This welcoming and superbly equipped apartment received a complete makeover winter 2015/6. Now it offers you and your family everything you could possibly want for a relaxing holiday by the sea together with beautiful shower rooms, light floor tiles plus an open plan kitchen and living area that brings so much more light into the apartment. As soon as you walk in the door, you feel at home. There is a Spanish digital flatscreen TV with DVD player. You can listen to music while enjoying the sea views from the balcony. The kitchen has fan oven, electric hob, Bosch dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and Bosch washing machine. The automatic Junker water heater and well-maintained plumbing ensure constant hot water in both showers. Wake up to birdsong every morning after a good night's sleep in comfortable beds. Enjoy dinner under the stars in the balmy evening air on the 40m2 roof terrace. This apartment has welcomed many return visitors - surely the best recommendation?

Beach and Surrounding Area: The beach is simply amazing! 12km of golden sand behind natural dunes. The Atlantic is tidal so the water is always clear and clean. The beach is so expansive that you will never be short of space. There are great beach bars with evening entertainment during the summer and water sports facilities are available for the more energetic. If you enjoy golf, there are several golf courses within 30 - 45 mins drive. You can go horse riding on the beach or walk in the nearby forests and hills. One of the best things is to watch the sunset over a cocktail at one of the beach bars. It just doesn't get better than that!

Bars and Restaurants: There are lots of restaurants and bars open in the summer (mid-June to mid-September). Out of season, there will always be a few open. Bars, restaurants and food shops are all within walking distance of the apartment . The Spanish love children and they are always welcome in the restaurants at any time of the day or night (provided they are well-behaved!) In the village of Zahara de los Atunes there are more tapas bars and restaurants plus the local fresh market! Just mooch through the little streets and take in the very Spanish atmosphere. The village is about a 15 minute walk along the road or 20 mins along the water's edge. There are taxis in the village if you feel too tired to walk back! By the way, if you're looking for discos, nightclubs and English breakfast you will HATE it here as they simply don't exist! However, if you like the thought of great music on the beach at night, step right up! Actually, talking of English Breakfast, you can get a very good Spanish version of it at El Atun - 10 minutes walk along the paved promenade. And there are great chill bars with romantic lighting, comfortable lounging chairs and fabulous music way into the night.

How to rent: Just contact me and having checked the availability all you need to do is send a deposit that will secure your booking, a month prior to arrival the balance will be due. On arrival, the last 200 euros plus the 400 euros damage deposit are due in cash.

Hi! I'm Barbara (on the right). I first visited Zahara de los Atunes in May 2001 and fell in love with the place. Of course, I told all my friends about it. Susan (on the left) and Victor were two of my closest friends. They came down to Zahara on my say so and felt the same way about it. We decided to buy this apartment between the 3 of us. Sadly, Victor passed away in 2005 but Susan and I continue to maintain and enjoy H442 between us. It has been equipped and furnished with love and attention to detail. Everyone finds it very comfortable and 'acojedor' which means 'cosy' in Spanish!

We were looking for 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a roof terrace. H442 has all of that. We bought it brand new, which means we chose the kitchen and purchased all the furniture. We chose Atlanterra Sol because it was the last but one complex to be built and was still under construction when we bought our apartment. We also liked the fact that it is surrounded by farming land on 3 sides with the sea in front. Just cross the road, pass the enticing cafe bars and restaurants and take the wooden boardwalk across the sands, down to the beach. What could be better?

What makes this apartment unique

Your car is parked in the semi-basement garage and stays cool even during the hottest day. Just take the lift to the top floor (4th) and open the front door to a lovely, welcoming apartment with plenty of space to spread out. Drinks on the balcony off the lounge, dinner on the roof terrace upstairs or simply stretch out on the sofa and read a book. Even with 6 of you in the flat, you can still find a place to call your own! Just 30 minutes walk along the beach brings you into the oldest part of Zahara de los Atunes with loads of bars and restaurants and a short taxi ride back home at the end of your evening. Or stroll along the promenade to one of several restaurants within a 10-15 minute walk from your apartment. This place is so special - you will just have to come back!

Incredible Holiday Apartment

Me and my wife recently returned from the wonderful apartment in Zahara de los Atunes. The apartment was very spacious, very clean, and very comfortable. All the amenities of home are within the apartment and the outside terrace and rooftop sun trap are private and sun drenched. The apartment is an approximate 3-5 minute walk to the beach and what a beach it is! The beautiful beach goes for miles and is very clean and perfect for long morning or evening walks. We walked every day from the apartment into the town via the beach (20 min), enjoyed tapas and a few vinos and then walked back for a great late afternoon swim in the ocean. The apartment also has a beautiful, large swimming pool within the apartment grounds. Zahara is perfectly located for easy day trips to Tarifa, Vejer, and Conil de la Frontera, and Cadiz. We will definitely return!

Genial apartamento

El apartamento cumple con todas las expectativas y es tal y como se muestra en las fotos, o incluso mejor. Muy amplio, totalmente nuevo y equipado, y a escasos metros de la playa. Además, tiene varios bares y restaurantes justo en frente.

Barbara estuvo súper atenta a lo largo de la reserva, dándonos información sobre todo lo que pedíamos y necesitábamos saber.

El único punto es que no está en Zahara pueblo, si no en Atlanterra, una urbanización al lado, por lo que para ir a Zahara habría que coger el coche, o dar un paseo de unos 20-30 minutos.

Genial, repetiríamos sin duda.

This coastline is famous for its laid-back atmosphere. You may never go back to the main road in your entire holiday - except to go home! Beach bars, beach restaurants and chill bars are all a short walk from the apartment. You can even get fresh bread from the supermercado across the road. Jump into your car, parked in the cool basement garage, and drive into the village. Here you have the morning fresh produce market, breakfast bars, tapas bars and many restaurants. In summer, there is also a lovely artisan market every night within the fortress walls. Leaving the village, you can explore Barbate, with its covered market and fishing port; Vejer de la Frontera, the nearest white village with 15C walls, cathedral and Old Town; Cape Trafalgar and the white surfing beaches of El Palmar; Cadiz and its Camara Oscura, Jerez de la Frontera with its sherry bodegas and Royal Spanish Riding School performances. Finally, this whole area is one of astounding natural beauty with National Parks and bird-breeding flats.

This coastline is one of the world's leading board, wind + kite surfing areas.

  • The bedrooms all have fitted wardrobes. The two lower bedrooms share a large bath / shower room and the upper bedroom has its own shower room. All rooms have large windows and shutters and the upstairs room leads out on to the roof terrace. On your arrival, you will have bed linen, bath and beach towels. Hair-dryers are provided. This apartment is also comfortable in the autumn winter months, with duvets, rugs and heaters. All the rooms have bed throws and curtains and have recently been re decorated.

The apartment is on the 4th floor, which is also the top floor of the block. There is a lift from the garage or ground level directly to the apartment. All doors are of a standard size and the surface is level from the lift and through the lower floor of the apartment except for a small lip to get out onto the lower balcony. The gardens are mature and are only for the guests staying in the complex as this is a gated community. There is an intercom to the apartment from the pedestrian entrance gate. The pool is for the guests at the apartments only and is set in the gardens. There is a private car parking space in the underground car park plus safe road parking at the entrance to the apartments. There is heating in the winter (central heating not necessary) and rugs if required. Child cot can be provided on your arrival for 20 euros but MUST be requested in advance.
