From the moment we arrived, Donna and her family didn't just exceed our hopes and expectations for our holiday, they blew them out of the water. Il Cipresso is the most idyllic place to stay, situated in an enviable position overlooking the town of Sarteano with wonderful resultant views. The apartment has absolutely everything you could possibly want for your holiday and then goes that bit further by providing extras like a lap top computer, the most amazing welcome pack and real homely touches and even the bed is wonderfully comfortable. The garden, which is beautiful, is the perfect place to relax and Il Cipresso has an abundance of comfy loungers and sun shades dotted all around to ensure maximum relaxation and enjoyment, and then of course there is the pool area and yet more loungers for sun worshippers. It is conveniently placed to explore Tuscany, Umbria and surrounds. Nothing I could possibly say would prepare you for what a gem Il Cipresso is for the perfect Tuscan holiday and the perfect Tuscan hosts.
We absolutely love Sarteano and have been coming here for years. This was our third visit staying at Il Cipresso. This accommodation allows us to stay in luxury.
We had been at Easter before so this was our first time staying with Donna and her family in the summer. It was very hot in Italy this year but we were very comfortable in the beautiful apartment. The accommodation has everything you would need and is set in gardens overlooking the Tuscan and Umbrian countryside. The owner of the property is a gem. She looked after us and ensured that we had a perfect stay. She had the house well prepared and an amazing welcome pack of local food, oil and wine. There was also free access to the gardens with every summer fruit and vegetable for us to use when we prepared our own meals. The gardens also have plenty of relaxation areas and offer a wonderful peaceful retreat. Sarteano town was lively all summer with concerts, festivals and markets.
We would not hesitate to recommend Il Cipresso as a holiday destination. Donna and Serge made our summer holiday unforgettable and we cannot wait to return.
Il Cipresso is the ground floor apartment of Donna and Serge's house. It is a very comfortable, well equipped and nicely secluded apartment. It opens out onto a heavenly garden which has the most stupendous view over the lovely Val de Chiana.
Donna and Serge are the kindest and most hospitable people and we had an unforgettable stay. Sarteano is a very interesting little town with excellent restaurants and is an ideal centre for exploring the incredible riches of this part of Tuscany and beyond. We would certainly recommend this property.
Donna and Serge made us feel at home in this beautiful apartment surrounded by lush gardens. We were provided with a constant supply of home cooked food and fresh fruit and veg from the garden. The Wifi and huge DVD library were a real bonus for our children. The kitchen was the best equipped we've had in 17 years of visiting Italy. Would highly recommend.

This is a spacious modern apartment run by friendly and helpful owners in a little Tuscan town with a spectacular view. Sarteano is a friendly picturesque town without being full of tourists but still easy to communicate in English. Great place from which to do day trips to the Southern Tuscan tourist towns. The apartment is exactly as described and pictured ( Excellent). My wife and I felt our week long stay at Il Cipresso was the perfect Tuscan holiday.

Colline Toscane Apartments are nestled on the hills of Sarteano, a lovely medieval village of Etruscan origin within the province of Siena. Situated between the Val di Chiana valley on the east and the famous Val d'Orcia on the west, Sarteano is deep in the fairytale landscape of Tuscany. The village offers over half a dozen eateries as well as banks, italian bars and all the shops you should need. There are also a number of wineries, patio restaurants and cafes within the historical centre, giving you plenty of choice when you want to relax. The apartments are conveniently situated from the village, a 10 minutes walk will get you there! Sarteano, which is a short distance from the Autostrada del Sole (A1), is handily placed between Rome and Florence. The cities of Perugia, Siena, Arezzo, Orvieto, as well as smaller places of historic and artistic interest such as Pienza, Cortona, Montalcino and San Gimignano are within easy reach of the village. Of local interest are the thermal resorts of San Casciano dei Bagni and Rapolano Terme, famous for their waters since Roman times, and the hot springs of Bagno Vignoni with its ancient Roman bath. A 30 minute drive to the East will get you to the cute little ferry boats of Lake Trasimeno (visible from the many balconies and garden), so take a picnic, explore the little islands and swim from their beaches!
