A luxury apartment built of traditional Lake District stone and slate with all the modern comforts of home. Situated within a conservation area in the heart of Grasmere village next to the river and within yards of the churchyard where Wordsworth is buried. There is a floor to ceiling window in the lounge from which to admire the river, the fells and the sheep grazing. We have our own parking space for one vehicle but shops, pubs and restaurants are all within easy walking distance without the use of your car.

Grasmere is the 'Jewel of the English Lakes' one of the most beautiful of the lakeland villages. The most famous resident William Wordsworth described it as 'the loveliest spot that man bath ever found' and most people agree with his sentiments today. There are many walks in the area for all levels of walkers. The village boasts several pubs and restaurants, art galleries and gift shops. The River Rothay runs through on it's way to Grasmere lake, where you can hire a rowing boat or just sit and admire the views. As the apartment was purchased for use as our 'second home' we have furnished it to a high standard, and we feel you will have a very relaxing holiday. Walking Maps and Guide Books are provided for your use during your stay.

In November 2017 we installed a brand new kitchen and appliances and altered the lounge area to include a large smart TV and new soft furnishings and sofa. From the windows at the rear of the property you look onto the river with uninterrupted views across parkland towards the fells and yet you are able to walk straight into the village from the gate, without having to use a car.

We purchased this apartment because we love the village of Grasmere and because of the lovely position right next to the River Rothay. The property is very light and airy and comfortable for 4 people. You can watch the sheep in the fields from the windows but you are within walking distance of all amenities

What makes this Apartment unique

Views from the windows are of the river and the fells and yet walk though our gate and you are in the village centre with all the restaurants and shops at your disposal. The ducks visit us daily to be fed at the Riverside. The smell of Grasmere Gingerbread being baked is every present.

                                                                We had a wonderful week in this very comfortable and relaxing apartment. Grassmere is a super location with many walks from the village and good places to eat - Mathildes and Tweedies especially recommended with live music on Saturday evening for a jig or two!

                                                                We were even lucky with the weather so came away feeling very refreshed and hope to stay again soon.

                                                                Very comfortable stay and only a couple of hundred yards from the gingerbread shop! We are a family of 2 adults and 2 older teenagers, and we had everything that we needed for a snowy week in February. Plenty of space for drying wet walking gear as there is a big airing cupboard and plenty of radiators. Easy to use kitchen for feeding everyone and WiFi & Smart TV for entertainment as an alternative to traditional board games. Electric 'log' burner gives a cosy feel to the lounge.

                                                                This a gem of a little place right in the heart of Grassmere. For us (keen walkers in a wet place) it was so valuable to have a place to dry coats and boots (the walk in cupboard/airing cupboard in the twin bedroom). The beds were really comfortable and the place lovely warm and cosy after a day out on the fells. The kitchen was well equipped and all appliances working well.If I have any criticism, it is about the size of the pans. There were only three and they were quite small, making it a challenge to cook for four hungry walkers. Looking at the guestbook, most people seem to eat out and are not affected by this. Definitely coming back.

                                                                This property had everything you need. The setting g is great, right in the centre of a village. Great for walking and cafes. Quick drive to larger villages. Beautiful views from every angle and amazing amount of quality cafes and a lovely restaurant next door.

                                                                We spent a week here in June and had 6 day of perfect weather (amazing for the lakes!).The apartment is situated in the heart of Grasmere overlooking the River Rydal. It is on two floors above a shop. Parking off street is right there at the shop. It is wonderfully equipped and has all the utensils, appliances (including washer/dryer) for eating in if desired. Close to restaurants and shops. Walk to everything. Very clean and modern furnishings with a lovely nook overlooking the river.

                                                                Grasmere lies almost at the centre of the Lake District National Park. The village nestles in the hills near to the lake and is well known for its association with Wordsworth and the Romantic poets. The churchyard where Wordsworth is buried and the Gingerbread shop are very close by and the spectacular scenery is popular for walkers.
