New Covered Private Boat Dock - Great Guest Reviews
About Marwan Qubti
Hi! Our names are Marwan and Jane Qubti. We are parents to 3 great kids and a sweet daughter in law. We had always wanted a lake property and were quite dismayed with what was available. After quite a bit of shopping, we decided to build our own. We built our home, Camp Q, in 2014 after many years of wishing and waiting. When we built it, we knew exactly what we wanted. And, we hope that you get to enjoy those special touches with your family.
Marwan Qubti purchased this House in 2012
Why Marwan Qubti chose Chappells
Choosing Lake Greenwood was easy. Just take a look at the water quality score card link. The water quality is phenomenal. Choosing Chappells was even easier. The town of Chappells is actually a ghost town, so to speak. At one time, a bustling community. Now, farms, forrests, lakes and streams.....just the way we like it. The tallest buildings will be the church steeples. Home to a large population of Mennonites, Chappells is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life. See the following link to appreciate the history of this incredible place that seems frozen in time.
What makes this House unique
There are far too many to list. But, I will specifically point out the things that make people go, "Oooooooo" and "Ahhhhhhhh" when they visit. 1) Upon entering the front door (from the street side) you are immediately greeted with a large open floor plan/family area. And, you are looking straight out on the lake from the West side of the home which has an entire wall of windows. You get to enjoy the sunset from this view. Crazy beautiful....... 2) Ok. If the wall of windows did not do it for you, then the Master Bedroom surely will. This room has french doors that open onto a private screened-in porch. I highly recommend that you sleep with the doors open and fall asleep to the sounds of the waves, crickets chirping, the tree frogs croaking and the fish and beaver splashing. The ducks and fish will wake you the next morning from your slumber. Now, go make yourself a cup of coffee and head back to the screened porch, or the rocking chairs and watch the day begin. You will probably get a peek of the many critters that roam around. Deer are plenty.....and they should be nice and full because they keep eating my flowers. 3) But, maybe outdoors is more your thing. Then, let me introduce you to the oversized, covered 16 x 18 outside kitchen. It has its own porch, 8 x 18, and 2 rocking chairs. This outside kitchen, with about 30 feet of granite counters, will make you want to throw something on the grill and call your friends. There are 2 oversized charcoal grills, and a functional refridgerator. You will also find plenty of seating and a large table under the kitchen as well. What time is dinner?

Our 1st "just us" vacation
This is the 1st time we ever rented a place to take a vacation, so we were a little nervous, especially since it was so far from home, but the owners responded immediately to every question I had. Even once we arrived, they responded immediately by text to every question we had.. We rented off-season, so we didn't get to use the water equipment but we saw where it was stored and it seemed to be good quality equipment and I'd like to come back in the summer months and use it. Their welcome kit included links to places/things to do and we took advantage of that. We walked in the Lake Greenwood State park (which was close by) and hiked the "Cherokee Path Trail" at the Ninety-six National Historic Site, as well as the Star Fort site (also close by). We ate at 2 of their recommended restaurants (Las Casades and Seasons on the Lake) and had great meals. While we aren't coffee drinkers, I could appreciate the cute coffee nook they had set up. They had a nice snack bin set up that we used for late night snacks and pocket snacks while hiking. They even had a bin of dog treats! They had the makings for S'mores (although we had to use the microwave to make ours because the nights were a little too cool for a bonfire). We stayed for 10 days and I was worried about needing to pack (or go buy) cleaning items/paper products, but the owners already had that taken care of. There were plenty of rolls of paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, fabric softener, bath soap, dish soap, dishwasher detergent... The appliances were good quality. The dryer sounded like it had a bearing going and we texted the owner and he would have sent a repairman right out that day but we didn't think it required immediate repair. So we all agreed it could wait til we left. I was worried about having enough towels, but there were plenty of linens, extra blankets and even beach towels if we had needed them. The location was beautiful and we enjoyed sitting out on the deck on the warmer days. I would recommend you bring a set of binoculars to better watch some of the water fowl/wildlife. Some reviewers complained about the master bedroom mattress and I would have to agree that it is a little on the softer side, so if you prefer a firmer mattress, I would recommend sleeping in one of the other guest bedrooms. I would definitely rent here again (or any property owned by Jane and Marwan). They really made it feel like our home for those 10 days.
My parents and brothers family came into town for my daughters wedding. They enjoyed it very much. It was very clean and well furnished.
We absolutely loved this home!! The view was amazing.. it was so peaceful.. the owners made our stay great! They had everything we needed and then some! The coffee bar was amazing!! I would love to go back again someday!
Everything was wonderful.
The hosts/accommodations/location/amenities/hospitality were all WONDERFUL!!! Highly recommended for a vacation and or short getaway. We stayed for a long weekend to attend a family wedding at a nearby home. Only regret we weren't able to spend as much time at this beautiful spot-but that givesus an excuse to return in the future.
