Weekend away with friends
We loved the cottage with all the space and numerous bathrooms / wet room. Very warm in all areas of the cottage with plenty of hot water.
Our hosts were very obliging and even pointed us in the direction of the local Point to Point races!
An enjoyable weekend loved by one and all, including Freddie the dog.
We are delighted you had a good weekend.
We used this property to celebrate our Golden Wedding with family and friends
The cottage was very comfortable everything was provided for our stay we only had to take our food, and personal things lovely bed linen and towels for inside and outside use, we would recommend this property as a good place to stay and some lovely places to visit, we had our celebration meal over the road at the Cat & Custard Pot very good food and not expensive.
Lovely barn conversion, great stay
Sherwood was just right for an extended-family weekend. Downstairs bedroom and wet room for my in laws and lots of space upstairs and down for the remaining 9 of us. Great showers apart from one downstairs. Lovely quirky layout and very well equipped (apart from the WiFi which just wasn’t adequate for a large group). The pool area is beautiful and we were very glad to be able to use it after a hot afternoon at Westonbirt Arboretum.
The directions got us to the property but after the owners showed the first arrivals to the door, the rest of us couldn’t find it - definitely needs some signage or even a name plate on the gate.
Great stay and would definitely visit again for a large group.
Very Nice accommodation
Great base for exploring the Southern end of the Cotswolds
Roomy, comfortable and full of character
We had a fabulous couple of nights getting all the family together under one roof - all twelve of us! The building is old, full of character and a bit creaky, but so roomy, warm and comfortable. There was everything there that we needed and Beth brought over bedding and towels for the sofa bed for our last minuters!
A beautiful place to stay in lovely countryside, close to Tetbury and other Cotswold towns and villages. It’s better even than the pictures!
ideal property for large group and great location
We had a wonderful time - a group of 9 of us having a reunion of the holiday to the Grand Canyon which we met on in 2000! The cottage had lots of space and was well equipped for cooking and relaxing. The pub (Cat and Custard Pot) served a tasty meal on Sat night and made a cake so we could celebrate my husban'd 70th birthday...and we went back for Sunday lunch too! A very lovely long weekend - thank you to Hugo for making sure we were ok!
Our property is located between the two beautiful market towns of Malmesbury and Tetbury on the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border. Malmesbury Abbey is well worth a visit as is the outstanding Georgian Gothic Parish Church of Tetbury and Chavenage House, setting for may scenes of Poldark. Our nearest large town is Cirencester, heart of Roman England. Bath with its recently renovated Thermal Baths, Bristol, home of Brunel's SS Great Britain, Cheltenham with it racecourse and Gloucester are all within easy driving distance and is Swindon with the famous Outlet Shopping Centre. Shipton Moyne is in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with easy walking from the village. There is easy access from us to the Fosse Way and the Cotswold Way. Westonbirt Arboreteum is a couple of miles away as is the Beaufort Polo Club. Day trips include Warwick Castle, Longleat House and Park, Cotwold Wildlife Park and Bowood. Gatcombe and Badminton Horse trials are also within easy reach of our cottage. Other Activities: Wake boarding
