When you're ready to explore a little, maybe visit Sauteurs - stroll along the ocean side, direct from your private beach access path, and perhaps have a cold drink en route at Agnes' bar.
Sauteurs itself is a most welcoming town with internet cafe, two banks, two schools, varied bars and eating places and most of all an integrated and family based community where you'll be made very welcome.
A walk down to one of the nearby Inns will give you the opportunity to meet visitors from Europe, Scandinavia, the US and Canada.
Slightly further afield - you must visit Bathway beach - jaw-droppingly beautiful, almost deserted and safe bathing and enjoy a meal at one of the small restaurants there or go further afield to Grenville on the East Coast or Gouyave on the West Coast to sample Grenadian cuisine and way of life.
Visit near or far beaches, waterfalls, go river rafting or snorkelling, explore a working cocoa estate or rum distillery. Take in a fish fry in the evening. All are within 30 minutes' drive from the cottage.

This was my 1st trip to Grenada, my husband is a foreign national. Needed something away from the hustle. The cottage was perfect, it is personal, relaxing accomodating with alot of comfort. Beach was extremely private but water too rough to swim out, just let the waves cool us off lying in the sand. We would swim in the cool off pool. Tropical bleeze blew through the cotttage where the was no need for a/c keeping cool and away from insect bites. We always have to be connected.. and wifi was great. Premises secure with alarm and night watchman Roy. Roy friendly polite and alert. Recommend this cottage to anyone, as this cottage is like home.
We thought Nicole's place and Grenada were absolutely wonderful. We did have a few teething problems when we arrived, but these were quickly sorted with the help of the lovely Linette and I have to say we had one of the most relaxing and enjoyable holidays we have ever had. The beaches are beautiful, we particularly loved Bathway beach and Aggie's place there (wonderful rum punch!) while the children's favourite was definitely the beach at Nicole's place where they loved the big waves! Whenever we visited somewhere they were always happy to return to 'our beach'! We visited the Grand Anse beach, La Segesse Beach, the sulphur springs in the mountains at Clabony (rather a challenging drive but very enjoyable all the same!), the Grand Etang nature Reserve where we hand fed the Mona monkeys bananas and dipped our toes in the volcano crater, we went river tubing, tasted the chocolate at the Belmont Estate and Henry took us the Sandy Island and turtle watching on Levera beach. Sadly we didn't see any of the adult leatherbacks, but the children were very excited to see two baby turtles making their way to the sea. We visited several waterfalls; Mt Carmel where the children joined several local children sliding down the large waterfall slide, Concord waterfall where we all enjoyed jumping off the rocks, we hiked to Au Coin waterfall from there, but beat a hasty retreat as there were so many mosquitoes! We also went to Seven Sisters waterfall where my son aged 13 did a 35ft jump from the large waterfall there!
Must mention the children's favourite place to eat, The Petit Anse Hotel just up the road and the fantastic hospitality of Max the chef there.
We did so much and it was simply wonderful to return at the end of a day and relax on the balcony of Nicole's Place, enjoying a drink and admiring the lovely view. I will always remember the feeling of total contentment being there gave me. I feel that because we drove around we experienced a little of the real Grenada and boy what a place it is. We will definitely return to Grenada at some point in the future and we will definitely stay at Nicole's place, I'm just so glad we found it, it's a little piece of paradise. Any downsides? Only that we had to come home!

