This was a lovely cozy little cottage ideal for the two of us and our 10 year old springer spaniel. The bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept in away from home. It is a very well equipped cottage providing everything we needed. Parking outside the cottage is a bit tight if you have a large vehicle. We enjoyed our stay in the cottage and found it to be a good base for visiting the area. Sue was great being on hand if we needed to know anything.
Ideal cottage for visiting this area of Scotland
Well presented cottage in a quiet location. Clean and tidy, very large and comfortable bed, kitchen had everything we needed. Good TV and phone signals and reliable wifi. All in all we had a very relaxing stay and would highly recommend.
Lovely peaceful stay
Just a wee cottage but enough for two of us. Sue has provided everything we could need for a lovely stay. Any questions and she was right there for us. There’s some limitations but Sue can’t do anything about those! The road is narrow but we didn’t have any problems parking outside the cottage. Everyone mentions the huge comfortable bed! Such good nights sleep. Great friendly village, tea room sells nice ice cream. Lobster meal in the pub. Sue apologised for the weather - as though she could do anything about that! Lots to do round and about - never was bored. Thank you for a great holiday.
Just right for 2 and your 4 legged friend
A cosy haven to return to after exploring and walking the surrounding coastal paths to lovely beaches and castles.
Perfect village, perfect cottage. Sue is a sweetheart. If you want a true coastal Scotland experience, you won't do any better than this. A+.
Loved it, just a wonderful experience
Sue was so gracious and warm throughout this process. I wanted the experience of living in a real village. She nailed it! The clothes drying rail over the kitchen sink... the pretty dishes displayed on the shelves.. I don't want to spoil this for you. Hill Cottage is a wee treasure, in a village with lots of local characters. Don't miss dinner at the Anchor. You'll want to move here, so beware!
This quaint one bedroom cottage is set in the picturesque fishing village of Johnshaven (just off the A92) which is on the East Coast of Scotland, between Aberdeen (the Granite City ) and Dundee (City of Discovery ). The cottage has recently been upgraded and is well equipped, providing an ideal base for relaxing and also exploring the coast and nearby Deeside.
