Vumba is a small, family owned company, engaged in maintaining traditions and providing a highly professional and personalized service. We produce the organic cheese "Quinta do Carapinhal" following ancient traditions and provide quality accomodation in a rural environment.
Vumba's property is divided into 3 cozy guesthouses (The Alambique, The House of the Lizard, The Owl's Nest) and 2 stylish suites (The Bue Maria and The Gorongoza). All guesthouses have access to a lounge with dining room and kitchen and a large swimming pool surrounded by a lush garden.
House of the Lizard - The old home of Vumba’s foreman is now a very comfortable country house, ideal for a family or a group of friends, with 3 good bedrooms, a big living room with a cozy fireplace, a nice and well equipped kitchen and a bathroom, with a beautiful view of the garden. The house has an inviting patio, ideal for relaxing after a walk in the woods. A second bathroom is located in an annex.
House of the Owl - The original driver’s home was converted into a welcoming and comfy suite, just perfect for a romantic weekend. Besides the bedroom with master bed, the House of the Owl has a bathroom, a lounge with fireplace and a kitchenette. A narrow path through the garden leads to the nearby swimming pool.
The renovation of the old winery gave birth to a snug little cottage with two rooms (The Alembic), plus two independent and stylish bedrooms which recall the family’s Mozambican heritage (The Bue-Maria and The Gorongosa) and a large and elegant guest area including a lounge with dining-room and kitchen.
Vumba is highly influenced by our grandparents’ memory, by their love for this land and by all the great things they’ve done. We make our best to respect and honor this memory in everything we do.
The estate has several roads and trails as well as five idyllic ponds. Isolated from the outside world, here you will find the ideal combination of natural resources to let you enjoy nature and to experience a truly rural lifestyle.
