Executive Studio Condo, sleeps 3
A retreat from the fast pace of Vancouver - where we established our careers and raised our kids. The location and quality of this property provides the perfect getaway, close to friends, family and wellness....a step closer to our planned retirement back to the Island. We recognize that time away is precious, so the quality of the time spent on the Island means a lot to us from walking along the seashore to biking on the nearby trails.
Linda purchased this Studio in 2016
Why Linda chose Sidney
Sidney, BC is located less than a 10 min. drive from BC Ferries - a perfect getaway location from the pace of living and working downtown Vancouver. The quality of Miraloma and the zen-like atmosphere is perfect to recharge. There are an abundant of activities we can choose from, whether its strolling along the beach, enjoying the views of the ocean and garden, cycling into Victoria, shopping or tasting the local eateries. This seaside community is truly a gem. http://distinctlysidney.ca/events/calendar/
What makes this Studio unique
- Location, location, location (easy access to ferry, marina, airport, trails) - High quality, exceptionally well maintained - once a boutique style hotel (fell in love with it as soon as we opened the door) - Salt water fish tank at the entrance (is just the beginning) - Ocean views (picturesque) - Surrounding heritage garden (peaceful) - Water access across the street on Allbay road (deep breaths) - Steps away from Van Isle Marina & Sea Glass Waterfront Grill restaurant (yachts and great wine) - Lochside trail / Galloping Goose trail (we love cycling) - Staying indoors is okay too, as you have an executive suite, large quiet common lounge, gym, and sauna

It was a lovely place! Perfect location for us right next to the Van Isle Marina. I highly recommend this place!
Nice, quiet, clean and great location!
I quiet beautiful location. The building has a small number of units, very well kept. The grounds are very nice. Look forward to staying again!
Great property in ideal location
The apartment is well maintained and spotlessly clean in a lovely location on the outskirts of Sidney. Great base for touring the area and easy access to the Lochside bicycle trail.
Quiet and relaxing
Property is right by the water but no beach access at the property. It is about 25 minute walk to the downtown. There is a corner store about 10 minutes away. The property was a boutique hotel at one time. We stayed at it many years before. The main floor has sitting areas and a fireplace. Our room was a studio room. It had a king bed with down duvet. There was a love seat and an occasional chair. A small table and 2 chairs. The kitchen area had a very small bar sink, microwave and bar fridge. When we arrived the fridge had water sitting inside as the freezer portion had been turned down. After that the freezer never worked. There is very little counter space to use. There is an induction burner and other electronics but the space is very tight. The unit had Netflix but no cable channels. It was warm and bright. When we arrived the bathroom had not been cleaned but cleaning supplies were in the cupboard so I cleaned it. I contacted the owner and she addressed the issue with the cleaner and bought us a dinner out. There were supplies in the unit. There is a deck with table and chairs. We found the unit very small and the kitchen inadequate for our needs as we were there for a longstay. It would be great for a short stay. There is secure underground parking which was very nice. There is a laundry room on the garage floor. The owners were quick to respond.
Beautiful location, well stocked with crockery, towels etc. Lovely and clean, just as described.
The property is just as described, just minutes away from downtown Sidney by car, from the Swartz Bay ferry terminal and close to many eating places. Really recommend the fish and chip shop on Resthaven drive for great simple food and lovely service. Breakfast at the Spitfire Grill, 10 minutes away was awesome too. There are so many fun things to see and do around and in Sidney, as well as many walks with outstanding scenery. The accommodation was as described, very clean and inviting, it was a quiet place to stay, no shouting, banging doors etc. It is set within a beautiful garden and you are across the road from the ocean. A lovely place for a weekend retreat, or longer.
Nice executive, boutique hotel, beautiful birds nearby aplenty; in safe, quiet, nice town.
This would be a decent place to live in one of the 1 or 2-bedrooms. The restaurant looks nice across the way and the side-view off the balcony and the view from the bench is lovely. The neighbourhood is quiet, safe, and serene. I, unfortunately, got a bad neighbour upstairs, and that is just the way, sometimes you get stuck as the china shop with the bull upstairs. I contacted Linda and she contacted the Strata, and they solved the problem greased lightning. I wish I had not waited 3 weeks to report the problem. Anyway, older and wiser; soaker tub is good. So are the: king bed, sauna downstairs good, exercise room largely passes muster, surroundings are gorgeous, and most of the neighbours were charming or good. Some folks surrounded my car with black, electrical tape 'x's,' buckets of tools, and a really weird scene that I recorded-- then they got scared and ran away. One time I recycled a cardboard box incorrectly so they put up a giant sign saying: here lies the trash of the fool who incorrectly broke his cardboard box down and he should be pilloried, and so forth. I thought that was odd because I try to be as close to waste-negative as possible, compost, & the like, and was just returning from 2 trips in British Columbia where nobody recycled anything. They just pitch everything into the landfill, excepting the occasional beer or pop can if they feel like picking up the nickel that day. Question them and they pack light or heavy, so I do not understand this kind of enviro-Nazi, or fascist Earth-destroyer. Linda is available. The lock box is a bit tricky. The heated floor in the bathroom is very nice and you will need it as you will arrive with the fuse for the heating switched off. I took the liberty of turning it back on as it got into the fifties in there after a couple of weeks. The hot plate is terrible. The toaster oven is good. The fridge is terrible. The fridge also groans like it is dying and is 1 metre from your head when you sleep. The bedposts have been notched heavily-- which is very gross. The sofa and chair are nice. The balcony is nice. The theatre is disposable. The internet line goes like 25 Mbps. There were rotten goods in the common freezer and the common kitchen was disgusting. I did not use any of the common washrooms as it was a total ghost town. They tried to sell me a time share while I was there. The toilet does not work that great. They have lots of extra stale supplies. The robes were gone. Do not touch their things
Thank you for taking the time to provide your comments and perspective. I appreciate it and will also apprise the strata council as they are very adamant about the upkeep of the common amenities. Do take care and safe travels.
