main landmark is Castel St. Angelo, started life in AD139 as Hadrian's mausoleum. In its time it has been a palace, a stronghold and a prison. The Castle gets its name from the angel.
We had a beautiful time during our visit and enjoyed to stay near the Vatican And Angelus Castle. If we ever would travel to Rome, we would like to ask you again to spend this time in your apartment. We also would recommend to our friends to stay in your apartment in Rome.
Our children were very happy in your flat, because of all the modern tectonics and equipment is inside. We enjoyed also our staying, because the views and size of the apartment is grandiose.
Excellent location, very well located, exactly as advertised.
Very clear and quiet.
We found everything we needed in the apartment and in the district.
Perfect for 4 persons (2 adults + 2 childs)
I spent ten days in Rome in October to celebrate a special birthday with some friends. Clara's apartment was exactly as advertised, being nicely furnished, convenient to all major sights, especially the Vatican, and very comfortable. It is located in the Prati district, a neighborhood in which real people live, shop, and go out to dinner. One can be close to anything you want to see while being shielded from the mobs that can overrun Rome.I highly recommend this property for a relaxing and very comfortable stay.c
So comfortable, so convenient, so convivial. The apartment suited us so well. Close to so much, fantastic restaurants nearby. Thank you.
Comfortable apt close to Vatican Great shopping and dining area. Owner accommodated last minute booking issues. Would highly recommend for couples and small family. Would return. Very affordable
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment in the heart of Rome. The place is spotless, well equipped, amazingly located and feels really homely. 5 out of 5!
We loved our 5 day stay in this lovely apartment. From our first contact with Clara to the end of our stay, service was provided and questions were answered promptly. The location for us was perfect as we wished to spend time in and around St. Peter's. The apartment is on a quiet street and is quite soundproofed as well. It is huge by European standards, with lots of storage space for clothing and suitcases. There are windows on two sides so that there is a beautiful cross breeze of fresh air. The pictures on the web site are a true likeness so there are no bigs surprises when you enter. The bed was comfortable, th bathroom shower large with a good shower head and lots of hot water, and the tv had many English channels. The kitchen is very basic and small, but was adequate for our purposes as we ate both lunch and dinner out. There are lots of good restaurants nearby, but our favourite was Da Romola alla Mole Adriana, just up the street. We ate there every night except 1 as they were closed Tuesday. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Rome. Thanks Clara and Francesca.
We are located next to St Peters, the Vatican, near the river Tiber. The apartment is surrounded by museums and theatres, one can enjoy a variety of activities and shopping, a romantic, exciting, peaceful and luxurious holiday. The apartment is in walking distance form the sites of Rome- Piazza Navona- Piazza di Spagna- The Vatican Museum with the Sistine Chapel and Castel St. Angelo, Emperor Hadrian's mausoleum, converted later as a fortress and a prison and where Tosca through herself in the river Tiber.

Ordinary people live here and go about their daily business like their fellow Romans, who breath less holy air, away from the magnificence of the Vatican. Our electrician is the Pope's electrician. Via Cola di Rienzo running all the way from the Vatican to Piazza del Popolo is a great fashionable shopping street for shoes, handbags, jewelery, clothes and more.
