Perfect Hideaway!

  • 4 of 5

Owl's Nest is a perfect hide away for 1 person. You're really living with the, very friendly, locals. It felt a bit like a student home:) Everything is in 1 room which is quite handy. It's cosy, clean and has a magnificent view over Molyvos Bay! It's a steep climb up to the little house.

The only diasadvantage was the silk cotton matrass which was very hard and very old....

Little paradise

  • 5 of 5

We spent 10 days in this amazing place. It was absolutely stunning (especially the view!). Melinda and her family made us feel at home from the very first moment and we also enjoyed their fabulous restaurant "The Captain's Table" down at the harbour. Would definitely recommend staying at "Swallow's View"!

A perfect hideaway with stunning views

  • 5 of 5

Swallows view is a perfect little house hidden away in the old village lanes below the castle. It has everything we needed for our two week stay and this was our second stay.we loved being part of village life and getting to know people as we shopped for fresh bread and groceries with everyone else. Its good exercise walking up and down the hill when you've been indulging in the fabulous local food. Cant recommend The Captains Table highly enough. Its our favourite harbour side restaurant in Molyvos.

Like Living at a Friend’s Home

  • 5 of 5

It’s hard for me to decide what I love the most about this charming and comfortable spot.

This cozy house contains everything you need for a pleasant stay. The unpretentious two-story structure has plenty of windows and receives lots of light. It’s located in a quiet residential neighborhood below the castle and within an easy walk to the old market area. Sure, at times it’s a steep climb up the hill from the harborside to your door, but it’s well worth it. Besides, you can always choose to stop at the nearby bakery for a bite of the local specialties. Relax on the tranquil patio with a book, or listen to the birds as you sip an ouzo. The occasional peel of the church bells ensure that you feel immersed in the village way of life.

And the views, whether through the second floor bedroom windows or from the patio are always thrilling. Gaze onto Turkey from your lofty perch, and marvel at what they're missing.

The folks who run The Captain’s Table are behind this delightful experience. My wife and I spent five unforgettable days at Swallow’s View in September 2012. Staying there makes you feel like you’re living at a friend’s home.

Perfect. Again.

  • 5 of 5

We were first here in June 2010 and our review from then is still available to view on this site and I have to say, I would write exactly the same thing again! The only thing that I would add is that we varied our routine slightly by going to the town beach for a swim at about 6pm (good jetty for jumping off), having a beer at the Olive Press and then wandering down to the harbour for dinner. Not a bad routine. Swallows View was as charming as ever. Thanks to Melinda and Theo once again. We hope to be back soon.

Liz and Dom.

Swallow's View / Captain's View

  • 5 of 5

Enchanting places (we stayed in the Swallow's and in the Captain's View), wonderfully furnished with lots of little but special details, fully equipped, amazing view and with the warm hospitality of Melinda and Theo one can only spent the perfect holiday there. We can highly recommend the two houses, we had a perfect stay on the island and would choose the two houses again when we come to Molivos the next time (and have our dinners at Melinda and Theo's Restaurant Captain's Table at the harbor).

Cobbled paths and roads lead down to the Agora, the central part of the village, and on down to the picturesque harbour with its caiques, tavernas, bars and local colour. The village offers an extraordinary range of shops, cafes and tavernas. Away from the harbour area, on the beach are a variety of tavernas and snack bars with direct access to the sea. The village beach, awarded the EU flag for cleanliness, is approximately two kilometres long and offers a degree of privacy towards its end for those who enjoy a skinny dip.
