Why Brenda chose Banner Elk
This cabin is a step above the rest with it's custom luxury design and attention to detail, including a luxe deep soak tub upstairs, a slate standing shower with glass door downstairs, and a wooden mantle that was made with a tree from the yard. The lofted master suite has a plush king bed and sweeping views of the yard, and each of the two downstairs bedrooms has a plush queen bed. All three of the bedrooms have cable TVs and blackout blinds. The professionally designed yard is an exquisite haven for people who love the outdoors. Surrounded by trees, enjoy the swing or the hammock while viewing the lovely garden & manicured lawn. Don’t forget your favorite beverage while enjoying the peace & quiet. Keep an eye out for the albino squirrel that lives nearby. Also, remember to bring your makings for s’mores while you are enjoying some amazing stargazing. Up on the deck you will feel like you’re in a treehouse because of the surrounding canopy of trees. The hot tub has lights, a waterfall & a sound system. You have your choice of grills for your barbecuing pleasure, too. We love our cabin & truly feel it is our little slice of heaven. We are excited to share it with others & hope that you enjoy it as much as we do!
What makes this Cabin unique
We are located at the top of a mountain and are about a 10 minute drive from downtown Banner Elk. Our driveway can comfortably fit up to four vehicles. Our neighborhood is quiet and secluded, consisting of ten similar cabins, with Tippytop having the most privacy at the end of the road. Banner Elk is a special mountain community that has the best the Blue Ridge has to offer. Tippytop is located about 15 minutes from the base of both Sugar and Beech Mountains, with easy access to skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, and snow tubing. The cabin is within close driving distance of some of the best food that Appalacia has to offer, including The Gamekeeper, Artisanal, Bistro Roca, and The Painted Fish. See our neighborhood guide for some of the highlights from our view of Appalachia. The cabin is within a 30 minute drive of some of the best sights of the Blue Ridge, including Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, the Blue Ridge Parkway, Blowing Rock, Linville Caverns, Elk River Falls, Boone, and Tweetsie Railroad.

We loved the property. It was beautiful. The landscaping is 5 star. Lots of little areas to relax. Kids had fun playing in the yard. We all enjoyed the hot tub after our 5 mile hikes.
We loved the deck and the yard so much! One adult and two energetic little boys, we needed that outdoor space for playing, exploring, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit, swinging in the hammock, hot tub soaks.... it was really beautiful. The house had everything we needed and was a good location for us. Everything we did was within 30 minutes- Linville caverns, Linville Falls, gem mining at greater foscoe, grandfather mountain, urgent care in Boone 🙄, rafting with edge of the world ... it was always nice to come back to tippy top and feel at home. Also, the beds were soooo comfy! That is rare! My boys and I want to come back for another adventure.
TippyTop was the perfect home base for our too short summer mountain family getaway. Getting to the various activities we had time for - Grandfather Mountain, horseback trail riding, hikes, zip-lining, and more was an easy and beautiful journey up, down and around meandering mountain roads through quaint towns with cool shops, restaurants, and observation points around every turn. The house itself is just great. Immediately comfortable as home, but a literal story-book dwelling. The cabin is an ideal size, very clean with lush, colorful landscaped grounds. There’s a fire pit, swing, hot tub, security lighting, decks, and everything we needed all in great working order. There is so much we didn’t have time to do, so will likely return again soon. :-) Thanks, Brenda, for letting us share your home for a few days. My wife and boys loved it!
Such a beautiful cabin. Not only is the cabin very well appointed and decorated, the outdoor area is beautiful. Hot tub, hammock, fire pit, plenty of seating to enjoy the peace and quiet. One of the nicest cabins we've ever stayed in.
We had a great time. What a beautiful property. We will definitely be back in the future!
Awesome Family Vacation!
We've made several trips to various parts of western North Carolina on our waterfall adventures. We've used a VRBO property each time. This property is among the best we've ever used! It was extremely clean, comfortable, and well stocked. There was plenty of space for our family and we enjoyed dining out on the deck each night. I can't think of anything extra we would have needed during our stay because of what this property offers. The attention to the amenities and all the small details was impressive. Thank you for an amazing stay!