I’ve been fortunate enough to have stayed at Nicole’s Place for a total of some ten weeks in December 2011, and again in January and February 2012. Friends and family have joined me from time to time – the whole experience is a joy and a privilege and we look forward to many return visits.
The setting is unsurpassed – immediately overlooking the ocean, steps giving direct access to the beautiful beach, tucked away in a very private location, yet with good walking access to the shops and services of Sauteurs (along the beach), the great food at the Heights restaurant/bar and the full facilities of the nearby top class hotel Petite Anse.
Accommodation, and particularly kitchen facilities, at Nicole’s Place are well suited to group/family vacations. The fridge is vast and very efficient. The open sky shower provided with the master bedroom is an experience to be savoured. The pelican family from nearby Davi Bay visits morning and late afternoon, training their youngsters in the arts of dive fishing - all immediately below the ocean terrace. A spectacular sight.
Harriet and DJ George, owners of the nearby Heights, and Annie and Phillip Clift, owners of Petite Anse Hotel, are all long term (ex UK) residents of North Grenada and they’re all very welcoming and helpful in recommending places to visit – and making you feel immediately at home. See their websites www.grenadaheights.co.uk and www.petiteanse.com for local info.
This part of the Caribbean is dramatically beautiful and unspoilt and we found everyone's welcome at all times to be open, very genuine and friendly.
Facilities are wholly modern – the climate is totally relaxing, the ocean watching a daily delight, and pace and quality of life in this wonderful part North Grenada is an experience not to be missed. We found Nicole’s Place to be very, very special.
I was one of the first visitors to Nicole's Place in January 2011. We stayed for ten days and found everything just perfect. Arriving late evening, our first night was at the Allemande on Grand Anse beach - the journey to the north of the island in the dark is a bit of a challenge but great when you get used to it. We hired a RAV4 (a 4X4 is really essential to cope with Grenada roads which can be quite demanding) from Marcus Gabriel who was very helpful. We also found Linnette Worth, the agent for Nicole's Place, to be full of good advice.
Nicole's Place is a really super villa, has every facility that might be needed and is very very comfortable. The deck is spacious with a superb outlook facing north, nothing but ocean and distant islands. It's just 30-40 feet above and from the beach. When we were there the walk down to the beach was a bit hazzardous but there is now a completely safe timber stairway. We had a lot of our meals on the deck watching the constant display of diving pelicans.
The complex of three villas is just a few yards but a quite steep drop down from the road that leads from the small town of Sauteurs, about a mile away.. There you can buy almost all things for day to day needs. We found three really good nearby restaurants: The Heights within just a short distance but a stiif climb, Petit Anse part of a small modern hotel complex and Almost Paradise where Kate and Uwe Baumann gave us surprising but great meals on several evenings.
Grenada is an island full of surprises and we able to cover many of them but I know there are plenty left for my next visit whenever that may be. Levera and Bathway Beaches were great and there we enjoyed Aggies Restaurant and the Blue Beach Bar. Some of our other highlights were the River Antoine Rum Distillery, the Royal Mount Carmel Waterfall (quite an adventurous jungle trek), La Sagasse Bay and Pingouin Beach with The Aquarium Restaurant.
Without any doubt whatsoever, Nicole's Place on Grenada is just a perfect way to spend a holiday. Everyone we met was always helpful and very friendly.
We stayed at this ocean front property in late June. It was incredible! First, we were there for a week and only once did we run into anyone else on the beach. The beach was so secluded, it was perfect for a romantic getaway. There's a private entrance down the beach and we walked down there twice a day.
The house itself is adorable. We spent our mornings sipping coffee on the deck; our afternoons soaking our feet in the pool and drinking beer; and our evenings listening to the waves lap at the shore. It was perfect! It was the most relaxing vacation I've had in years. The one thing I would recommend is bring mosquito repellent for night. We were there during rainy season so there are more mosquitoes.
On that note, I would recommend the rainy season. IT wasn't that rainy, airfare was cheaper, we saw several stunning rainbows and less tourists.
We also talked to the agent who put us in touch with a local guide, Henry. Henry was great and helped us find leatherback turtles one night. He also guided us around to waterfalls and a park. I would recommend him. We would not have seen as much if we did not have Henry and would NEVER have seen the turtles. That was the highlight of our trip!
The drive to this part of the island is beautiful and the area is very authentic, which I love. I got a much better feel for the culture of the island here. Be sure to pop into a rum shop while you are here. Everyone in this area is so friendly. It's not as developed at St. George, which is exactly what I love. But if you're not a frequent traveler, it's also not so underdeveloped that it's intimidating. Really, it was just right.
I stayed in St. George for two nights and Nicole's place was a much better bargain. Even though I found a decent hotel there, we were stunned when we got our bar bill and realized we were paying like $17 for a rum drink. At the villa, we bought our own drinks and food and saved a bundle. We ate out at the Heights twice (a nearby restaurant) and it was fantastic! Order the chicken roti!
I will absolutely rent this place again. There were only two of us, but three bedrooms, so you could really have a bargain with three couples.
For the price, it can't be beat. It's a little paradise. As I write this, there is snow on the ground here. Sigh. I'd love to board a plane right now, drink a local beer, dip my feet in the pool, watch the ocean and enjoy the beauty of Nicole's place.
My husband and I came to stay at Nicole's place in the winter of 2011. The sea air is such an antidote to winter in the US. When we drove up to the complex, our hearts stopped and our mouths dropped open. This cottage allows for the most beautiful view of of the ocean north of the island. It is secluded and private, but also close enough to town and a few small resorts so that you can go get a meal or shop in town. The locals are very friendly, and everyone will already know you are staying at Nicole's place before you even introduce yourselves anyway! There is a great beach just down the road. The cottage itself is beautiful and well maintained, with a small private pool overlooking the sea and the surf. You will make a friend or two no matter how long your stay.

Your direct access to the beach is at the western end of Copland Bay, a spectacular mile long golden sand beach, running from your cottage to the fishing community of Sauteurs.
Sauteurs is a small and very friendly town with schools, shopping and banking facilities, locals' bars and eating places. The walk along the beach is delightful.
All cottages in Blue Sky South have panoramic views to the Grenadines, directly overlooking the ocean where the Caribbean Sea meets the Atlantic Ocean.
