REVIEW ANCIENT CITY
"Like love itself, St. Augustine lingers in the hearts of every romantic who ever strolled her brick-lined streets. Balmy ocean breezes beckon couples to walk hand-in-hand along the Bayfront. A horse & carriage ride along narrow alleys illuminated by flickering gaslight encourage stolen kisses. Dinner & wine on the Crow's Roost balcony or San Sebastián Winery rooftop reignites forgotten passion. Whatever your reason for visiting, the Crow's Roost won't disappoint. The minute I stepped on the balcony & felt ocean breezes wash over me, l exhaled." - Nancy M., guest

WE ARE UPGRADING OUR PHOTOS
Eve's Hideaway was the perfect place for us. The house was amazingly comfortable...like coming to my own home. The two of us had more space to spread out than we could use and plenty of privacy. The house is nested in the maritime hammock (so cool), and it feels like a piece of Florida that is seldom found anymore. The location is perfect because you can be in the busy heart of St. Augustine or the quietude of GTM Research Reserve in 10 minutes. If you are will to take a 15 minute drive, you can go north to the beach access points in the GTM Reserve to explore the coquina sand beach. Go to the second access if you do - there is no development to mar the view in any direction.
If you like to eat, St. Augustine and Vilano Beach have plenty of options - we liked the Floridian and the Hyppo for paletas/ice pops. Stop by the St. Augustine Distillery for a free tour, too.
We would definitely come back again. This is such a good place to chill out.
We visited Eve's Web with friends last year and so enjoyed the comfortable atmosphere that we decided to return for a long weekend this year. Last time stayed downstairs, and this time, upstairs. Both areas are lovely and so cozy! We love the beach, but dislike staying in hotels, so Eve's Web is our solution! We visited the St. Augustine Farmers Market and were able to cook delicious meals in the fully equipped kitchen. We love having the conveniences of home (full kitchen, washer/dryer) away from home, as well as being so close to the beach and all the things to do in St. Augustine. Susan and Gilda are so welcoming, we really feel as if we've found a perfect vacation spot! It is evident that they've thought about all the little details, from cozy beds to a comfy hammock and hot tub! Also, the upstairs feels like a tree-house!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Eve's Web. The location near to the beach yet set back in the trees was so quiet and tranquil. We enjoy being phyically active so this location was perfect for me to run through the quiet neighborhoods and my husband was able to ride his bike for miles of enjoyment. The rooms are airy and decorated so lovely. Eating breakfast in the corner nook was so peaceful in the morning, looking out at the trees. This home is very neat and clean, a clear sign that the owners truly care for the property. Having the laundry facility was very nice. We found Eve's place easy to navigate to restaurants, parks, and towns. We look forward to returning soon.
We stayed here in July 2011. I have spent many holidays in St. Augustine and I usually stay at a hotel just down the street from Eve's web. This year we were looking for something a little more like home away from home...And we found it!! We were the only visitors for the weekend so we had the hot tub to ourselves. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and the scenery around the house is so pretty. The only complaint we was bugs. Bring some bug spray cause the mosquitoes will eat you alive. Other than that it is the best place to stay in St. Aug. The price is the best you will find. Whether you stay upstairs or down there is plenty of space for your family. We stayed in the upstairs but it will be hard to choose next time because the hot tub is on the downstairs patio!
This guest house is ideal for a getaway. The hot tub over looking the garden was the perfect place to get comfortable and prepared for a calm and beautiful visit. The description of the place made us look forward to the house, but we didn't know we'd fall in love with the place! Both the upper and lower rental spaces were beautiful, each with their own unique qualities. We walked and biked to the beach, explored the nearby beach access, and the nearby nature preserve. We biked and drove the close distance to St. Augustine, and felt just at home and glad to be back to the rental after touring the incredible historic downtown and fine dining (twice at the Floridian Restaurant, too good to go just once). The rate was fabulous! We can't wait to bring family and friends back to this location to rent! A new tradition! Only thing we missed was getting to make an appointment for a massage by the rental owner, but you have to keep at least one thing to look forward to the next time!
We spent 5 nights here in early April and found it the perfect antidote to city life in London. My two girls loved the spacious feel of the upstairs apartment, enjoyed swinging in the hammock on the balcony and wallowing in the hot tub. Being only minutes away (by foot) from the beach was wonderful and having a playground minutes away was much appreciated by the girls (2 and 5). St Augustine was full of character and we went on a fascinating eco boat tour. Above all, Susan and Gilda were the most welcoming of hosts. It felt like home from home - thank you, from all of us.
Surrounded by beautiful waters- quiet home setting, close to many activities in historic downtown, the oldest city in the USA.
