With stunning views over surrounding countryside, this traditional cottage is ideal for walkers and lovers of historic houses.
Nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park, this deceptively large, semi-detached Grade II listed stone-built cottage offers spacious accommodation in the hillside village of Curbar. Full of character with beamed ceilings, stone flag flooring and mullioned windows, it makes a wonderful base and offers stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Set below Curbar Gap and Froggatt Edge, there is ample walking available from the door, together with climbing and mountain biking.
A traditional pub serving food is a mere 10-minute walk, and the nearby village of Baslow, 1½ miles, offers shops, pubs and even a Michelin starred restaurant. The hugely popular market town of Bakewell can be reached in around 15 minutes, as can the magnificent historic houses of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall. The National Trust Longshaw Estate and the historic plague village of Eyam are around a 10-minute drive, and other Peak District towns and villages such as Buxton, Castleton, Hathersage and Matlock are all reachable within half an hour. Shop 1 mile, pub and restaurant ½ mile.
